i do'nt really understand why on those 2 part of this episode they break the flow and go straight to the conclusion then revert and show what happen in a immediate flashback. that was so jarring.
so this is what the money making dance look like animated, cute. i feel like this is one the the adaptation where it feel weird to have it rush so much and jump around scenes so fast. i can follow it because i know the sources materials but how does first time watcher feel about this ? |

I do wish they'd stop rushing. There were fun moments completely skipped over. Like the lady knight turning giddy over reverting to her young, soft 16-year-old body, and looking forward to finding a man. Her biggest crush is Roland, but she figures that's out of the picture. She briefly feels some disappointment that all the muscular strength she'd built up was gone, but figures not losing her experience is enough. Then her superior sees the grin on her face and makes a snide comment, and she's shocked that what was meant to be a light punch of annoyance sent the man flying through a wall. Apparently she's even stronger than before. And to top it all off, Roland, the man she'd longed for and who inspired her to enter the knighthood, says he wants to have a long talk with her later and I believe implies an intent to keep her close, as a subordinate if nothing else. |

Yeah I was definitely kinda surprised they fast tracked everything with Fran though they might elaborate when she becomes a more permanent character. Its clear from the OP/ED that both her and Roland are going to figure prominently.

With the ability to create any type of potions she wants, I am surprised she did not create stat boosting potions for herself, so she won't die so easily. It would also help her fight off bandits and monsters.
If magic is low in this world, then she can create potions to boost her magic abilities, so she can do all sorts of things with magic. She can live her dream world, but it seems like she is not thinking about how at all.

Honestly, I'm surprised Kaoru wasn't immediately taken away or put to death when she openly accused the king and other high-ranking nobles of abusing their wives along with rampant infidelity. Even if it's an open secret, speaking openly and with so much contempt directly in front of the king and queen seems like it would be a very grave offense.

episode 2:
hmm, now that Hoshizoku Telepath and Hiki Monmon are in my currently watching list. This potion anime is not fun anymore. dropped, but I'm leaving it with a decent score of 6 on mal and anilist.

The royalty and church seem pretty generally forgiving of all this. I suppose the nitro glycerin bombing helps, but I'd expect some assassination attempts at some point. But I suppose that's not the tone/direction this is going for.

Well, it's finally Ed time!
His voice was not 100% what I expected, but close enough I guess And after that cliffhanger ending(though not really with how OP the MC's ability is), I now got to wait till next week to see how they handle one of the few parts I'm actually interested in seeing animated

wow this part really felt different than the novel. the attack from kaoru was much more deadly and not "i'll just make you feel pain in your chest but not kill you", no they killed them, cruelly. one of the 3 she filled his lung with water, the other she released his stomach acid in his body the last one she poisoned.
other more minor changes but that contribute to the mood was the recruting of the horse to get her to the other front. in the novel she barter with the lot and offer them the mare of their dream and after the horses were done being chocked to see a human talking horses language they started fighting for her. then after that she didn't travel with roland and fran but alone leaving them in the dust, and fran and roland were desesperatly trying to keep up with an potion powered horse rushing ahead. the second part is less impactfull but the attack being currated and "don't worry i wont kill you" is sad. i hope she guy that got fran will get the same treatment than in the novel in next episode but i suspect not |

Also, I really wish they hadn't translated "Kishin" as "Fearsome". I'm not sure of the kanji in the original, but the only "kishin" I know of translates as "Demon God". Which fits very well with that slasher smile and the light in her eyes when she's killing people. Yeah, the moment Celes laughed at Kaoru's mention of becoming an old lady, I just knew she'd been granted not just the body of a fifteen-year-old, but a body that will remain fifteen years old forever. And we end up with a trope that FUNA seems to like: the accidentally superpowered heroine desperately travelling far and wide, partly for her own ends, and partly to ensure that certain royal parties don't track her down and again try to force her to become a queen. Same thing is part of why Mile refuses to return to being Adele. |

Yup "The next instant is head exploded into countless tiny pieces" is the novel exact world. i'm glad the anime didn't turn it into another less goresome thing. i'd say creating an explosive right inside his brain would do the trick but controlling it to just blast the head and not half his body have to be tricky
