Huh... I've found Chinese translations of the first 3 volumes of the LN version.

One major change that I really liked is that it fleshes out Kousuke's character and motivation quite a bit. In volume 1, there's an extra chapter immediately following Kousuke learning Mind's Eye. A dungeon was summoned (evil god cultists are involved) in the middle of a street and trapped Ludi inside. This was an event in the original game, but it was originally supposed to happen later on after the start of school so that Iori and party could go save her, but due to butterflies, it happened right there and then, so Kousuke (dragging Yukine with him) ran in and saved her instead.

Following that event, in the chapter before the epilogue, aptly named "Resolve", we have this bit of introspection from Kousuke, retranslated from the Chinese translation:

Ludi's figure appeared in my mind. Normally she's a heroine who could reach happiness. Magical Exploror's protagonist will definitely become acquainted with her and save her life. That's something that will absolutely happen. If you don't solve this event, then baring certain special routes, the story won't progress.

That is to say, unless the story is purposefully going towards a bad ending or special ending, Ludi will not reach a bad end.

But what about this time?

Ludi almost ended up meeting with misfortune. If everything was following the events of the game, she shouldn't have, right?

To let every heroine reach a happy end, what does that require?

For the heroines of MagiEx including Ludi, to reach the <Happy End>, that requires triggering each person's story quest. Of course, you'll need to face battles, and several character's battle event requires power equivalent to the final boss. Some also don't happen automatically through the story, but are hidden quests.

Will the protagonist trigger the hidden quests to save them? What if there's a time conflict with other events? If it was like this time, where reality differs from the game? If Ludi or Sempai end up affected?

What would happen to them?

If thing turned for the worst, would I be able to forgive myself?

Since Kousuke himself is a fan of the game, it follows that he also likes all the heroines in the game. Thus, there's no way he can just sit on the sidelines and watch as they are met with misfortune. He has the knowledge needed to guide every single one of them to their happy ends, so all he needs is to be able to put that knowledge to use. And if that requires enough strength to beat the final boss? Then he's just going to have to become the strongest.

Thus, this set his motivation for the novel.

Author gave an update on the situation in his activity report last week. To summarize, he's the type that's unable to write when he isn't in the mood, and due to the situation at his workplace being really hectic since January, his schedule has been really erratic leading to lack of sleep or his body being stuck in a sort of half-awake state and has even gained 10 kilos of weight in these last 2 months. He's currently trying to sort things out to get a more normal lifestyle and even talking with his superiors considering quitting his current job.

Once things settle down, he'll try to get back to writing and updating again.

Yeah, nevermind. Been lurking in the novelupdates forum and just stumbled a user giving a link. With volume 4 translated to chinese no less. Except I'm no good in chinese.

Not insomnia. Dunno if you've ever experienced it, but it's basically when you're technically awake, but your body is stuck in a rut unable to exert itself properly. This kind of thing has a higher chance of happening when you have a lot of built up fatigue.

Fatigue is right.

The author's recent activity report says he's too tired out from RL responsibilities to update the WN properly.

His workplace had a shakeup which led to a workload increase, and he still has to help with his family business.
