See thats what you miss when you dont watch the ED credits Very cool though.

Two things I noticed after rewatching 6 (first time got cut short...oh gawd did I just make that pun...)
1) I think this is the first time Neuro talks about using up his power. Up until now (which is why I asked in the manga thread) he didnt seem to have any type of limit but we see he does.
2) Yako reminded me much more of manga!yako in this epi. Her little monologue at the end was nice.

I just watch episode 6 also and I enjoyed it. Most of the time when I watch this series, I come away thing that episode could have been sooooooo much better. But the ending kind of bugged me. Since when are high school girls supposed to catch serial killers? The police don't even like to go up again them alone. And what exactly does she owe Neuro? All he does to knock her around then threaten her life? Why does she feel any obligation towards him? The overly plucky too easily put on anime girls are very unbelievable when you un-suspend you belief.

They handled it a bit better in the manga but that question was always in the back of my mind.

Is it just her father's mystery, appetite, sense of justice, the chance to observe human nature or is Neuro the persuasive/lovable bully.

That question of motivation is vexing but I'm still having fun watching.

She says that she will stay with him until he solves her mystery (her dad's murder). It's different in the manga though.

The main reason is that Neuro threatens her. Nothing wrong there, right? Because he really would kill her if he wants and unlike a human, there are SOO many creepy ways he could torture and kill her (though I admit humans have some disturbing ways to torture people too). Better to keep your life and work part-time, than turn into a corpse, right?

Technically, Neuro's the one that catches the criminals. Yako couldn't stand a chance.

The police to whom? If you are talking about the criminals, well... would you? They're all crazy lunatics and very dangerous at that. If you are talking about Yako and Neuro, it's probably because she has a successful reputation as a detective, they know she can solve it, and if they don't, Neuro would force them.

Epi 7, I forgot did they show Sazazuka following the guy the whole time in the manga? I dont think they did but I dont remember either. I know they cut the part with his grandma though, it was just mentioned in the anime that she followed him.
Also if I remember the guy doesnt manipulate the camera but has someone else fill in for him at the store. Either way it still works.

Subbed Episode 6 felt a bit weird to me. Yako seemed to act more like her manga self and was almost going to bail on trying to catch the killer. Neuro seemed a lot angrier in the episode too like he was disapointed in Yako which seems strange to me since Neuro doesn't seem to expect Yako to be able to do anything on her own.
Episode 7 was good though because I didn't really understand anything the first time I watched. I think it was a good explanation to how he found out the "real criminal". I don't know why but the part at the start seemed to bother me though for some reason.

Spoiler for Yako Thoughts:

I said in a previous post that I liked Anime!Yako better so that bias will probably seep into this. In order to understand Anime!Yako's motives first we need to see what separates her from Manga!Yako.
First Anime!Yako's father's murder is still unsolved (It's solved in chapter.3 Vol.1 of the Manga). Neuro found Yako later in the anime (She was moving house in the anime. She was at her father's funeral in the manga). Thirdly Yako's mother went overseas in the anime.
This all serves to make Yako lonelier and suffer more emotionally. This in turn makes Yako want to see other people not die and lets her combat motive rants with RAW EMOTIONAL POWER.
The anime also made Yako be with Neuro so he could solve her father's case changing the relationship to a more deal with the devil sort of thing instead of a "I can crush you" relationship. This can also be seen by how Anime!Yako was vowing to solve her father's death when Neuro appeared. Manga!Yako was just sad when Neuro came.
In conclusion Anime!Yako is with Neuro mainly to fill in emotional voids in her heart. Manga!Yako is with Neuro because he threatens her Manga!Yako however is more helpful to Neuro because she is more intelligent and less sad.

Gah more refs to what a pig Yako is...I was hoping we were passed that.
I really liked the scene where Yako was laying in bed and Neuro was laying on the ceiling directly above her (plus he was just in his vest! ) That scene just looked cool.
Again quite obvious to who did it but again still entertaining.

-Awww c'mon man, no new OP/ED? That's harsh.
-Animation was fairly nice.
-This story WAS from the manga (volume 4ish) but like, half of the actual episode was filler. Especially how Yako got the tickets at the beginning, and the fact that Godai randomly came with them instead of staying at the office.
-I was hoping they were going to animate the big story arc in the second half, but seeing as they cut a certain character from this episode I guess they're not going to. I get this feeling that they're just making this up as they go.
-LOL the American guy's Japanese sounds so funny. I like how he throws in random English words.

In the manga, Yako gets the tickets from her mom.

Various comedic moments are cut.

THEY CUT HARUKAWA OUT COMPLETELY!! NOOOOO! That almost certainly means there will be no HAL or Sixs for the anime!

They didn't bother to show us just what kind of dreams Neuro has.
Drool dodging - In the anime, Yako was awake and dodged it. In the manga, she woke up and moved her head just as the drool was about to hit him, sheer luck.

