Well, was right in episode 1 about me calling the girl a dummy for just handing the guard over right away when asked, even if they did save her.
Turns out EVERYONE is dirty, other than the young one and the main guy. RIP Phoenix. The main baddie sees swords as the supreme symbol of strength and the strongest 'swordsman' Looks like he's gonna meet his match against Shāng Bù Huàn who isn't a swordsman at all. Did I see it right, when Gale pulled out Shāng Bù Huàn's sword to look at it and got surprised. It turns out it isn't even a real sword, Or rather it has no edge.

What I did notice was the way he got out of the cell using his kame hame ha. Wonder if that makes him a mage?

Yeah, the way Shāng got out of the cage demonstrated his real power, i guess, and the fact his sword isn't just blunt but doesn't have an edge at all is a part of that.
I was only thinking that compared to everyone else his weapon is the most humble of all, no fancy handles, no fancy scabbard. Given the look I wonder if it's made out of something special. RIP Screaming Phoenix Killer - I think he actually saw this fight was going to be his doom but went into it anyway. Like the 'fastest gun in the west' there ends up being someone faster. I think the bloodbath starts here... and I wouldn't be surprised if Shāng and Dān Fěi are the only ones who get out alive. I also think it's pretty much a given now that Juǎn Cán Yún is going to turn on his aniki as he's clearly idealistic enough to decide being famous isn't worth being a complete bastard. |

There are a lot of spoilers in the behind the scene stuff, especially from ep0.
On that note, ep9 bonus material goes into the art direction of the series and prop design. Perhaps I should clip it out and sub it for you guys as well if anyone's interested Quote:
Also imagine how painful it is to have your hand cut off by a blunt sword. It also explain the hollow hitting sound whenever Syou Fu Kan uses his "sword"

Xuě Yā, you magnificent bastard. Doing all this for fun.
I did like the flashback sequence at the start where Screaming Phoenix Killer was slicing and dicing mooks. That was cool. The parts with the face-changing hood were pretty fun, too. It also looks like Juǎn has left the bad guys team, and I'm still expecting him to have a faceoff with his former mentor. |

So the Ken vs Syuu fight that's shown in ep0 will arrive next ep? Nice.
Even if there are some doubts regarding Lin Setsu A's true intentions, I think he's safely in the Chaotic Neutral camp now. I'm curious at his assessment of Syou Fu Kan's sword though. Was it really just because it's dull, or was it because it's something crazier instead? Though judging by the preview, I wonder if the Genkishuu will call out on that little petty switcharoo. Especially since the signature pipe was replaced by that sword. Kichou up to his usual no good once again I feel. that delicious meal

I don't think shang and dan fei have worked out the implications of Lin's words.
To break Bestu Ten Kai, he will have to lose the Sword in a way that is irretrievable. Simply giving the handle and guard back to Dan Fei means Bestu Ten Kai can just grab it from her again. Therefore, it's highly likely Lin will not be returning either the guard or the handle to her. |

With this our main character has been put in the firing line for the worst end, an enduring fate that will never give him rest. I suspect the sword will be completed, with no one else to shift the responsibility to. He'll have to protect the damn thing from villains all his life if it works out that way.

Those flags (from left to right): wants to hang out with a cutie, wants to be famous newbie Urobuchi said mission completed Lancer Luck rank forever E ----- Also news from the main Pili series says that two characters from this show will later be integrated into the full story as prominent figures in a major organisation. Gdi Pili, now I'm interested in the main series

The behind the scene stuff from ep11 is hilarious, as it goes into the character naming procedure.
Basically what Urobuchi did is to use the basic job class for the characters, and then the people at Pili come up with a fitting one that suits their existing universe as well. Job classes such as Saber, Lancer etc. I would be surprised if Urobuchi actually wrote those poems as they are so Pili.
