TL;DR version: This volume can be summed up as "Kinji and Jeanne's honeymoon trip, and they fight Nazis".
Now, IIRC someone in this thread have summarized up to the end of the Hong Kong arc already, after the surprise Nazi and Petra attack on everyone there. I'll start after that. Just some points I'm not sure if people have said yet:
-someone now can shove a gun next to Kinji's head and fire, and HSS will allow Kinji to get out of it with only a flesh wound? Well that happened, it's like Kinji can now spam techniques he used on G3 near effortlessly -.- It involved using the 'Sakura' technique on his skull and spine, accelerating it at near-supersonic speeds to offset the bullet's speed)
-Kinji and Aria's spat in Hong Kong was basically resolved because Kinji can't stay angry at Aria's pretty face.
GODDAMN LOLICON. (and yes, I will be saying more than a few times for the next 2 volumes)
After getting back to Japan, Moe and that other blonde girl from the HK triad showed up, transferring in. It doesn't really change anything though, given what Kinji had to do from this volume onwards.
Kinji found out from Watson the sword Sherlock gave him was the 'Excalibur', and if the UK ever found out who wrecked it James Bond would show up and kill the guy responsible. Too bad Kinji used it as a tool to block Sun Wukong's laser eye back in Hong Kong and completely wrecked it
Watson also mentioned the Nazi attack on Hong Kong had happened too swiftly, as turning a cruise-ship into a vacuum bomb and sailing it there takes time, which they couldn't have got there if they acted after the Hong Kong people told them. There's a traitor suspected on Kinji's side.
New Years celebrations happened, and during it G3 was called away by US to solve problems. The author had it written that the US is too reliant on its large size that they only have a 50% win rate against Al Qaeda on missions. This isn't the only time the author take shots at countries outside Japan =/
Tamamo visited Team Baskerville during this time as well, talking about a duo, male and female pair, named 'Demonic Swords' in Europe working against their side in the War. Those guys were judged to be able to curbstomp Team Baskerville singlehandedly, something Kinji think is impossible. Kinji have completely forgot how Kaname stomped his team just a while back -.- (and Goddamnit author, stop worf-ing all the protagonist-side characters that's not Kinji)
Someone from Team Baskerville is slated to go to Europe to help out on the battles there.
Kinji gave Tamamo one of the Irokane that was taken out of Aria, and Tamamo returned it into Aria. Sun Wukong didn't change her hair color even though she was a Irokane deity a while back - if you're powerful enough (like Sherlock) you can overcome the Irokane's effect on you. Reki's hair colour pre-Irokane contact was silver grey.
Back to school after new years break, Kinji got called to the Principal's office. He's told he earned a Title (like Aria's "Quadra"), the 15th student in their school to do so while still enrolled there, and the 2nd to do so as only a 2nd-year student. Kinji's title is 'Enable', ie "Someone that can turn the impossible possible".
While Kinji's there, Kinji is also told he has been listed in the 'Dangerous personage' list by the America, China, and UK govts. The Death Flags start as early as here since the Principal says while the academy don't mind interesting students like Kinji, students being blacklisted often die before graduation.
Americans are pissed that G3 was almost killed while working with Kinji (the Sun Wukong laser eyebeams); China's reasoning was for stuff that happened in Hong Kong; and UK was because Kinji stopped Aria going back to work in UK.
In response the academy is removing Kinji from Team Baskerville, ostensibly as punishment to appease the other governments. Kinji is shuffled into another team for the time being, since without socialization the school worries that Kinji's experience growth will be stunted. Kinji is shuffled into Jeanne's team as a supervisor for the time being at least, as her team is in shambles.
Kinji met up with Jeanne later, and found out during their last overseas training trip Jeanne lost a ton of school points as all of her team minus herself was left behind in Japan for their trip. Jeanne's team has to redo the overseas education trip, so they're going to Bali, France. Jeanne is taking this opportunity to support their side of the War there. Europe is almost entirely enemy territory at this point.
