I looked around my bag once more, going over everything yet again. I was supposed to visit Suzuka tonight and stay with her while her husband is out on a business trip. Fortunetly he was leaving late after a dinner with his wife, which gave me several hours of unused time. I swallowed thickly, wondering if my plan would go off okay. Daddy thought I was being dropped off by our driver at the library, where I would stay until my friend got me. Suzuka thought I was going to her house directly... A perfect misunderstand. Zipping the small bag closed, I put it int my suitcase that held a change of clothes. I only needed my smaller one but I had packed it full of cleaning supplies. Fate's home was, for lack of a better term, pretty nasty. She kept things kind of clean but from what I could tell she rarely ever vacuumed or dusted more than blowing off the top of a surface.

That and she used really cheap brand products that didn't work for flip.

As I went downstairs, I hugged my mom and I stopped in the parlor to give my mom a hug. Going over to my father’s study only resulted in him waving me off as a nuance to his work. With that I was escorted to the fancy car that would take me to my destination. My driver Charles smiled at me and made pleasant conversation as I rode. I was ninety percent sure he would take me directly to Fate's house if I asked him but I was scared of him getting fired if anyone saw us.

I waved at him and declined his offer to stay with me until Suzuka arrived. Instead I leaned against the wall of the library and let the wind blow my hair. I was wearing jeans, though brand name, and an elegant looking shirt. It wasn't a dress, but still probably was too upscale for what Fate preferred me to wear when we went out.

My friend was a little late and was absolutely filthy as well. Dirt and grass stained her clothes and she was sweating a lot. A mass of blonde hair was in a ponytail to stay out of her way, but she was smiling. I longed to experience life like that at least once. I had never really been dirty, nor had I had my hair anything but silky smooth and combed perfectly. To see her so casually joking with her friends as she got out of the work truck made me jealous.

But I was going to her world now, if only for a few hours. She was going to take me, to allow me to escape my life.

"Fate," I spoke the name when she got close, a smile on my face. "Thank you for picking me up."

"Can't let a pretty little thing like you walk alone. No telling what kind of trash you'd pull up." She laughed and took my hand easily. I blushed at the contact but still allowed her to walk me back to the truck and helped me into it because it was tall. "Wow, nice ass you have there, Princess."

"Kya!" I quickly turned around and sat, cheeks burning. "D-don't say that..."

Fate hummed, grinning at me as she squished in next to me. "Looks like too tight of a fit. Guess you'll have to sit in my lap after all."

"Eh!?"

Chrono snorted, playing along with Fate's comment. "Yup, sorry toots. I can't shift gears this cramped."

"Oh... Okay..." I managed to move my suitcase into the floorboard so Fate could move her feet around it and shyly sat down on her legs. "Is this okay...?"

Fate wrapped arms around me and pull me close, chin resting on my shoulder. "Ooooh, what I wouldn't give right now for a double ended dil-"

"Fate!" Chrono warned my friend before she could finish. 'Dil? A what?' My curiosity was repressed, and I somehow felt as if I shouldn't ask such a thing.

The ride was made with lots of jokes and Fate's constantly shifting hands on my waist and lap. I could tell she wanted to... do un ladylike things.... to me but she never once touched me wrongly. This made me quite happy, as I felt as though I could honestly trust her fully again. She wanted to indulge in a sexual activity with me, and was quite verbal about it, but she respected me... I liked that. A lot.

Fate's apartment came into view and we got out of the truck quite clumsily. I almost fell down but my friend's arm looped around me so fast to catch my fall I didn't make it but half way before stopping. Her hand was cupping my breast but before I could even wonder if she did it on purpose or not I was righted up and worried red eyes looked at me. "You okay?" She asked honestly. I felt my heart skip in my chest and for some reason I could only just nod. "Good." The eyes turned back to normal. "I'd hate for a glass figure like yourself to break on me."

I puffed out my cheeks, previous feelings forgotten as she went back to her normal self. "I'm not glass!" My anger was short lived and I started losing confidence when she hummed at me with that ' I'll prove you wrong' look of hers...

Fate's apartment was almost just as I had left it a few nights ago when I had slightly tidied up her living room with the little time I had. "I brought some stuff," I revealed as I was shown to her bedroom so I could put my suitcase down. "To clean up. As a thank you for always going out of your way for me."

"If you really want to thank me," She grinned and I swear one of her K-9 teeth came over her lip like a fang would. "You could do it topless."

I blushed fire again. "I- I.... can't do that." She looked really disappointed, and it was then that I realized she was actually really hoping I might do it for her. 'Well... she does always.... but...I'm...' I looked over at her, speaking in a shy stammering voice "M-maybe... la-later..." She looked at me in shock and I turned my head, quickly rummaging through my cleaning supplies.

