Personally, it all happened too quickly for me to care about Kizuna's death. Quite a few people commented on how quickly Ai changed her tune to follow him out of the village.
While I can understand that the events in the past three episodes did not happen within a few hours within the series, the pacing is still much too fast for me to grow attached to the characters. Last edited by Shadow5YA; 2013-07-25 at 23:08. Reason: typo |

It really caught me off guard. Even when he stated his true wish out aloud I still was mildly confident. I started suspecting something after Ai revelation. And even if I agree that they rushed it a bit too much, I also agree with Solace
The problem now is that it was really handled so well that it felt like it was the end of the series. So now I'm worried about what comes next. Like the show already having reached its best.

I feel bad but I didn't cry I think I was too in shock to cry, I totally didn't see it coming. ED was timed perfectly. Really the last 5-8 minutes was just perfect.
I do find it a bit odd that HH's description of Hana wasnt anything like Ai's mother...

Look at Julie with those lustful eyes, he must have done something to Scar for sure
Seriously though, Scar needs to be careful here. Wouldn't want her written off the series as I quite like Noto Mamiko's roles and also because of Scar's nice boobs

The setting of Ortus city strongly reminds me of fortified wall in Attack on Titan, minus Titans roaming outside.
About the episode itself, well, a bit boring if i may honest. Though it managed to keep me from yawning by continuously giving subtle hints at some place, unfortunately still not enough to hold my interest high when barely something of importance happened. Aside from that, i'm genuinely interested with Julie, who's superbly voiced by Keiji Fujiwara, in delivering the expositions of the world building after Hampnie's gone, and as the result, he has the best dialogues in this episodes. Oh, and this is probably one of few shows where character voiced by Fujiwara able to survive for more than 2 episodes |

Am i one of the few that thinks that scar's sickness is something more than a simple cold or something like that(and ye there is the possibility that the voice affected her way more than expected)?
edit:nvm i found out and i wasnt wrong in a sense Last edited by xzardon; 2013-07-28 at 11:26. |

Well, everyone was pretty cheerful considering events of the previous episode.
I wonder what happened 15 years ago. They keep mentioning it, but still no new info about it. Honestly, that's what interests me the most in this anime at the moment. The new passenger they accidentally picked up looks interesting. It feels like the first arc ended and now we've started a new arc. Ortus looks promising. Should bring more action to the story... hopefully.

I'm guessing that Gravediggers have a builtin failsafe, so to speak, that compels them to bury the dead and being near so many dead people just has to get that instinct into overdrive. At least that's what I got from the comment when they arrived at Ortus claiming that other Gravediggers were drawn to the city to bury the dead.
What I find strange though is that Ai has shown no such symptoms so far. It doesn't surprise me that she isn't as affected as scar due to the whole half-human thing but I still find it awkward that nothing is happening to her.

Not shit Ortus has a dark side. You just need to look at Baron Ashura to notice. That there are people who would go to such length to survive is scary. I didn't expect to see something so grotesque in this series. Humpnie's methods might have questionable but he had the right idea. Better to die with dignity than to survive like this.
