I never thought it would do well over here, either. I mean, cultural obstacles aside, the game isn't exactly the greatest. Not to mention that if it ever does come here (which it likely won't), it will be ridiculously outdated. Wildstar is actually a game worth pushing. B&S is not.

I've played Blade & Soul and was largely unimpressed by the story (the combat is kind of fun, but it leaves a lot to be desired in some aspects). I don't see what they will make of this. The first thing to come to mind when I saw the character designs was Queen's Blade, especially cuz of the white-haired chick...
Also, what does Rift in particular have to do with ANY of the NCSoft games mentioned? It's essentially a less ugly WoW, is from an entirely different company, and doesn't play anything like those three games... Plus, a LOT of MMOs did better than TERA in the western market. |

i played Blade and soul CN but i don't think it will make that well as an anime. Sure, for a game, blade and soul have quite an impressive story but as an anime ?? i don't think so.. the story is generally straight and expected.

If you think WS is a WoW clone like Rift, you're quite wrong. A lot of Carbine's staff is from Blizzard, yes. But unless you're in the beta/have played during a stress test weekend, don't take the videos and streams at face value. At the VERY least, it doesn't have ridiculously awful tab-targeting combat that requires no thought process like WoW and Rift's combat systems. You actually need to think and... y'know. Move.

This is looking to be the best Gonzo animation we've getting this decade, unfortunately seconded only by Bayonetta (from the PV's perspective only). I really like the dynamic camera angle and how the fight scene is presented, which gives me enough hopes that the show might look good. Too bad given Gonzo's recent track record, it wouldn't even be well-animated as I hoped out to be.
Disappointed that Girls' Generation won't do the opening theme since they already have an history with the game's BGM before (I listened to their tie-in song and it was awesome!)

Worse, the QUALITY may rear its ugly head on every scene that is not a major battle scene. Look at what happened to Blazblue Alter Memory, whose QUALITY reaches hilarious levels. Meanwhile, have an Arakune going up the stairs. May or may not be relevant.

Well, this shows that the animation will be decent at some places at least. Queen's Blade had pretty stiff animation most of the time, unless it were boobs. I'm not expecting anything mind-blowing, but I'm thinking it will be enjoyable to some extend, for me anyway. There are various hings like atmosphere and presentation that can do good influence on the overall quality.
