Problem is, it was not a real self-sacrifice. Of course Miuna pushed Manaka out, but not with the obvious intention to go down herself. Unlike Manaka in episode 13 who shouted out to the sea god to take her instead. And going by her last statement to close the episode she hasn't put down her feelings for Hikari, despite her previous intentions. So in the end it is still the same situation as with the original ojoshi-sama and Manaka. They all love somebody else they left behind and not truly the sea god. If they want to make her end up as the lasting sacrifice, the writers have to do some bending to explain it in the light of only one episode remaining.

It's not quite the same situation. The original one and Manaka had their love returned. That's why they regretted and were unable to stay there as they were supposed to. Part of their minds rejected this and it made their ena peeled away. Miuna knows Hikari doesn't love her. So you have in the preview the line she doesn't regret loving him. There's no regret she has regarding romantic love. I think that's the huge difference and what will tip the balance on Miuna's favor.

that is pretty impressive. i would have thought a few of the episodes would be odd sizes but for the most pat all of them except 26 are the same size. Episode 26 must have alot of stuff to tell compared to the other episodes.

I hope Okada wasn't too ambitious in trying to bring things to a close. Sometimes less is more. Well, at least I don't think she'll screw up as bad as Bays and Thomas with the finale of How I Met Your Mother.

to be fair its the finale so the storyboard might just cover more of it so they can nail it just right. the more drawings and notes the better it should turn out. Either way i am excited.

There's quite a few interesting things surrounding episode 26 that make me excited for the finale: the ambiguous preview, the super fucking long episode name (seriously, that might be the single longest non-joke episode title I've ever seen in an anime), and now this. I'm expecting a very memorable and unique final episode. Whatever problems the anime community might have with Nagi no Asukara, I'm going to go ahead and predict that one of those problems won't be a milquetoast climax that fails to leave an impression.

Also, I kind of wonder if the booklets for 13 and 14 are in the wrong order just because those who posted this picture wanted to see how many people would point that out.

I find it interesting that the 2nd cour booklets are color coded the same way as the paper Planes in ED2. Also, does anyone know which paper plane corresponds with which character?

I think it's similar to the end of the opening theme of the 2nd core. While the group of 6 ppls walking on the snow toward the sea it's in this form:
Chisaki + Tsumuku
Sayu + Kaname + Hikari
Miuna

Then the paper plane is the reversed form of that in the opening (imo)
The leading one is Miuna
Followed by 3 paper plane which is Hikari + Kaname + Sayu
Then the two last plane i guess it should be Tsumuku + Chisaki
And the red one is Manaka ...

Is it realated to anythings? I just have no idea seriously.

Well it does end happily like I expected. It managed to wrap everything especially in concern of the mythology and it gives the characters what they wished to do: accomplish a marvelous end for everyone! The only thing that was negative was nothing much happened in another timeskip and there was something too lacking to even call it "great ending".
It's a good thing I managed to watch the show in the first place and my expectations weren't the same anymore as I keep watching every week: I originally thought this is gonna be an anime about love triangle executed in the most creepy way (i.e netorare, one of the things I do not like in anime especially if they give to the MC a bad luck), how wrong I was. What it ends up instead is a coming of age story centered around love and family drama in which supernatural plays a big part of the story. The visuals were magnificient and the way it dealts with issues was phenomenal. I don't think it was the best show this season but how it was executed was exactly close to being my favorites. I will never forget about how great it was and the drama was certainly not too bad in any respect, I can admit this is the best show written by Okada I've seen in a while.
