Well, that turned out even heavier than I thought it would. So Saya isn't pregnant from what I could understand. Rather, Saya admits to having some kind of breast/lactation disorder. This is probably why she bought the pregnancy test because she got the wrong idea (which is ridiculous if she knows she's never been with a man before). Apparently it has something to do with her Keijo style and how much strain it has with her chest. Saya admits that she doesn't have much time left as a Keijo player unless she risks her own health. Nozomi tries giving some encouraging but to no avail.

Seeing Saya tear up made me sad though...

So this is what the uncle meant when he said "I'll leave it to them" in regards to Saya. Guess this means Nozomi, Sayaka and Hanabi will try giving Saya a training menu to prolong her Keijo career so that she doesn't put enough strain on her chest.

It was a misunderstanding after all. The pregnancy test thing was just something the doctor gave her as another thing to check.

Basically Saya is showing symptoms of having her breast power exhausting, something not rare for Keijo players that uses mostly breasts techniques. After some time her breasts will lose it's vigor and become dull, so she would be unable to use her breasts iai techniques.

One way to avoid it reaching that level would be for Saya to change so she mainly uses her butt. But the only techniques she knows are those, and Saya don't want to learn something else.

Saya made a promise with her deceased mother who taught her sword skills, that she would make her mother techniques be the best in Japan. Saya wanted to use them and become first in Keijo, a sport that gathers skilled people from many different fields. That's her driving force for doing Keijo, so she would rather end up shortening her career than giving up on those techniques.

Nozomi don't want that to happen, as she wanted to aim for the top together with all those girls. Now to see what solution they may come up with. One possibility that comes to mind is that Nozomi may help Saya to think of new techniques using her butt instead of breasts but that also take from the sword techniques her mother taught her. That way she would still be doing what she wanted, and she should be able to still use the breasts techniques here and there without worsening her condition as long as it's not too often.

On a lighter note, Nozomi and Hanabi are really fun when they get overexcited together.

I don't think her uncle knows the truth, he probably thinks the same as the girls, that Saya got pregnant. Or maybe he is knowledgeable enough about Keijo to realize she using that actually meant the doctor was testing for possible reasons for her breast situation, and that the fact she was overusing it for quite some time meant he expected it to happen.

I don't think Saya's uncle knows the specific condition with her chest but when he was all like "I'll leave it to them" at the end of ch 129, he probably thought that Nozomi and Sayaka could teach Saya more ass techniques. He probably knows the repercussions of using chest techniques too much but he most likely has no idea that it's already begun to affect his niece.

I was right on the money, Nozomi and the girls start thinking of how to turn kenjutsu moves in ass techniques eventually getting advice / help from Non, Sumire and Ai. And best place to leave a letter of challenge!

Now to see how the fight will go. Saya was impressed by what they came up and really happy they went that far from her, but still decided to sever those bonds before she end up breaking her promise with her mother.

Well, in keijo it's common to let their butts and boobs do the talking. Saya need to realize her mother would want more for her to keep on doing what she loves in a way that is healthy than keeping a promise like that. Maybe her uncle will be the one to tell her that?

This does remind me of what happened a few chapters ago with Nozomi regarding living away from her siblings. She took her mother words as if she was to keep her siblings happy even if Nozomi herself would be sad, while her mother wanted all the three to be happy.

Nozomi and pals trying to develop a new style of fighting for Saya was something I saw coming too. Saya's titty sword game too strong, the poor sandbag haha...

It was great seeing Non again but wow...she's all the way in southern Japan! I wonder how far the other Setouchi / Suruga alumni are compared to Nozomi and the others.

I liked that panel with Nozomi, Hanabi, Sayaka and Kazane facing off against Tsurugi and the shadowed versions of the 4 other strongest ass users in Japan. This kind of establishes them as the big final bosses the main cast is aiming to take down in order to win the title of Keijo Queen.

Saya does know fully well how much Nozomi and the others are working for her sake and she does appreciate it but as chaos said, Keijo battles speak louder than words. I believe that Saya WANTS to trust Nozomi but she's torn apart because this would mean forfeiting everything she's trained for all her Keijo career. Saya has a bushido esque personality so just giving up her sword (rather, her tits) comes off as forfeiting the principles she's worked so hard with. Saya would basically rather go down and retire early using her Boob Draw than prolong her Keijo career and go with a fighting style that's been thrown at her face all of a sudden.

Wow, never realized the parallel / comparison with their moms. I have a feeling the uncle knows a lot about the promise Saya made to her mom too.

We only have like 5 chapters left until the end of the volume mark (137) so most likely we'll see this fight conclude in 3-4 chapters.

Perhaps Saya will finally cave in and use the ass sword / draw during her race with Nozomi. Then followed by some speech from Nozomi / Hanabi / her uncle / whoever reassuring her position.

From the volumes back covers, we know that:

Sayaka, Nozomi, Yuuko and Rin are from Hyougo province so they are on the Hyougo subdivision (also mentioned on the graduation ceremony chapter). Yuuko is on class C so it's understandable they wouldn't meet, but I wonder what Rinrin is doing. At least the author does have an excuse to put her in the story whenever he wants.

