YES it finally happened!

Visual novel Rewrite is getting a TV anime adaptation! It was announced after the Charlotte's final episode. The studio will be 8-bit. Other staff includes:

Director, Series Composition: Motoki Tanaka
Composition & Script Assistance: Romeo Tanaka
Original Character Design: Itaru Hinoue
Character Design: Masayuki Nonaka

Cast
Kotarou Tennouji: Masakazu Morita
Kotori Kanbe: Chiwa Saitou
Chihaya Ootori: Saya Shinomiya
Akane Senri: Eri Kitamura
Shizuru Nakatsu: Keiko Suzuki

Get ready for another sway of people wishing for this to be animated by either KyoAni or White Fox.

But that question alone doesn't really matter to me, I'm just happy 8-Bit gets their hands on more series (especially the already promising Comet Lucifer) and it even had the same director as Kiniro Mosaic and Grisaia series, can he delivers another attempt in movie-sized sensation?

I just can't see this working, not even if it was done by KyoAni. Rewrite is just too confusing and takes too much of an advantage of the VN format.

There's teaser on the site but it's for Japan only.

Oh. They asked Romeo Tanaka himself to handle the script and they asked kai. (who worked witrh Jun Maeda on Clannad VN) to help. Interesting

Yeah I really hope not.

I didn't know Tensho is directing and doing the script. This is in good hands.

Tanaka Romeo involvement elevates the interest level exponentially. Staff and studio? Meh. But Tanaka trumps that for the most part.

We don't know how much episodes they're gonna have for this, if the same thing with grisaia happens here everything is going to be rushed but I think Rewrite probably can be adapted in 24+ ep. At least we have Romeo which is an amazing thing for this adaptation.

The VN is very different from what you'd typically get in a KEY work. Tanaka's influence is there, as is Ryu07's (Higurashi). The problem is that 8bit sucks and their Grisaia adaption is one of the most horrid things I've ever seen (Even if the VN itself was somewhat mediocre anyways).

I like Rewrite, but it's hard to adapt, and we have a questionable studio driving this. Studio is not everything of course, as staff is more important, but studio cannot be ignored. It's all about resources that studio can employ and we know what they are capable of. This will be an uphill battle.
