well, the beat down is so lacking in my opinion , since the author could have at least give us a little more description about everything but since it is a true beat down, there is not much to write i think, but i must say that knowing the spoiler about the beat down makes the entire chapter even better because since we know what will happen, the entire the discussion and the arrogance that tomoki shows before being beat up is without doubt the best thing about the entire scene , since for me is more about having his pride crushed.

the 大黒天(god of fortune- do not remember his name in English) ; shows up in the dream after makoto almost lose his mind, and mainly affirm that dream-vision is some type of alternative timeline, more precise: makoto ask him if it is fact some type of other world live of his, and he says "that it is and it is not" then he brush it off, saying that makoto would not understand even if he explain but then he assures him to keep living his live freely because in the moment that makoto fought against root's breath atk , he did something special that i will not spoil, and that was a turning point for the current makoto where the changes of that future he had in the dreams to happen have decreased a lot so he should just forget about them.
reason for makoto losing his mind: this dream is basically a infuse of emotions in makoto>>>the dream start and there is no one , but makoto is hearing a voice, that voice is going crazy in his speech, saying that will kill everyone, and is the goddess fault and so on, mainly a hate-crazy speech and the emotions that the voice seems to be feeling is transferred/have influence in makoto.

No, not related to the gifts , at the last dream that i have read so far (chapter 192 end of the chapter),

Daikokuten shows up, to "save" makoto from it. after coming to check if things are all right and also to delivery the gifts .he also comments that the "dreams" are in fact some type of alternative timeline but he won't go in detail because makoto would not understand.
then he goes to assure makoto that the events of the dream, will be unlikely to happen "now" : because how the fight against Root have "unfold" with the "current" makoto.
he(daikokuten) comments that if they had not given the collar to bug to monitor her, at that same fight against root , she would descend on the world to kill makoto with all her efforts and this is also Why he have come to check on him and have happen to "help" makoto with the dream.

about the chapter, by my notes dream4; seems to be 新たな一歩 - at the end of the chapter , because i'm binge reading when i have time, so it is hard to remember all the chapter titles , i can only remember how to events unfold so like i have wrote before: the dreams goes by after meeting hibiki>>dream1 after meeting tomoki>>dream2 demon king>>>dream3

Honestly, I'm a bit more comfortable with Reigokai's translations, and this is significantly because he doesn't have regular "Translator Notes" popping up every chapter or two.

He wasn't talking about weaker when it comes to battle strength. More along the lines of social status or so. Hibiki's the type to have tons of followers and what not. So it's not hard to be surprised at her being on the weaker side.

She is only a naive and spoiled girl, believes herself special because she is "the chosen one" by the goddess and because in her world has always been the perfect girl who has never known defeat, so she was so obsessed with Mio (in spider form) for the first defeat that she had. She also thinks she is more special because she survived Mio, who by the way does not even fight seriously. Practically she has always had "luck". Makoto instead had to forge himself and experience all sorts of situations that changed his view of the world, despite being naive in other aspects too obvious.

They're all different people so faulting one for doing what, in their minds, is the right thing to do is a really naive way of thinking. Each of them, in my opinion, represents a different sort of mindset to Japanese culture;

Makoto just does his own thing at his own pace trying not to disturb the flow or stick out because at his core he's lazy and doesn't want more responsibility. There are pro and cons to his reasoning but imo it's done more harm than good, he wasn't always like this but he seems to take criticism and setbacks harder than a normal person would, but that's an entirely different conversation to be had. He's the typical employee just running down the clock can't wait to get back home to watch the game or play videogames.

Hibiki tries to strive to help in any way she can and is an idealist, but she doesn't understand that she has a shallow perspective and the changes she wants or feels the people need aren't necessarily in their best interest. She's easy to sway to pretty words and takes the "good" at face value which ultimately leads her to be used as a tool for other people to gain influence and further their own agendas. She's the hard worker having other peoples work pushed onto her because they said "oh, you can do it better than me wanna help me out?" sad part is she doesn't even know she's being used she's so eager to please.

