Holy shit...I just had an awesome thought while reading through the new posts.

What if Hayate's brother can time travel...or better yet, Hayate's parents. It would explain so much! He comes from a family of time travelers! That's how his parents keep escaping their debt and vanishing without a trace. It also explains why his brother would disappear for weeks and weeks at a time. It can probably be written so that Hayate's misfortune is caused by time travel-based misunderstandings. There are probably dozens of Hayate's running around the time line so he probably was with Nagi's mom. Hell, maybe that was what caused that 'injury' that Athena healed, and maybe that allowed him to access his 'powers' again. Damn, that could open up a whole new realm of parody and plot-based superpowers. Of course, once he's gone back in time to save the world/help Athena/defeat Mikado/whatever else might be the plot then he'll probably lose his powers or something to keep him in the current time and keep him from staying too powerful.

Oh who am I kidding? Hayate and Hinagiku are such parody sues that they can do just about anything if they need to for some reason. Still, it makes for a funny story when the hero can just conveniently have had a job that taught him just the skills he needs to save the day.

I can't help but think that despite how complicated my idea could make the whole story, it might actually be simpler this way. That is a rather scary thought. So what do you guys think?

FUCK, it makes sense! Hope it's not true, tho. Too many reasons why I wouldn't want it to be like that.

Does anyone have an official color page of Machina? I never really thought about it, because I like B&W, but what's his hair / skin color + uniform color (it might not be the same as Hayate's)?

Ah, yes, let's not forget his eye color! ..... *sigh* today sucks...

Ever since his first appearance, I've always imagining him having brownish skin and white hair...clueless about the eyes.

As usual, this chapter did not contain Hayate talking to Athena; it was mostly just Hayate looking for Athena, and Athena thinking and discussion with herself about Hayate. However, next chapter promises to be one of the best, if not the best in the arc so far. They finally meet face to face, pretenses down!

I did like seeing Athena torn between choosing to like Hayate or not because of external factors. My heart ached for her, but I still love every moment of it.

I have nothing to add for this chapter. Next chapter, though, it's gonna be... not so epic. Athena is 220% gonna lie to him, or reject him in some other way. Hayate is gonna take it seriously, and get closure....

At least that's the feeling I get. Nothing good comes when asking something important to someone who's back is turned to you. When they turn around... it's always bad.. >_<

Hope my prediction is wrong. It would be a lot better if things moved on a different way.

Anyway, Hata, if you're reading this, then do a color page of HnG soon, including Machi!

HnG just had a color page, back when Hayate and Athena first met back up. I wouldn't expect another one for quite a while.
