Seems like the fight with the Nevermore during the initiation worked wonders to bring the team together. Even Blake is joining in on Ruby's antics now. The hammock is definitely Yang's and Ruby's bed is probably propped up by her textbooks given how she acts in glass.

Good start to the second half of the season. If all goes well Crimson and maybe even Adam will probably show up to stir things up later on.

Wish if they do background eps like this they make them longer

We did get to see more of blakes personality rather than just being quiet cool which was nice ^^

When Weiss said it was dangerous, I assume she meant for the person on the top bunk, but obviously the person on the bottom bunk would get the worst of it.

Team Jrnp are in the same room together. I think seeing their sleeping arrangements would have been more interesting than Team Rwby's. Wonder if they have a giant curtain splitting the room?

I wonder what Prof Port is supposed to be teaching exactly? His lecture didn't seem to be going anywhere. A minor info dump and then he sicks his pet wolf on a student?

Weiss didn't exactly volunteer to fight. She simply said she embodied those traits. And now she has to fight a Grim probably with the same tools that Prof Port used when he was a boy.

A nice little comic relief episode after all the action of its predecessor. Blake was definitely the stand out of this one and she was especially funny and cute which is all the more surprising and effective since she's been portrayed as aloof and mysterious up till now. It seems Blake's enjoying herself with Ruby and Yang. Weiss is the only one who doesn't seem happy.

I'm kind of curious about that Ninjas of Love book Blake has there.

The last part of the episode was especially funny what with the cutting back and forth between Weiss's increasingly angry expression and Ruby being immature with Port's rambling about what makes a good leader playing over it.

This feels like a wasted episode in my eyes with the exception of the last 3 seconds.

To be fair to Ruby, Weiss didn't seem to be that enthused, either, when Professor Poop launched into his story. Indeed, she, too, looked like she might be on the verge of nodding off (like everyone else in the room except that one person up there in the balcony seats).

Just a minor correction for you. I'm not sure if Professor Poop would even know what makes a good leader. He reminds me of the stereotypical big game hunter who has a vast wealth of stories that no one wants to listen to, but he tells them over and over again, anyway. While he was going on and on, I couldn't help but think of a scene in a Three Stooges short where the big game hunter kept telling his story, even as he was getting repeatedly pelted in the face with pies.

On another note, where did Yang get that King? Don't tell me she's a klepto?!

I wanted to see if I could identify all the stuff she's carrying, and was surprised to she that she has the white King chess piece when she took a "pony" from the temple. The only thing that really puzzles me is what looks to be a smaller version of Pyrrah's shield. Where did that come from? Or, is it Pyrrah's and like Jaune's shield, it can get smaller, and Yang stole it???

At just under seven minutes (including OP and ED), this episode clocks in as one of the longer "short" episodes.

Weiss shows her true colors (I was right about how she felt about Ruby being selected leader of team RWBY).

I gotta say that Professor Poop really surprised the hell out of me; both he and Professor Ozpin gave some very sage advice.

Although not a lot happened, it was a really excellent episode.

Oh, and I was wrong about the bunk bed sleeping arrangements.
