The bureaucrats and politicians are forever the worse scums in society. I get that Earth has humanitarian laws, diplomancy etc etc however i see no need to apply those laws in the other world. If i was the JSDF, i would sentence the other world to death, at least only the Empire. Though this will probably spark war from the other countries on Earth lol...

Basically they don't want the mortals to skip levels of advancement. No cheating.

Yeah i read it to that the Gods are behind this, but why do they open a Gate to a way more advanced World if they are picky about what is ok and what not? Well i can see the point behind this, but still that´s just stupid of them.

Uh, you do know that the humanitarian laws also apply to our actions, right? Just because they don't follow them doesn't give us the right to just execute them, since we are supposed to be morally superior to them.

Keep also in mind that this is the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. They don't have this kind of "luxury" to pull that cow-boy vigilante justice that US armed forces can afford (USA can wave the those are terrorists card and have free reign for the first few months or years), and if it was Russians or Chinese the rest of the world will just shrug as in, "yeah, we can protest all we want, those guys just dont give a fuck." Japanese doing that will only make it worse for themselves because it will give more justification for anti-japanese sentiments fueled by China and Korea, and other countries.

Yikes. I can't imagine this being any good for the good guys, especially Lelei since the emperor white-washed the Enryuu death thing for his peoples' gain and placed all the glory on her. So how bad does this get?

The gate was supposed to be temporary, not held open like this.
It's supposed to trickle some life into the world.

The gods didn't make the gate, Hardy just made a temporary portal.
The Empire built the gate to stabilize it.

anyone have a picture that compare character design between novel lightnovel manga and anime?

Wardrobe-wise, the Manga ones are very alike the Novel and LN ones...
The Novels' official site has several character designs on each side of each page, check them out.
For the Anime ones, simply go check those available in it's official website.

From what I have assumed, the power of the gods of the Gate world do not seem to be able to effect our universe directly- given their inability to manifest in our world- i.e. Rory noting Hardy should be able to manifest herself anywhere underground, but can't in the Tokyo subway.

That said, given it's the resources of their world, they don't seem to care too much about their world either, or at least its resources.

The extent of their power in our world is unknown, but given Rory's immortality is still active and fine in our world, if a god was to come to Earth he/she would probably retain its power. I mean, Hardy can open dimentional portals at will after all.

The character designs for the Novel and manga are pretty much the same, main problems with the anime design is Rorys costume has been heavily modified and Leilei(blue hair) looks way to young.

Leilei wasn't simply made younger, her outfit was changed as much as Rory's, you can confirm it through those arts I said being in the Novels' site.

What I meant was, while in the Special Region, or whatever dimension they exist in when not directly manifesting in the Special Region, They do not seem to be able, or at least willing to effect Earth.

She used to be just lesbian.

Upon encountering Itami she is now bisexual.
But Itami is the only man she finds attractive, so she's still mostly homosexual. Itami is an exception.

And yes, she does face obstacles due to the fame.
