Honoka is actually NOT getting as bashed as one may think. He's done good by most people - but for some reason, I bet a portion of them choose to see Honoka as a girl... >.>

Based on what we've seen of Takamiya-kun, he is capable of being speaking up or being a badass, but for the majority of the show he just doesn't, and he was portrayed as being manipulated and dragged along instead of actively playing along or waiting for his chance. While it it sensible that the plot and the other characters intentionally deny him the knowledge to do more (because a predictable, easily manipulable macguffin is preferable to one with its own will), that doesn't make a enjoyable central character. If Takamiya-kun actually knows this and protested more or took more action on his own (who likes being treated like a kid and kept intentionally in the dark?), even if he fails I would not have felt he was useless.

I said an entertaining, interesting or excellent story *should* be considered a winning formula. Obviously other factors come into play, but it's just that sometimes I feel that the industry relies too much on in these so-called gimmicks that it completely misses the point. It's like they build the merchandising plan first before coming up with a series or story that will underpin audience interest to the brand. Then again, what do I know? I'm not working in the anime-manga-otaku media industry after all. |

You're seriously arguing that somebody who has been mindwiped is not useless? We should take characters as they are now, not as they are in the backstory!
Your analysis is also in spoilers territory and dangerously close to religion discussion. Censor your post, and cut the insulting tone, dude.

I wasn't even gonna watch this, until I realised I had for one reason or other watched five episodes already. I don't have much to say about this, good or bad. But I'm gonna read the manga, so it must be good or something. The comedy was good. What got me was wanting to see how it went on, and see the inner workings of the setting. It's so weird to see something like this, where the hidden past is something I actually want to know and isn't completely obvious grom the start.
I guess everyone on the thread saying it wasn't just throwing random stuff and everything had a reason are a reason why in the end I stuck with it. Thanks guys. *thumbs up* On Honoka, they guy did plenty for the common person (more or less) amongst a completely overpower cast, that's mostly going out of their way so he doesn't do anything. And he was putting effort all the time, and that counts. I'd much rather have this than Awesome McProtagonist just running head on against everything and winning for made up reasons, which is the standard for actino anime protagonists. |

Finally got around to finishing it.
Alrite ending. Though, a bit confusing. So many characters in different spots and not really sure why their there, other than just because. Chrono is interesting, she seems to just be there for fun. The explanation of the relationship between Honoka and Kagari had various holes in it, in that it vaguely just hinted or showed it, but never outright confirmed anything in story, and not even sure the characters other than kagari is aware of it

CHrono said out loud at least twice that she was there to eat powerful witches. Albeit weakend wasn't really powerful so I suppose since Evermillion could not be lured out she settled for a rematch with Kazane.

i believe who she have another agenda, remember when she in another episde who she not was looking for evermillion and when she see the "dragon" behind kagari she say who this is what she want, my theory is who whatever she want is not inside honoka but inside kagari ore related to her and vermillion is the key to release it.

I have to say, Ayaka's chest is among the largest that I've seen in anime that has always remained at least 80% covered at all times.
With that said, between Nurse Kagari and Nurse Aki, there's enough 'plot' to make a new country...

I have to say that Ayaka is actually quite attractive, although some of the other cast are much cuter and striking. I'm waiting for that magic moment in a future chapter where Ayaka smiles naturally for the first time. That will be beautiful. (If she did already, I have no memory of it, please don't kill me)

This the rare anime where the visuals were better than the story. The setting also had a lot of potential, but it hardly got developed in favor of a formulaic protagonist.

If it's any consolation it seems like some mysteries will be unraveled soon in the manga.

Kind of the opposite mind set for me. While I think the visuals were great and impressively consistent throughout, especially towards the end where they took it up a notch, there were a lot of visual details left out from the manga and it is disappointing to see it not put in. I think the way the story was told was perfectly fine despite not having given out some crucial explanations about Honoka and Ayaka. However, I very much would have preferred them to have waited to adapt this series when there are more explanations given. As it is, the conclusion to the show is basically begging viewers to read the manga. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I usually dislike when that happens but I can't really complain, I'm content with this adaptation.
