2. Sadly the Delta vs Tyrant SS hasn't been translated in Chinese yet. We already know the results (Delta won) but seeing the fight would give us a better idea of how much stronger Delta and by extension Alpha (who is equal to or slightly stronger than Delta in combat) is compared to the rest of the characters.

3. Cid didn't get the idea from Claire. He noted that if Claire didn't drag him towards the thieves in the daytime he would've killed the thieves by himself during the night which implies that this wasn't the first time. Interesting to note that Cid tested out how viable slime was as armor vs the thieves by intentionally taking a hit from them so he was developing the slime suit before 6 years old (which also meant he fought slimes before he was six). Needless to say even as a kid, Cid was a monster.

1. It was never said who enrolled him, I think the one who enrolled him may be Rose thinking that he really did all the way to that city for the sake of going through the trial or Alpha enrolled him expecting that if shadow fights in the trial the special door to that special dimension would appear.

One day, during Beta's report visit he talked to her about ways to encode secret messages that he hasn't taught to them yet, Beta begged him to teach her that, Cid wrote that message with codes from this world and using languages and signs from this world that he never taught to the girls and if they were able to decipher it he would teach them japanese and other things, he was convinced that they would never be able to decipher it.

Cid hangs out with them because he thinks that a important part of pretending to be a mob is to have friends that are as mob as you're pretending to be, basically because he's convinced that the mobs always move on packs.

Anyway, Cid, someone who has possibly been reading light novels, might have understand a thing or two about the situation he was in, particularly Claire and Alexia.

1) He read the cliche of the older, accomplished sister hence why he grooms Claire. Not only Claire will take all the spot light, this could allow him to do whatever he wants without question or interference.

2) The only reason why Cid does not want to be in a relationship with Alexia because he knows Light Novel Heroines like her are always red flags to bring in more girls interested in him. And quite frankly, he's right. He did gain the love and affection of Sherry, Rose and now, Christina.

1) Are there any SS for Volume 2 of the Light Novel?

2) Will there be a darker background for Minoru Kagenou? Like his original parents are dead, abusive etc or he did actually retained brain damage when he got reincarnated?

Questions I needed answering.

1. When Cid first found Alpha, she had nothing on her, particularly clothes. Why was her clothes stripped from her since she was going to be destroyed anyway.

2. If Cid truly doesn't realize his own mistakes, why did he change from the muscle form he had in his old life to the skinny form that resembles his previous incarnation?

3. If Cid's methods in curing the Magic Deviation is such an effective and better method, why didn't the Order of Diabolos uses this for themselves to improve their abilities?

4. Why didn't any of the Seven Shadows ever informed Cid that Mitsugoshi Co belongs to him? That could have save a lot of trouble, including when he decided to switch sides with Yukime?

5. Was the part between Delta and her brother meant to be ambiguous? From what I can tell, it seems that while Ole wasn't those that hunted his sister but it's implied he did intentionally allowed the people to try to kill her in order to become chieftain. Then, why didn't he claim the seat? And what was going on his mind that make him think that offering his sister to become a concubine is a good idea?

6. What was Sherry Barnett planning to do when she reaches Rawagas?

The Chinese finished translating volume 3. Overall my impressions of this volume was negative.

My biggest gripe with this volume is that the author didn't write any other SS outside of the Claire SS and the "War Chronicles of Shadow by Beta". Compare that to 4 SS plus the "War chronicles of Shadow" in volume 1/2 and it comes off as lacking. We even didn't get the Tyrant vs Delta fight as a SS (unless I somehow missed it or the Chinese translator didn't translate it) and also the "Trade War Arc" was overall shorter. The author completely deleted the Alpha flashback chapter and also the Iris training to catch up to Shadow chapter.

The "trade war arc" was changed but most of the changes were superfluous and it didn't change the overall story. The most key change was that Yukihime didn't say anything about fucking over Mitsugoshi to Cid in their initial talks about creating fake currency so Cid wasn't aware that he was harming Mitsugoshi by doing this therefore he comes off as less of a asshole and more a bumbling idiot. In fact in his narration he actually thought that he was helping Mitsugoshi by creating fake currency to screw the trade alliance over. This also made the whole "I'm actually helping you by betraying you" letter more coherent because this was what LN Cid believes whereas WN Cid knew he was screwing over Mitsugoshi. Obviously people who complained that Cid was coming off as too malicious would be happy (I know there was a lot of these people including XFire) but I'm indifferent to the change.

