@Rebecca Chambers

It really depends on your style of games. You don't want us to recommend you fighting games when you're into rpg or fps right.
... "converting your old playstation games" is only possible if you're willing to go the illegal route. FF7 isn't available from the PlayStation store (for PS3) yet, as far as I know, for example. The "illegal route" requires installation of unofficial firmware, which if not installed properly could permanently screw up your PSP.

And the people that download such custom firmware and don't have a clue what the risks are and what to look for, but still go ahead and flash their brand new shiny PSP: a brand new very shiny, very expensive paperweight.

Very good advice you give there..

I have in my posession 4 PSP's of friends of mine who have flashed their psp's with such "easy installers".. I can now install undiluted chips in them to make them work again.

Just because it is called "easy installer" doesn't automatically mean it works every time, especially when left to people that don't really know what they're doing.

I find that hard to believe
hundreds of people have claimed it works fine
except for the person who messed around with the installer and files
I even used it, it works fine

I dont see how hard it is to click a .exe and wait for it to transfer to your psp drive
then start the eboot on your psp, and let it install and your done

but come to think of it
some one did create a easy installer that all it did was brick
so i think that those people got a hold of it and used it
but after a few days the easy installer was taken off the web site
