Sky gods should be out of its reach normally since they were never really on the battle field.

Without taking them out restoring the world would be useless anyway.

To begin with Shinju-sama doesn't have the power to completely kill the god of heaven/vertex, thats why she has been protecting the human for centuries instead by give part of her power via Taisha. From this equation there is no need for trusting in humanity at all, because even if Shinju puts trust in human the ways to defeat god of heaven so limited. Its not like Shinju can put last of her power on a girl centuries ago to defeat a god with no physical body outside the zone, humanity would literally ended if Shinju does that. It was a lucky situation that god of heaven reveal physically in desperation to stop Shinju, and Tougo's talk about trusting humanity was exactly only fit for this moment.

Yeah. In a way this was the only moment this could work because the gods made the mistake of coming to the battlefield themselves.

While I think the execution can be slightly better if the show had an extra episode, I like the resolution a lot. I'm a sucker for developments that celebrate the potential of humankind, ala TTGL or NGNL Zero. Instead of choosing the path where humans abandon their ego and ascend to a utopia in which time is stopped forever, the story set them on the path of suffering, but living. One thing I hadn't thought about until now is the contrast between the Hero Club and Taisha. One can view the Hero Club as an advocate of the human spirit; all of the core tenets are encouraging the girls to be resilient, hopeful, and helpful to others. Meanwhile, the Taisha's sole mission and focus is on how to appease and borrow the power of the gods. Relying on oneself vs relying on others.

So now that there is no shinjuu or heavenly gods, I can't expect any more sequels of this? Just prequels like nowayu or komeyu?
At least make this 12 episodes :/

Well... let humanity manage itself for a century, just to see some new religion rise thus giving birth to a new "malevolent" deity. Have then a cult against that, praying to another make-believe god but making it somehow real, ass-pull some chosen girls from that cult to free humanity (aka new yuusha system) just to realise how fool they have been : the cult was the bad guys all along !

ET VOILA !

Who knows what the future has in store long term. But I'm fine with this kind of route for the end of this show. It isn't even that the main cast believed their choice was perfect. They didn't exactly have a big plan or expect things to go as they did. They simply chose to live, fight, and if it came to it 'die' as humans. Giving up on being human in order to become some other kind of entity just wasn't in the cards for them, especially if their friend as sacrificed to make that happen.

Frankly all for sacrificing the overhanging deity and feeling a kind of mean enjoyment of that association going down. They gave up on humanity a long time ago. Constantly choosing one terrible form of sacrificing kids after another.

It's an uncertain future even with the victory attained. But it is a future where humanity will have to take care of itself. For better or worse it isn't about leaning on deities any longer.

I like that this show force us to use logic to make everything make sense!

I agree, it's the final battle but with how little the fight scenes that were shown, it's a bit hard to feels the desperation in this situation. Some scenes in previous episodes can use longer scenes too to explain things better, like how Tougo deduce that the book in Yuuna's shelf contains important information based on it's odd position. Will be much better if in previous episode, they show the scene where Yuuna says that she never read the book. Then during the burglary scene Tougo get the flashback to that scene and make the deduction.

I think we need at least 10 episodes for this Yuusha no Show arc.

This series should have been longer, but at least I can say that I found this ending better than the ending to season 1. I don't think this ending was perfect, but I did like some of the ideas of the ending such as how Shinjuu was sacrificing itself was also it atoning for everything it put the girls through. This series is good at raising tension and stakes, but not at resolving them smoothly.

It's hard to say where the franchise will go from here. This really does feel like it's the most logical end point.

Yuuna: "Heroes have guts..!!" (cue Gin's burning passion and Yuuna's Giga Drill Breaker Yuusha Punch)

Looks like Aki-sensei will channeling her inner Mio/Nick Fury..

i'm pessimistic that we will get another anime. 1 cour show is compressed to half cour, the animation quality while still good is not as good as season 1. I think it was a miracle that we still get this season 2.

Forgot to reply to this thread until now.

In my opinion, Yuusha no Shou was nowhere near as good as the first anime or Washio Sumi no Shou that came before it. I'm fine with either SOL or magical girl, but this was mostly just forced drama. It doesn't help that this show tries so blatantly to be emotionally manipulative; I never tolerate this kind of thing anymore.

Whoever subbed this show is silly with all the changes compared to the first anime's subtitle job but personally I don't mind as much since at least I know what they are talking about (except the stuff related to Shinto; I'll never understand that even if the subs were perfect).

Watched episode 1:

Nice to see the bedridden girl Sonoko in action again. Surprised that she's actually a very cheerful person.

Things would be looking fine. But why did Tougo disappear? And who is messing up their memories?

Episode 3:

Tougo and Sonoko "get well" vibes makes people feel warm. xD

But sempai get hit by a car. Things are getting serious. ><

Episode 4:

Karin can sense something is wrong. But Yuna can't tell Karin because the badluck will spread?

Episode 5:

Certainly, one requirement for joining the Taisha is to become a good liar.

Episode 6:

Glad they were able to rescue Yuna.

However, several questions. That thing shooting beams that Yuna punched at the final battle, is that the Shinju or another god?

Also, did all the vertex disappear? The fires seem to be all gone. Problem if there are still enemies, because none of them can transform anymore.

8/10