"Princess," I slowly turned back at her and saw a happy expression on her face. "I promised I wouldn't jump you again, so, you know, don't do something you're not comfortable with.

I was almost floored by the statement. Fate was always, always, open with her actions and thoughts. For her to tell me not to do something that she so clearly wanted me to... I felt my heart flutter again, cheeks coloring and a small smile coming on my mouth. "Um... Go shower, I'm sure you want to... I'll just... start cleaning?"

"Sure thing." Fate went around the room a bit to get her clothes. "Don't mind anything, just have at it."

"Anywhere I shouldn't go in?"

"Nope, just don't be surprised by what you find." She winked at me, leaving me confused. What would she have that would surprise me?

Shrugging it off, I busied myself with getting everything ready until I heard the shower turn on. Once Fate was cleaning herself I allowed my eyes to look around. I had only seen her bedroom in passing and I wasn't really surprised by what I saw. There wasn't much in the form of decoration, save a few pin ups. I didn't see and posters of girls on her walls but did notice a few pornographic magazines on her dresser. They must be the ones I moved last time I was here. Curiosity tugged at me but after looking at the cover I couldn't bring myself to actually look through it. Instead I turned my gaze to the blonde's nightstand. A small blush went over my cheeks and I fiddled with the hem of my shirt. Maybe I should do it? Fate wanted me to clean topless, and she always went out of her way for me... If she wants me to, I should do it, right?

I didn't make the decision, instead pondering it over and over in my head while cleaning. Dust was wiped off, trash was picked up (that girl loved starburst), and I arranged everything I could. When I made it back to her dresser I looked at the magazines again. 'She loves looking at naked girls... It'll be okay with just her, she won't jump me...' My hands still hesitated and I was spared making the choice again when the door to the bathroom opened to reveal a towel clad Fate. I knew I probably looked like a deer caught in headlights but she didn't seem to notice. Wait, was she wearing anything under that towel?

“Hungry?” The word caught me off guard.

“...A little?” I blushed.

“I'll make us something,” Fate walked past me with a little smile, wiggling her hips enough to make me color darker. Water was still running down her legs, confirming that she really wasn't wearing anything under that towel...

...Nanoha topless...

Haven’t done one of these in a while… but since this is the last chapter it deserves one

Spoiler for Last comments on SbtB:

Since this is the last SbtB any uncertainties need to be cleared up for a good end. The bout with the magazine did the proper job in getting Nanoha to think about her relationship and if it was secure. The idea about the treat showed classic SbtB Nanoha; if she wants to show that she likes Fate or wants to say she is sorry to her, give her a treat. Now the shoe box was a very well used important addition to the issue. Nanoha’s reaction was natural, that seeing such objects in her girlfriend’s possession could mean that she is not giving her the intimacy she desires. At least it was not allowed to brew. Telling someone that such actions are not being done because they feel like they are not getting the action they want is difficult, and Fate tried to get it across. What she needed to say in addition is that “No toy or self pleasure could ever replace you, that is, when you are ready.” Just a little extra piece that would let Nanoha know that her girlfriend is not running off somewhere else to get her jollies. Solo masturbation may give one the feeling of sex, as what Fate was gunning for, but it can not give someone the love in sex. That ultimate want of both girls: love in their relationship.

May I say that the review sections were well done as well? A cast of characters have change in them should be reminded of where they were and where they are now. Saved by the Bell, while not dealing with school directly, dealt with the growth teenagers undergo during this time in their lives. They will continue to grow, but many can point to decisions in their teens that have an effect on them today.

And of course there is one thing in here that will make Emerald Bell believable. Nanoha now considers herself in love with Fate. Now she wants to be with Fate in the most intimate of actions, and she chose the right measure. That measure is to ability to say “I love you”. If you can not say “I love you” during sex and mean it, it is one indicator that you are not ready. Remember: to say those words and not mean it only brings future trouble, not only to yourself but your partner.

The way you structured your ending was also a good technique borrowed from the movies. To have the main part of the story end first, go through the “credits”, and then have that final little glimpse. It adds to the story that there is more, that the universe will continue on: whether or not the author adds to it.

Satashi, you have done well with this fiction. It was a journey, one that has made some of us sad that it has ended, but a worth wild one. Cheers to you and may you do well on your next project.

To ensure readability across platforms make sure that the document is saved with the .doc extension as 2003 and earlier can not read 2007 .docx extension. Also ensure that your personal information such as your name has been changed in the Tools>Options>User Information or similar so that your real name is not leaked out. Do this before saving anything.

