I do wonder though, if they don't find real life girls arousing, since they lack digitization.

I suggest you have a read of the The generic "Is this a bootleg" thread. BTW, this thread will most likely be merged with the above thread soon since it's 99.9% certain that we are talking about a bootleg. And if you are going to buy an illegal bootleg, then you really are being ripped off if they charge $48.95! Even for a three disc package. |

hmmm i was wondering something again
browsing trough some stuff on yesasia i came along this : http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept...id-1003950722/ it's not listed on www.nausicaa.net and the specs are at least suspicious is someone able to confirm if this is legimate or not ? (seen a well known one piece case with yesasia it's not impossible)

I looked around and the same company name has legally released a Nausicca VCD before, but apparently they also have released unlicensed things according to the Miyazaki mailing list. Therefore, I would guess that this is likely an unlicensed release based on the fact that there are only 3 discs (for 52 episodes). No other world wide release has fewer than 5 DVDs.

Alps no Shoujo Heidi (Heidi: Girl of the Alps) is a 52 episode TV series from 1974 (from AniDB) Heidi Theatical Version (Boxset) is a 3 DVD release running 280 minutes (from YesAsia) I'm not sure how these two are linked. I don't see anything on nausicaa.net about a 280 minute version (from nausicaa.net WMT). There only appears to be a 109 minute Movie and the 52 episode TV series listed. |

In this case, YesAsia is listing knock offs... >.>;
This is the actualy Theatrical version: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=COBC-4213 This is the complete DVD list of the series: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/Listups/ani...rent=0&step=20 And, this is the Nausicaa.net info page: http://nausicaa.net/miyazaki/wmt/ However, the information on Nausicca.net is only partially correct. The series was created by Isao Takahata, Miyazaki only did continuity checks, and the World Masterpiece Theatre collection was not started by either of the two (Miyazaki or Takahata). It was started 5 years earlier with the series Moomin, directed by Oosumi Masa'aki. >.>; |

hmmm i see three dvds released in 2003 and the same listed for this year with the same titels so it could be that the yesasia release of "those from 2003" (see cdjapan link from mr_Paper) are legit. i can't see the difference between those from 2003 vs those from 2006 the titles are the same so is the medium ther're on. (cdjapan link)
maybe the best option is to mail nausicaa to see what they have to see about them atm i'll assume they are not legit until i know for SURE they are legit

Bootlegs?
Time to add my two cents...
BOOTLEGS SUCK! Do not buy them, even if you're desperate. Use the Bittorrent if you're desperate because even if it is wrong, you're not helping some crooks make money. You might get the whole series, yup, but you're getting crap. And it's not usually worth what you paid for it-oh no, not with ADV's godly new slim packs coming out at $30 for 13 eps. And you can get those without grammar mistakes, bad picture/sound and everyone's name spelled wrong or put in Chinese! Or haven't I convinced you enough? In that case, please have a look at Chiibi's past experience with the filthy things known as craplegs-er bootlegs Gravitation TV (No, not mine, my stubborn friend's set. She likes getting ripped off apparently instead of spending $20 more to get Right Stuf's nice decent version-ignore bad dub) The subtitles for the most part, do not make any sense. They changed EVERYONE'S name to some stupid Chinese name. Yuki="Mr.Kwan" WTF Yu-Gi-Oh TV (Again, not mine) The subtitles for the most part do not make any sense. Blue Eyes White Dragon="Green Eyes White Dragon" -_- Yugi="Game". YES, they translated his name! Although it is amusing to see the characters scream "GAME!!!!" a lot. I will admit to that. The Slayers TV Season 1 (Yes, I bought this off ebay years ago when I was young and stupid) Names were often misspelled. Video was off sync with the sound in a few eps (THIS IS THE MOST ANNOYING THING EVER ) Poor sound on some eps Denshin Mamotte Shugogetten OVA EVERY single freakin name was changed to some long-ass Chinese name (gag) (No no, I have no qualms about the Chinese themselves. But if the characters have a Japanese name, by crap, it better STAY a Japanese name! The Chinese goddess names, of course stayed the same. =P) Inuyasha TV (I have another friend who's an Inuyasha fanatic and he buys these bootcraps a lot. But he also buys the official releases. He wants all versions, he told me. Okay.... ) BAD GRAMMAR! BAD SENTENCES! Augh, we couldn't even follow some of the episodes-er he couldn't. Lucky, he had me with him, the Japanese language princess. Kagome's name was changed to some freakish thing bs name like "Hali" Sesshoumaru="The Killing Pill" (a freakish translation of his kanji name) The names of the Band of Seven were all changed. Minor characters' names were changed. The DVDs have glitches. They freeze, pixel up, or skip. Two eps were so bad that we never found out if Jakotsu molested our puppy boy in the cave or not. That's it. I've shared my horrid memories with you. If you are STILL thinking it's a good idea to buy bootlegs, then THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR HEAD! Thanks for reading my long-ass post if you took the time. XD
