Episode is out on Funimation and Hulu!
The new OP song is pretty good imo, just as catchier as the previous season's. As expected, we see Ray's clever thinking at work already. The kids also realize the important book and Minerva's connection with it. Pretty crazy how they get chased by a huge monster already. I like how Emma tells the others to think it like a game of tag. The outside world is no joke. This season should be about survival and it's up to the kids to make the best of their circumstances. Can't wait for more tbh. Season 2 also confirmed for 11 episodes today.

A pretty solid start to this. They managed to hang in there, but the route forward is pretty tough. Even if they have a general idea where they want to go getting there will be a challenge. And it isn't exactly a certainty that this Minerva is an absolute ally. There are undoubtedly a mixture of reasons for humans or demons to help or harm these kids.
Their rescuers aren't necessarily enemies because they are demons (or whatever they may classify themselves as). Though of course it's understandable to be a bit stressed. Even if they are different (which isn't certain) others among them do consider humans to be a tasty snack. Not going to last long if they don't keep their guards up. Although I can't see how they are going to last long unless they can get some powerful allies to help protect them.

Damn, that was a pretty thrilling first episode. The forest setting had a real dangerous wonderland vibe reminding me of Made in Abyss. Wish Emma could change her dressing though: All I kept thinking is what a nasty ear infection she'd wind up with.

Episode 2
Aye, so there are demons that choses not to eat human flesh due to...faith. Seems different demons have their own personal beliefs. Pretty interesting storytelling in regards to the history of the world, humans, timeline, calendar, etc. I think it's fair to say that the kids needs every info they can to survie in that world. I like Emma's confidence this episode. She's got the determination to get to the 'human world', to get away from the dangers of the demons while learning how to hunt and survive.

Good for Emma to push herself. It's a difficult but essential thing to be able to procure food whenever the chance is there. Be nice if they had the time or luxury to discard using that method of draining the blood considering the trauma associated with it. But they don't have much in terms of luxury right now.
At least this covers the world situation a bit. A long-standing conflict resulting in splitting the world and the two races distancing themselves. A pretty brutal call to leave people behind to act as livestock. But I suppose the agreement wasn't happening without it. Or at least without even more war. There is some questions to be had here. They had history that seemed to cover long past the point where humanity and the demons went their separate ways right? Or maybe I'm remembering wrong. In that case either demons were making up human history for lols or there is some connection where goods have crossed between the sides. At least they know there is a human world out there. Not necessarily sure how easily they can access it and there's a ton of questions/difficulties ahead of them. But at least they have a bit of hope. And they need to have a general idea of what to do if they are going to make it.

The OP doesn't spoil much, but it shows things that shouldn't be seen until season 3 or even 4. With that and the staff saying they were working on an original story with the author, there's probably going to be major cuts and rewriting.
