Asagi's eyes /glow red/ when she really gets into it.

I'm pretty sure she's a lot more than a mere computer prodigy. Dunno what she is, though.

I was wondering, will Kojou turn Yukina into a vampire in the future?

Is that even possible? I don't know. We know that most vampires are actually born, those girls on Vatler's ship wanted Kojou's kids so they'd have powerful vampire babies and such, and in order to become the progenitor Kojou had to /kill/ Avrora with some sort of crossbow. And apparently Vampire Reina was literally the child of Kojou and Yukina.

It might be that you don't turn people into vampires in this setting. Vampires are literally descended the usual way from the progenitors.

Just so you guys know, sucking enough of a persons blood makes them a blood servant which is considered a type of vampire and endows them with a portion of a vampire's powers. The blood servants of primogenitors are considered second generation vampires. In any case, regardless of romance, turning your girlfriend into a blood servant isn't a choice to be made lightly.

[pedant]Made lightly[/pedant]

You all may recall Yukina undergoing a medical check at the end of the first arc, the results of which sounded enough like a pregnancy test that when Asagi and Nagisa overheard them they completely flipped out on Kojou. That was to check to make sure he hadn't accidentally turned her into a blood servant by biting her.

Ah, interesting. So it's kind of both through normal reproduction and another way.

Makes me wonder if Avrora made him into one and forced him to kill her.

Am about six months late to the party and watching the show. Currently on episode 2.

Seeing Yukina eagerly proclaim everything in the supermarket to be a weapon, I couldn't help but laugh. Sounds like Michael Westen and Fiona Glenanne might have moonlighted as instructors at her school.

Empire of the Dawn felt very rushed, with only two episodes, and Reina barely getting enough screentime on her own. But then again Natsuki shut her up, because otherwise she'll give away too much of the series future plot. The highlight was the post-credits scene, which was a huge tease for the events in the future. It's at least nice to know in advance that many of the present characters (the ones we care about anyway) survived at least to 20 years in the future, so there's probably not going to be a dark everybody dies ending.

Score: 8.4/10. In terms of the show as a whole, it feels like an introduction, and the main action of the plot has not yet begun at all. The arcs covered have been character introduction, worldbuilding, and dropping plot hooks. I think there's more than enough elements for an epic storyline, which hopefully will begin in a future sequel.

Well the reason why empire of daw felt rushed is ironically it is an extended short story. The short story is pretty much just about the first half of ep 23 removeing any mention of the dragon and Yukina haveing to go back.Reina was sent back home durring the fight with Yukina because Yukina wouldn't let her explain as she was mad. Then it goes to the epilogue of ep 24 showing Moegi is also a vampire.

So if I understand you correctly, most of this arc was anime-original, and modified to served as a finale by adding an enemy to fight against and repeating the end of Right Arm of the Saint with a broken Sekkarou?

The character that Yukina's actions at the hardware store brought to mind for me was Full Metal Panic's Sousuke Sagara. Alas her later actions don't remind me of him all that often.

As for the last episode, it felt like it could have used a few extra minutes of run time.

iie, senpai. He is not a lolicon, even he misses her. In his flashback, he befriends with a girl. It's mean for her to make him her servant. Note, girls in this show are often much older than they look. For example, his homeroom teacher is young by magic. Asagi is a gal in the sense of gyaru fashion. So, he does not harbor Araragi-like-feeling-toward-Shinobu. Some people complained that he needs viagra. He is stil a gentleman. He needs to kiss and hug girls due to the crisis. He needs to suck them to get stronger. Maybe it's a lousy exceus for kisses and hugs. They are in the crisis, and they are not in the mood.

There may have been some complicated interactions between meeting Avrora, him being made into a blood servant, and her making him kill her. After all, we have fairly compelling evidence that he did kill Avrora, both with his flashback, and in the simple fact that he is the fourth progenitor now. It was also fairly obvious in the flashback that he didn't want to have killed her. It's not an illogical conclusion that she, for some reason, concluded that she needed to die, and forced him to kill her.

Also, I'm not at all sure where the lolicon comment comes from. The post you were quoting made no suggestion of sexual interaction, beyond noting that people can either be born as vampires (like Reina and Moegi), or be turned into vampires under certain cirumstances through being bitten.

Yeah, not sure what GundamZZ's post was about, but I was merely saying that it was interesting that vampires can be created both through normal reproduction and through biting through the blood bond.

As for Avrora, he wouldn't be a lolicon anyway if he did feel something for her at the time - even ignoring the fact Avrora was Really 700 Years Old</obligatory TVTropes Reference>. After all, he's only 16 now. Back when he met Avrora, he was either 15 or 16. She was in the middle school outfit in a flashback, so was pretending to be from 12-14, and from appearance, 14 is most likely. A 15-16 year old dating a 14 year old isn't a lolicon. Pretty normal I'd say.

So it might happen accidentally like pregnancy. With the amount of unprotected bloodsucking they engage in, Vampire Yukina seems like just a matter of time.

You'd think after the last blood sucking that she should have turned. The last one was pretty aggressive.

Plus they made a comment about her magic increasing since she came to the island.