Yoshida, Hanabi and Saya (mentioned on the Kyoto trip or somewhere else, she didn't appear in a back cover yet, likely on volume 14) are from Kyouto. Kazane and Kotone are from Hiroshima. Usagi is from Nara. And Non from Kagoshima. Unfortunately Mio profile had no info about where she resides in Japan.

It's exactly as I imagined it to look like. Although I envisioned it to have much darker colors given Meiko's personality and the nature of Sumire's arc. We'll probably have Reiko (Sumire's oneesama), Mutou (jacknife ass Keijo player under Meiko) and Meiko herself in the back / inner hardcover profiles.

What's going on with Sumire in the latest chapters? We never see her compete anymore so it's kind of hard to tell. Also, what class is Sumire right now? She was class B during her arc, right? Did she reach class A?

Nice cover. A pity the volumes are a lot behind the latest chapters. The mangaka releases a new volume every 3 months (13 weeks), while he needs 10 chapters (10-12 weeks if there is a magazine break) to get enough material for a volume. So he just gets father and farther away from latest released volume.

Back on chapter 114, Sayaka mentions Herself, Sumire and Ai already had enough points to be pretty much confirmed for A class. And on chapter 122, Kazane mentions that herself, Non, Mio, Hanabi, Rin and Kotone were the same. Saya also got to A according to latest chapters.

Agreed. This is partially attributed to the fact Sorayomi barely takes weekly breaks from his manga (unless Shonen Sunday's on a double issue and there's no chapter for one week for all series in the mag) but the weekly chapters and tankobons are so far apart. Volume 12 (the Ai / Tsurugi arc) will be released on August this year and that arc went on in the magazines way back in late 2015. I don't think Sorayomi has any say on when the volumes get published though. Either Shogakukan has it so that volumes 12, 13 and 14 get released in 2 month gaps to catch up closer to the weekly chapters or Sorayomi himself takes more weekly breaks every 4-5 chapters but this would suck.

Also, Websunday's Keijo volume 11 product page says that the volume will reveal Nozomi and Sayaka's seiyuu + the production staff / studio behind the anime. Volume 11 is due next week, the 18th.

So, Saya's Chichi Batou can now create air shockwaves that can even outright SHAVE OFF a portion of a woman's hair. Brutal much?

As expected, Saya's samurai-like conduct keeps her from wavering from her boob strike path even if it means shortening her Keijo career. Glad to see Sumire's going to be part of the observers for this fight. We got like 4 chapters til the end of volume arc so this is probably going to end in 3 chapters.

So of the 6 competitors, we got one down already.



Chick on the bottom panel is giving me suspicious vibes with that smile.

My prediction is that Saya's Chichi batou / boobs fail on her in this race and without any means of offensive she gets forced into defensive position while the players above ram her into the edge. Then Nozomi bails her out but she ends up getting ganged up on if the bottom panel racer is much stronger than she seems. This would probably drive Saya to her limit and she ends up using Shiri / Ass Batou on the other opponents until its Nozomi and herself that's left on the land.

Can't wait to see where this goes.

The author made a new blog post about volume 11 and the anime. He comments about the 4 room 309 girls VA's, and how he already knew from a few days ago when he went to see the recording. He really liked their work and thinks Nozomi's VA work is right on the spot.he also mentions he really liked Kotone's Cerberus who also got it's own VA (make watchdog like sounds I think?).

This confirms that the anime will at least reach the elite class test. Also if we already have recordings, then maybe it will start on July?

This is wishful thinking on my end considering we don't even have a PV yet (unless one gets released end of May) but I hope so as long as they don't rush anything. I mean we got a main visual as soon as the anime was announced so one can assume that Xebec has been working on this long before the announcement. Like you mentioned, seiyuu recordings are happening right now so who knows.

I personally hope it airs this July. Similarly to how both Free! seasons aired in the 2013 and 2014 Summer seasons, Keijo is a perfect series for summer in terms of story and theme aesthetic.

Although Xebec doesn't work on much anime so they might surprise us and dish out a 2 cour show just because they imagine a season 2 is less likely given the manga sales. Then at the very least we can see up to the end of the East vs West war arc with cameos by Sumire and company at the end as some teaser for an actual potential season 2 (or as means of telling the audience: buy the manga). Again, who knows.

So, one of the main opponents in Nozomi and Saya's match (name is Oshiri Kaoru) has the ability to create illusions by slapping her ass over and over.

I was right on the money. Saya's chichi batou / boob strike fails on her and she proceeds to get her ass kicked until Nozomi comes in and protects her, leaving our samurai esque Keijo player in a dazed shock. So I imagine next 2 chapters will involve Nozomi taking the others on until Saya gives up and uses their proposed shiri batou / ass strike as means of repaying her kindness back...then sub sequentially settling the match between the two of them once Kaoru and the others are out of the way.

Interesting to see the reaction of the East Suruga alumni who came before Maya and company and how they're definitely way more aggressive in regard to that topic. Saya and Nozomi being rookie A Ranks doesn't help either. It's as Coach Sakashiro told to Ujibe-sensei at the end of the East v West arc: the pro players would have their eye on the current Setouchi alumni now that they've turned the tables. I wonder if Maya and company get the same kind of scorn from their upperclassmen Suruga alumni in the pro field, seeing as they're the first Suruga graduates who lost to the west.
