My favorite characters so far are professor and Nano. My favorite part of the episode was when that huge key in Nano's back only led to a rocket toe . The three second rule scene was funny, but it was close to being overkill so I'm glad they stopped when they did. The ways that the weinie kept getting away from her were so funny.

the animation design seems very dated.
Not sure about the humor, seems very 'japanese' usually I'm good at it, but some jokes I'm like "hmm I have to look this up" Also did someone steal the weiners? When it slipped off her chopsticks, her bento was full wieners, then when she got it back, her bento was empty.

She wants (or has, can't tell if the manga or anime translation is correct here) the great literature prize in Japan. Prize of 1 million yen and a pocket watch (the Professor probably just wants the watch).
Or since it is extremely hard to get, something for Nano to do that is practically impossible so Nano has to do something else to appease the Professor.

Pretty funny series so far.
I don't really get all the comparisons to Azumanga Daioh; the two series don't seem that similar to me. For one thing, this series is much more outlandish and wacky than that series or any other slice of comedy for that matter. I mean it's cast includes a girl who pulls guns out of nowhere, a robot girl invented by a five year old genius who has the ability to shoot her toe out, and a poor farm boy who fancies himself an aristocrat and rides to school on a goat. The only really bizarre elements of AzuDai was Chiyo's dad and the dream episode. Other than that the show's humor is more limited to humorous observations and conversations. |

Watched the first episode and the OVA. I'm still confused with the humors but I'm going to see how this one will turn out. The exaggerating scenes are quite funny, though
and just like other Indonesians and Malaysians, I was also surprised by the "Selamat Pagi" and "Selamat Malam" XD

The prince on a white goat was priceless. Anyways I read the manga too now and this is spot on for me, really my type of humor.
Between this and maria holic returning, I'm pretty set for the season even if nothing else catches me |

So this Hyadain dude is responsible for most of my favorite recent anime songs in everything but the singing. He's produced the lion's share of Mitsudomoe songs, a lot of Natsuko Aso's work, one of my favorite songs from the Ika Musume drama CD, and done work on both Momoiro Clover songs that have been used as anime endings.
He's got quite a pedigree. |

Hah. I thought this was going to be like some sort of subpar Kyoto Animation production job animation wise, but damn it does flow and animate incredibly well even if the style seems old, something to be expected of the studio by this point.
I also don't see the AzuDaioh reference. The show is almost a deadpan mix of SoL and ridiculous outlandishness, making it seem like everything in the show is practically normal. It doesn't mesh good at times, especially in the middle, but it is definitely funny throughout. It could still be argued that a show like this is more in SHAFT's alley, I think KyotoAni's doing a good job so far.