Plane trip, the others in Jeanne's "Team Constellation" are all a difficult piece of work, incl a transport class vehicle otaku, the shy comms girl, and a hikikomori that somehow wormed her way out of the trip. Watson is going with Kinji as backup for this trip. That transport girl got so enamored looking at planes she missed the flight the last time >.>
Aria and others came to send Kinji and Jeanne's team off. Notable points was that Aria is working to reverse the political pressure, and Riko giving Jeanne a cat-eared headphones.
With this trip, all of Team Baskerville is 'put on a bus' and shelved. Maybe the author figured that tsunderes don't sell anymore?
(Hint: no, not really. MORE tsunderes pop up later on -.-)
Before the team even land in Europe Jeanne is seducing Kinji
Kinji confessed leaving the country might not be a bad thing given that Moe and the other girl is after him, and Jeanne said that's almost like Kinji is eloping with her to escape
BTW, Kinji likes to watch Jeanne's sleeping face because it's beautiful and doesn't trigger his HSS.
After reaching Bali, Watson took the rest of Jeanne's team to a town north of Bali, ostensibly because the trip encourages independence. In reality it's Watson keeping the not-related personnel away, and to create a backup base to retreat to if things go bad.
We once again got author bashing other countries, saying Bali's nothing like its glamourous reputation given that there's trash on the streets, homeless people and drug addicts at many street corners, and police with machine-guns everywhere in the city.
Jeanne's seduction continues, with Kinji scheduled to live in the same apartment as her. She also teases if Kinji's afraid to stay with her because a witch like her would eat him up if he stays with her. Later Kinji remarks he'll have trouble getting used to the time zone differences once he gets back to Japan, and Jeanne suggests he can stay with her in Europe. Less blatantly (with the only difference being that Kinji don't understand this) was Jeanne wearing perfume because as she said you never know when the man would have *cough* 'Opportunities' *cough* to get in close to smell it.
*peeks at later content* I'll cut the shipping list short in words, otherwise I'll still be here 2 hour on typing.
-The two of them went on a date, eating out at a restaurant.
-Holding hands while walking
-goes skating
-Jeanne doesn't care if Kinji only sees her wearing only a pair of lace panties after her bath, and she doesn't mind
peeking checking up on Kinji after he fell asleep in the bathtub and almost sees his entire body naked
-sleeps in the same room, same bed
-Jeanne hugs Kinji in bed, while wearing only lingerie - Kinji tries to push her off to prevent HSS activation, but Jeanne's better at wrestling than he is and pushed him down.
-HSS activates,
and then they had sex well, not that far, though it's only because this is a fictional work rated at PG13.
Kinji figures out Jeanne is feeling guilty she dragged Kinji into fighting a War with a high chance of death, compared to how safe Asia's battles was. Kinji told Jeanne to not feel guilty, it's a man's job to carry a woman's burden, after all. Jeanne was moved to tears and requested Kinji to treat her like a woman from now on (no not THAT way), since 'Jeanne de Arc' has to be treated as a man in all ages, and Kinji was the first person to treat as a woman (ref Vol2 when they fought, Kinji commented Jeanne was a clever lady).
The two of them went to sleep hugging each other tightly. (Which is why I say nothing happened is only due to the PG13 rating, because with HSS activated there's no way Kinji can stop with a girl this close - exceptions like another Tooyama blood interfering aside, like in the case with Kaname).
Jeanne and Kinji is to meet up with a Vatican
witch saint, going by European terms, Meiya, who manipulates luck. Their goal this time to find the Nazis' arsenal stockpile. The Nazis are said to have the upperhand in Europe because they don't rely only one method, whereas the Freemasons (like Watson) relies too much on mundane weaponry and the Vatican relies too much on magic. They're to meet up at a masquerade, supposedly because it's anonymous and safe...
If it wasn't for the fact the three of them STILL call each other by their real names there. WHAT THE HELL, ARE YOU GUYS REALLY BUTEI? YOU ALL FAIL AT STEALTH FOREVER. This party is just a excuse for cosplay and fanservice scenes -.-
The most notable offence, Kinji almost being brained by centrifugal boobs the size of melons. Meiya is stacked. He also somehow pushed Meiya down with his face landing in her breasts. Jeanne showed up and went tsundere at this scene, threatening to whip Kinji.