Trashmoki or Tomoki or whatever his name is the typical otaku slacker with their head in the clouds, he got all these powers and help from people and uses them for his own self satisfaction. Whenever shit hits the fan or he gets overwhelmed they break down and can't bring themselves back up because they can't handle adversity and were coddled too much. Most of the time they scrape by with talent but when actual effort is needed they fold more often than not. He's the kid at work who got assistant manager because his uncle runs the place.

IMO, the author is a little heavy handed with these character traits and isn't very subtle but it's entertaining and imo it's the supporting cast and world that carries this story.

Well, the think is: hibiki at the start was pretty much like makoto's remember her and a lot naiver as well(for this world standards) , but after navarre's death(do not remember how reigokai have translate her name), she is blinded by the revenge and this have clouded her judgment in a more sub conscious way , this have made her accept things that she would not do otherwise, like many have wrote before, the extinct or slavery of the demon race, the way things is going we can expect a huge mind break in hibiki's future when she became fully aware of what she is planning/doing , just like the one that have happen with tomoki's after the beat down, but what resolution she will have after the mind break, the author have not give much answers yet.
Tomoe's is aware of this as well, and she wants to keep makoto far from her, because makoto have a good amount of respect/admiration for her as well , as you can check in those chapters about their meeting and tomoe is afraid that once her "mind break happens", she would affect makoto's in a negative way as well, this led to a good amount of exposure/friction between Mio-tomoe before his departure to limia.
Now: about tomoki's , i have read about many people making the assumption, that "hibiki " is having the mentality that she is the "chosen one" and so on, but this would fit perfect with Tomoki, not Hibiki.
and this was the reason for Tomoki's mind break, he did not break because of the beat down, he already have receive a few of them against Sofia for example, he lost it because he finally notices that he is fact not the main actor (hero) of the history (world), this is the cause of his break down, not because he receive some punches from makoto, this is pretty much confirmed when lily is pushing him to the experiments and so on, by their conversation, and lily really do not have a good opinion of tomoki because of it as well, but hey, her personal feelings would not be in the way of her revenge against the devil's.


Now a little info to discuss, the students new abilities;
before a little more background information:

Shiki wants to bang Amelia i think: wait and i will explain at the end

the students have implied/told to Shiki, that they want to work for makoto after the graduation since they already have a offer from a few places as well but they only want to work for the firm, each one have their own reason to do so, and already have explained in previous translated chapter as well mainly when they first meet makoto, so i would not write why.
so Shiki brings this to makoto's attention and as answer, makoto is not against it: but he orders shiki to do a complete background check on their fighting strength and abilities:

Jin: have develop a barrier-like power( like the gift given tsukuyomi ); Shiki explains that Jin wanted to create something similar as Makoto's barrier after he got notice of it in their training, but in the end he could not copy it since it is after all a power from gods, but he have created something that is different but similar: mainly it is a "barrier" like power but work in different way that the ones makoto's have; right now he can only expand it to "sense" things like makoto, and also use gravitational force (makes enemies heavy and him lighter and so on).

Yuno: have made a backhanded deal with Mio, and got her hands on super sentai transformation Suit, and after severe studies, she seems to be able to use and also is adapting herself to the costume: because if no one remember yet, all those personal items from makoto, is a curse category stage, that would kill anyone besides him because of the Mp consumption and so on, but again she is adapting herself to it, no one know how.

Schiff: is that elemental mix power, where she fuses different types of elements to create a more powerful spell, we already got a taste of it in the tournament.

Misura: have develop the most Op power in the entire novel so far outside of the main cast; he have develop the ability after tomoe special training after the tournament, at least i believe so ; Shiki calls it "damage delay";
the ability is mainly a delay reaction, by Shiki information: any damage he receives would not appear in him for up to 30 minutes or more, depend of the severity of the damage, and Shiki have tested it with every type of wound outside of a "sure-kill" wound (like destroying his head for example), and even he does not know if the skill would work or not, because they have no tested it.
But the Op part came later, he can "recovery" from the wound before it takes effects, mainly if he receives a hole in his chest for example, he can fully fight and receive healing, and after a little more than 30 minutes, if he had receive "enough" healing to heal the wound, the wound would not cause any effect in him, this is OP because allows him to keep fighting without pause and in the end he just "need" to receive healing before the wound take effect and he will keep 100% all the time.