Nanoha sipped her scalding coffee as she perched on a stool in the small breakfast diner on the corner of Emrys and Main. This was the one place that she could come while still maintaining her cover where people would not know her as herself, but rather as her alias. She was too well-known closer to her actual home and the precinct that she worked out of to actually risk the extra few minutes on the train for good coffee. Besides, it was good to get out into the community and meet some of the actual people who lived there. She'd worked hard over the past week establishing herself in the community as an out-of-work addict who was looking to run drugs within her old company for an opportunity to support herself.

It was disgusting work, talking to the bottom-feeders who would point her in the right direction to make the arrests that would allow her to return home once more.

Nanoha had to admit that she was doing fairly well this time around, for laying the ground work for many of her assignments lasted far longer than this assignment's had, so far. She supposed that it was probably because of the fact that this drug ring was not nearly as hardened a bunch of criminals as the others that she'd worked with. These were just a bunch of speed and performance-enhancer junkies - looking to score a little bit of a magical high without the linker core to provide it. It was rather lame of them, yes, but Nanoha understood what it was like to function without magic in a largely magical world. She was reportedly the least-magical person that the TSAB medical examiners had ever seen. Nanoha didn't know how to feel about that, other than the deep rush of embarrassment and hurt that she could not do more to help out Mid in it's ongoing war against crime and evil.

The non-mages like herself had to resort to working jobs like this in order to make ends meat. It was pathetic.

She set her coffee down and watched as the round-faced woman came around carrying the coffee pot. Her face would have been friendly had the scowl of a woman scorned many times graced her face with such a vigor that even Nanoha was impressed that her face hadn't stuck like that. "You want more?" She asked, her tone harsh and brisk. Everyone in this neighborhood had something to lose, and no one was very friendly about the fact that people were just generally not open to anyone's kindness.

Nanoha nodded, not saying thank you and added one packet of sugar before she brought the mug back up to her lips, surveying the room with half-lidded eyes. Nothing out of the ordinary, just people getting their breakfast and reading the newspaper. Nothing new there, the TSAB'd fucked something else important up. Everyone on Mid was used to it by now, and Nanoha was glad of the assignments for it allowed her to detach from the complicated politics between the Ground Forces of the TSAB and the local police. Neither group particularly appreciated Nanoha's skill at getting the information that she needed - instead telling her that if she simply was sleeping her way into gangs that she would be better off staying out of the field.

She was too valuable, it seemed, to be killed.

Ever since she'd started her work on this assignment, she had been bothered by those haunted eyes that she'd first encountered on her first night on the job. Fate Harlaown had been no whore, she'd had no experience in sex, and Nanoha had been more than happy to show her the ropes. Still, it was that action that had bothered her so much. She should have known about sex, especially with the story that she'd given Nanoha - it should not have been that easy to fake an innocence like that.

Nanoha sighed and drew a small square in the air, pulling up a computer monitor that was attached to her alias' personal account and intelligent device. Nanoha could not really use the device for magic, but it functioned as a last resort should she ever get into trouble. She logged into Mid's Intra-web and quickly opened up her soul way of reporting in to her superiors while on the job. It was a coded message, but one that was always rather fun to write, as her boss had the worst ideas when it came to key phrases and half the fun came from trying to work them into a 'journal' entry without sounding awkward.

Nanoha typed quickly, indicating that she needed information on who Fate Harlaown was, and that she'd made some connections to the company. Cigarettes were code for bullets, and Nanoha was assuring her superiors that she had enough to last her through a decent fire fight.

That had to be enough.

She closed down the screen after submitting the information and her mind drifted once more to that beautiful girl with no memory.

Over the past few years, Major Case had been trying to bring down a true 'mad scientist' who had developed something of a knack for creating human clones and selling them on the black market into prostitution or, in some cases, replacing lost children or loved ones who had died. JS was his only identifier to people outside of Major Case, but Nanoha knew a lot about the case and the cloning method anyway. She never questioned just how she knew, but it was just another one of those things that came to her naturally.

The things that bothered the rest of her coworkers.

Takamachi Nanoha had appeared at Central's cadet training class seven years ago with nothing. She'd been no one, and had worked her way up to where she was now through tenacity of spirit and nothing else. She knew that she had to work hard, to provide for her little daughter, and to strive for the seeming memories that she did not have of her past.

She had a past, one that she knew backwards and forwards - yet one that felt incomplete.

As incomplete as the small red marble that had hung around her neck since she'd started at the training academy. She had no idea what it did, or why she had it. No one could find any traces of anything within the object - so it was probably just some piece of jewelry, a memento from a time that she could not quite recall.
