I cried when I saw the news. The original Yamato ignited my love of anime.

A sad day indeed.
He will be sorely missed.
His work is a major influence on my own.

Still probably a year away from the series coming out, but it is some small news at least.

With the Earth's ground forces having better weapons than the original version I could see them having some good fights against the Tripods.

Still not quite liking the look of the automated ships as they have way too many fins (and thus a pain to put together as miniatures with sharp photo-etched parts), but we will see if they get used better this time around. In the old film they were kind of a useless obstacle for the enemy fleet to blow up, and then done with forever (much like the EDF fleets in about everything that wasn't the Battle of Saturn), but I am hoping that like the Earth fleets in 2202, that they will at least be useful and just overwhelmed after at least putting up a fight.

Arizona Prince of Wales Bismarck and Novick been had those Carrier variants if possible since they appeared in Season 3 one shot and original script been 52 episodes because of Arizona focus episode but it didnt happen.

They are hidden behind doors at the base of both sides of the superstructure. Under the broadside guns.

@Ithekro, thanks.

Has a full armament list ever been given for the Hyuga? The one on the official site and Japanese wiki seem incomplete.

Unless there is something with the 1/350 scale version of Hyuga, not there is not a full list. However, it can be weapons can be guessed from looking at the ship and what is known about Asuka.

Are there guide/art books with data/schematics of the 2205 mechanics (ships, fighters, etc.)?

The only places that usually have the full weapons listings are the 1/1000th scale model kits, and there was only one for Asuka this time around.