There are some other changes like Cid arriving earlier to rescue Yukihime (in the LN he arrived the instance Yukihime was cut whereas in the WN Yukihime got cut then kidnapped before Cid arrived) but like I said it was superfluous and didn't really change anything. I would not rec this volume for people to buy if they're looking for new content since the author didn't change anything big and actually removed some stuff. In the afterword the author said that he was aware and embarrassed that his WN and LN are so similar so volume 4 will be a completely rewritten story.

As a side note the "War Chronicles of Shadow sama by Beta" was pretty cute. Unlike the other one's where Beta basically summarizes the events more or less accurately from her POV, in this one she actively changes the "vampire queen fight" to one where she's the main heroine and the goal of Cid in the fight was to protect her. She even called herself Shadow's "lover" lol. Also there was a mention that Elizabeth the Vampire Queen was grateful for Shadow Garden's help and swore to come to their aid when they need it.

In the Delta character description it was mentioned that in the 7 Shadows she has the highest "pure combat strength" so it's even more of a bummer that we didn't get to see her fight Tyrant.

1. She was described as a "lump of meat" in the WN/LN so presumably she had deformed to the point where her previous clothes could no longer fit her and it teared off her.

2. Cid was never described as muscular in the WN/LN even in a flashbook. That was a manga exclusive trait.

3. Cid is basically a giga genius when it comes to all things related to combat and magic so it's reasonable to think that the Order just simply didn't have anyone talented enough to figure out or even think of the technique that Cid uses.

4. Like the other person said Cid barely listens to him and the members of Shadow Garden have a bad habit of leaving out key details since they assume that Cid already knows everything.

5. In the Delta SS in volume 2 it was said that Delta's father hunted her down when she came down with demonic possession. The beast people respect strength above all else so her brother was simply not strong enough to become chieftain. Offering her sister up as a concubine followed a similar logic, the beast people follow the strongest and being the mistress of the strongest could be considered a symbol of status so to her brother offering her to become the mistress of the strongest beast person was actually a incredible opportunity. Unfortunately for her brother, Delta views Cid as the strongest so by offering her to become someone else's mistress turned out insulting to both her and Cid therefore Delta promptly killed her brother.

6. Sherry presumably wants revenge on Shadow because Shadow killed her adapted father. Going to the Academic City to further her research is likely just to come up with a device that can kill Shadow. It should be noted that her father who was part of the Order wanted her to go there so there's probably already Order members ready to manipulate her to their advantage.

Yea he definitely got a lot of negative feedback for that part which is why he changed it.

Some other semi notable changes I didn't notice until I read a comment on that part was that the author lowered Yukihime's age in her backstory (her age is listed as ??? in her character bio) as well as changed the wording of the whole "sold herself into prostitution" part of her backstory to be more vague in terms of whether it involved sexual relationships or not. As the comment notes both these changes and the change of Cid being nicer was meant to pander to his audience more which I feel negatively on but w/e.

I'm actually glad those changes were made as it totally fits Cid. Remember when Cid said to Zenon, those that use borrowed power are pitiful and worthless. The change in LN at least ensure that Cid doesn't sound like a hypocrite as he's actually stealing back what the Great Commerce Alliance has stolen.

But most importantly, it does call back when the Shadows first depart from Cid. Cid, despite selfish, idiotic and clueless he is, all he wants is someone to join him in indulging his fantasies. And that's why Cid refusing to screw over Mitsugoshi Co makes sense, he does not want to betray his friends. Ironically, the Shadows felt so insecure about how to be worthy in Cid's eyes but they actually did, by becoming friends with him.

Conclusively, all Cid ever wanted was to have friends.

• It's disappointing that the Alpha and Iris chapters were removed, but I can kind of understand why. The Alpha chapter didn't really connect with the story so I get that. The Iris chapter was more connected, but overall nothing came out of it, so I can kind of see why a little.
• I agree that most of the changes were indeed superfluous, but I do like that Cid comes less of a jerk.
• I asked this before, but since no one answered, I'm asking again. There was a Alexia, Beta, Rose & Sherry SS in volume 1, what SS was in volume 2
• Most interesting thing I found was the mention about the author's comment about rewriting volume 4. So lately, the WN releases have slowed down considerably, I'm wondering if he's planning on dropping the WN in favor of the LN going forward?

Yeah, not as big a fan of those changes as I am the first. At least with Cid you can make an argument in favor of it being more in line with his earlier characterization.