Nose - In the anime, the nose snapped upwards. In the manga, it was squished.

THE TOOL! THE NATTO! - In the anime, Neuro just pointlessly put natto on David. In the manga, Neuro uses "Evil Badger" (translated Japanese is "Queen that Will Not Be Born") which enters David through the mouth, controls his mind, and forces him to LOVE natto and become immensely addicted to it.

Was it soo hard to add the important things instead of inserting that pointless eating scene?! *sob* *despair*

Even though I don't know who "HAL or Sixs" is, cutting them out seems to be an indicator that this series is going with the fluff route >_< anyway though...I hope X gets solved...we need another epix fight

According to a post over on the Neuro lj comm, epi 16 and 17 will introduce HAL, this is a good thing Whether or not we see Sixs though is anyones guess.

Well, they seem to be skipping various characters, but those brothers are not major players in the arc (I think), so it shouldn't be too bad.
According to JP wiki, the anime will have 25 episodes. I haven't found that anywhere else, so I still can't be sure.
But if so, they could end the series with Sixs' appearance which marks the fall of another villain (though Ai doesn't seem to exist -_-).
Also, that still leaves Yako's father's death's mystery. They should just leave it unsolved to prevent strange divergence from the manga.

So we get the case with the guy with the big nose. And he just happens to be an annoying American with a gun in his pants? Eww.
Unless it's worse and... um I'll stop there.
Although I thought that foreign people weren't allowed at Japanese hot springs. Well that's not important. Unfortunately this wasn't a terribly interesting episode for me. NO JUN!!! Or Sasazuka who's just as good but doesn't deserve exclamation points.
Actually for me some of the best parts were bigeater!Yako don't know why this trait gets her so much hate but the best part was most definitly Yako cheering up Mr. Gajin and then her finger accusing him.

Well if things are to be believed we'll get to see HAL. Yay laptop boy who's name I can't remember. Finally you get animated.
Although apparently this means we won't get Smile Corporation. I think. I do hope we still get the arsonist though and the three HAL defenders.
I wonder if they will somehow try to tie it in with Histerrier since it appeared on her computer.

Now I still like the anime but everything about it screams "I should be better than this" which sucks.

Yup in the manga he didn't follow him just neuro and yako.In fact i don't think he was involve in that case at all, which is why he pay yako a little visit a bit after that.

That was...umm...pointless. Yeah we all knew it was a filler but even for that, very predictable. I will say couple of decent moments. Jun trying his own vers of Yako's patented "the criminal is you" thing was great. After the sea monster Neuro called, got that guy, Neuro's reaction was funny though very non Neuro-like but I did giggle.

Also Im about to write a fanservice letter to MadHouse telling them, enough with the food jokes...

Best thing about this epi imho was the preview for 16!! We will see HAL! And the kid with the glasses appears too (who's name I always forget)

Well, it was rather pointless... But at least they connected it to the previous episode. And there were some funny moments like Kishi/Jun's copycat of Yako and the Godai zipper scene.

Evil Wind was pretty cool too, compared to some of the other anime-only tools like Evil Insole.

Next time - YES! Professor Harukawa and Higuchi Yuuya! I hope they don't slack off and cut out the good parts like the 7 Tools.

So the Yako Katsuragi detective agency is driving home when they stumble upon a car crash which seems to have warped space-time to take them to Scotland. Where they meet JUN buying loch monster merchandise. Some guy dies and Hilarity Ensures.
If this series went over 2 cours this would have been a perfect episode. Too bad this episode will probably mean some manga stuff will be cut out or rushed.
But JUN!!! buying merchandise and copying Yako and trying to prove himself. And he bought a tie for Sasazuka. Aww. So this episode was hilarious. There were too many awesome moments to list.
Why MadHouse why did you decide to make the series so short. Neuro deserves at least as long as TGQ(45). I'd prefer closer to Kindaichi length though.
Anyway in the preview we get the arsonist and Higuchi who looks really creepy.

Late again~

-Art quality wasn't so hot, but it's filler, so I guess that's to be expected.
-I love how mildly random this was... lake monster? lolwhat
-How the car like, INSTANTLY exploded before the OP was hilarious.
-Hey isn't the old cop from that earlier filler? Or maybe I'm getting my shows mixed up since I haven't rewatched that forever.
-I actually like Jun, so I probably enjoyed this episode more than I should have.
-LOL at his finger pointing being all dramatic.
-The mystery was painfully obvious, even more than usual. Not only was there only one suspect, but he already looked like the monster.
-That tranformation was awful. Like green Barney or something.
-Neuro acting scared after was pretty funny though.

Next Week:
Arsonist case and the intro of one of my favorite characters~

I still have no clue why Madhouse keeps adding all these fillers. Now it looks like they're going to try to pack 5 volumes into the next ~8 episodes (estimate, leaving the last 2 episodes for some kind of anime-only ending).
