This is because Maeda only wrote 2 of the 5 routes in Kanon and the main route (true end) wasn't by him. Unlike in AIR and the rest, he wrote the true ends and majority for those. So it's not really "his"concept.

Unfortunately, the character designs didn't translate as well from that promo poster to animation, but it's still an improvement from the usual sameface syndrome that PA Works usually do. May watch an episode or two to see what it's like but if they start with that bullshit Key/Maeda comedy I'm highballing out of there.

The animation flowed really nicely and the music is spot on. Looking forward to this.

Well, the lead even by Key standards is very different too. I'm eager to see how this will go. This goes for the main girl too. I excepted a Kanade clone, but she seems different.

I agree something about the art didn't quite translate, I still think JC staff did a better job of that in Little Busters with NaGa's style. The female lead looks the least impressive here, while the other girl faired better. The males look okay here. Thank god for no same face syndrome though

As much as I love Maeda's stories, his comedy either works or doesn't. I wasn't a fan of many of the Angel Beats jokes. I just hope there isn't a lot of physical comedy. Key's comedy varies. But if you mean some of the repetitive jokes, I know what you mean. I can over look it because it's the heart of the story that matters.

Well, Maeda himself already stated in interviews that Yuu will be Key's rudest protagonist so far.

She will be very different. Just look at all these reaction faces:

It's obvious that she will definitely not be emotionless-type like Kanade. But rather simply very serious person.

All I can hear from the characters' voice are Kouki Uchiyama, Ayane Sakura and Daisuke Namikawa. Don't know about the other two though, it's probably due to just me not being very used to the voice actors they are behind in.

No, those are just guesses from 2ch users. Nothing confirmed. Especially Maaya Uchida as Yusa is highly unlikely, considering fact that was previously stated that she would be voiced by singer that's debuting as seiyuu. Which is definitely not Uchida's case. Also Yusa's seiyuu is confirmed to have gravure Interview in next G's magazine. So really wait until tomorrow for the actual confirmation.
