I love how Sawashiro’s character had a massive rage power-up in DGG and kicked somebody’s ass, then someone else had a massive rage power-up in KnY and kicked her character’s ass.

It's not just the demons, though. Uzui's wives and the other female demon slayers are pretty "enhanced," too. All of them except the Butterfly Squad, anyway. They seem to be immune.

He was using it earlier, but the 2nd flashback gave the impression that as he uses it, and his body heat rises, he'll be more in-tune with the technique, which should translate that he'll be stronger. I think the mark's origins were brought up specifically to denote that Tanjirou is NOT a true heir(fake mark) to the breathing style, but as per shonen usual, we'll find out he's actually the special snowflake different, and better, from all his predecessors. But I appreciate the deflection though .

I'm guessing that with Mugen Trains runaway (heh) success you could say that ufotable had more money than usual to throw at this. The fight animation has been completely bonkers even by normal ufotable standards.

Why did it take me so long to realize Uzui's swords are basically smaller Zangetsus? I know the author is a big Bleach fan, so it's not really a surprise.

I can't tell if Uzui is terrible at gauging his opponent's strength (sneak attack + Daki being weakened after getting the shit pounded out of her by Nezuko, of course he managed to behead her) or if, in a twist, she's actually supposed to be weak with her brother being the main reason she holds that rank.

Just compare her to Lower Rank 1, who would've been the next strongest in the ranking. Tanjirou fought both, and the only worry he had against LR1 was that short period where he got spammed with sleep spells. However, he had no issue cutting LR1's neck with either Water or Sun breathing.

Daki, however, he had to go full-stop Sun mode or whatever you want to call it to overwhelm her, and that's after training for a few months on Sun Breathing.

So really, it's just that Uzui is much stronger than her.

For the previous defeated Hashira credited to Team Daki, I assume they didn't have the luxury of Uzui getting a free neck cut on an obviously distracted and already injured Daki.

So the previous Hashiras probably would eventually beat her during a battle, and then get finished off by the very fast and much stronger brother that pops up when their guard is down + them probably getting at least some battle damage themselves against Daki