Side note, Kinji found a locket in the white suit Jeanne lent him. It showed a very attractive man three years older than Jeanne riding a horse with her, and they both looked happy. Kinji thought this was Jeanne's ex-boyfriend. Jeanne smacked some sense into Kinji, saying that was her half-brother from one of her mother's previous marriage. Jeanne disliked how her family is a matriarchal one, and she was forced to be apart from the male members of her family from a young age.
Shame the volume immediately breaks the mood up:
Jeanne's brother is married, in a same-sex-marriage- WHAT THE FUCK, KINJI IS A HOMOPHOBE? FUCKING HELL, AS IF THE AUTHOR'S IMPERIALISTIC JAPANESE VIEWS WASN'T TOXIC ENOUGH TO THE WRITING ALREADY
Vol16 had Kinji compare same sex marriage as a crime on the same level as euthanisation and doing drugs as well >.>
Right, onto less flammable topics - Kinji thought it's in Jeanne's blood to be popular, seeing as her kouhais are infatuated with her. Jeanne also have a lot of things in common with him, being from a knight/samurai family, sibling troubles, and so on.
*looks at the time*
Right, spent 1 hour+ on writing this already, time to wrap it up.
-Nazi eyepatch witch found, Kinji alone snuck on board her private plane, and was discovered. Right when the eyepatch witch was changing clothes, and Kinji was turned on by the view. Again, say it with me;
GODDAMN LOLICON. Apparently Kinji is a 'ass man' too >.>
-After the discovery, a aerial fight on top of the plane with Kinji escaping the plane with the nazi eyepatch witch following. Nowhere near as good as the fight with G3. During the fight the two of them fell off and landed on a snowy mountain. The two of them spent a night there, using the parachute as a makeshift tent and hugging each other to keep worm. +1 loli to the harem.
-The nazi reinforcements found Kinji and the witch first, and took them to their arsenal base - a war museum, where you could have a tank at the front door and no-one would bat an eyelid.
-Kinji, due to saving the eyepatch witch and her familiar's life, was spared the death sentence. Instead he was to be bound as the eyepatch witch's familiar. Due to Kinji's 'Cursed' physique (ie, unnatural popularity with women and reputation to abuse it) Kinji is deemed evil enough to form a contract with. This would have been done with a Prana Transfer Ritual (Yes, the kind you read about in the Nasuverse), as the witch explained having a non-human familiar meant they were still pure, and they lose that purity if they get a human familiar; and she was willing to give it up to Kinji. Kinji blames his Tooyama bloodline for his attraction to the girl, which I'm inclined to believe as Blatant Lies. Either way,
GODDAMN LOLICON.
(Oh, BTW, nearly the entirety of the witch's junior comrades was peeking through the door to *cough* study the familiar binding ritual firsthand *cough*. Kinky.)
- Kinji was C@#$blocked by Jeanne's sudden attack, as Jeanne blew the prison apart to rescue Kinji, and she found out the reason why there wasn't much guards at the perimeter was because of Kinji's presence distracting them. Things devolved into a running battle with Jeanne and co hijacking a tank trying to outrun/outshoot their opponent chasing after them. Kinji felt ashamed he didn't trust them enough to come rescue him and he had based all his escape plans on doing it alone (Foreshadowing his dumb move at the start of next volume).
In the process Jeanne was hit by a curse, and it took the Power of Love (TM) to snap her out of it. I don't even have the will to snap and rage at how annoying this part is.
-After the escape into a nearby town, Jeanne lured Kinji out from the hotel they're staying at, where he was ambushed by the 'Demonic Blade'. DB declared Kinji looked wimpier than he expected, and Kinji left himself so open DB could kill him in any one of 65 different ways. DB declared he'll only use 50% of his true power, and he'll kill Kinji in 3 minutes.
End Volume.