Amelia: is pure all round, have some of every other abilities, like she can stop casting like Izumo, but not so good like him, can fuse element as well but not so good as schiff as well, you get what i mean, all rounder, is all rounder.

izumo's power is : the ability to "pause/stop" a chant, and start at the same place he was before, we have a glimpse of the more "raw" form of it, in the tournament.

Daenas, is pure physical boost, but it is on a another "level" by words of shiki>> there is a "normal " physical boost "magic" , that he is already very good at, but it have another stage that far surpass the original magic.

Izumo and daena have not been tested because Izumo parents are herocons, and it seems that they will force him to go to limia and mainly help the hero, and Daena have other offer as well, that i do not seem to recall .
After the check of their abilities, makoto accepts to contract them and let Shiki take care of it;

Spoiler for Reunion with the students:

At the reunion Shiki x Students, Shiki accepts Schiff,Yuno but brings up about their father, saying that their father are against and so on, but Schiff and Yuno affirm that they will take care of him.
Jin is a ready to go; without much delay as well.
But when he start to talk about Amelia, he refuses her joining them , even after Shiki have confirmed that makoto already had given the green light before: them we have a good amount of exposure, where Shiki explain that as she is all rounder, she would die without doubt working for them, since she does not have the "special" ability that would turn a fight in her favor, and once she fight someone strong, she would not have any chance of winning and Amelia start crying , and Shiki embraces her: and we have a monologue where Shiki says that he does not know why he is doing that, because:
first: Makoto already had given the green light.
Second: Having those feelings about the entire situation(not waiting/afraid that she gonna die) , is something that he can not understand from the get go, because as undead he should not have "feelings" and so on.
third: the more important of all, Makoto never had planned to put them on the dangerous "jobs", mainly because Rambrands, have asked him as well , and simple because he does not want to; the entire thing employing them is more like Makoto do not want them to be used in the war, because he is afraid that for example, Tomoki may use charm of them, or something similar so he want to keep them under his wing for as long he can, so the entire job thing is almost 0 zero risk job for them, because they would handle "normal" things, and for that they are already very strong already.
So; By the end of it; Shiki start comfort/Embrace the crying Amelia, and gives multiples suggestion, like for her to accept the job that have been given to her in Limia, or Laurel, but she refuses; He ask her, if she really want to be with them(him), and if she really want the only way is for her to forgone her Hymanity, and in the end she accepts, saying that if is for her to be with him, she would do anything.
it may be confuse for some , but in other words Shiki implying to turn/transform Amelia in a Lich as well.

Lime x Hibiki Ship ; Seems to have sink, and the new Ship is Lime X Power and it is sailing a march speed ;
Lime was very close to abandon Makoto and Co, and join Hibiki(mainly because Hibiki's attraction charm as well) , he was already a part time fighter in her party as well and on side note: hibiki truly seems to have develop feelings for him in some way as well, but lime was with very conflicted feelings about abandoning everyone , but on one of their mission in laurel, they are fighting a cloud-toxic monster, and they are powerless against it, so against Lime's own pride, he Ask Tomoe's, for information/help, and Tomoe's gives him a very hard time, because she knows of every move that Lime have being doing with Hibiki and when Lime's is thinking that they are done for, Tomoe ask Lime why he have joined them in the first place, and he does not know how to answer , so tomoe tells him to stay in place that he will have his answer soon.
At asora; Tomoe explain about the cloud in laurel that is the remains of a previous toxic/cloud that makoto have "failed" to destroy, so they set out again, but this time they ask the winged family help, to locate the core of the cloud monster so makoto can destroy it without fail and after all preparations are done, Makoto fires a arrow and destroy the entire cloud in a single move, in front of Hibiki's entire party, and of course only Lime knows what have happen and is at this time, that Lime have yet another revelation about his life, and why he have joined them, he wanted power, but, not a normal power, a power so strong that would be able to trample any adversity and makoto is that power, and because of that he start serving him in the start because he hope/want to be part of it, so he goes back to tomoe and ask for forgiveness, but tomoe being tomoe, let it slide , like everything he have done never happen.
and this is it, for the all text of today, it took me more than one hour to write .
