This has been a hell of a ride. Sad to see it go....
I kinda felt that way back at episode 19-22. Episode 24 kinda made me not care all that much after how it everything happened. Anyways, I enjoyed reading all your discussions and stuff. Unless an OVA or a second season is announced, I'm done with anime.
All things considered, I thought it was a pretty good episode. They wrapped up most things, including the picture in Taiga's handbook that I had long forgotten about, and there were several kisses, plus enough closure to make me happy.
I just read Omniscient's spoilers and without delving too deeply into them...
Are Takasu and Taiga in 2nd or 3rd year of high school? Based on the novel spoilers, I thought they were in 2nd year but did the anime change that to third year?

2nd year in high school, but there was a one year time skip. That was their high school graduation.
* At Takasu residence, Ryuji got Taiga to call Yasuko and lied to her that he is going to die and got Yasuko to go and talk with her parents. In turn making her realise her own issues with Ryuji. Ryuji reassures Yasuko that he's no longer a kid and will now make his own choices.
* Grandma Takasu puts Ryuji and Taiga in the same room since "they are going to get married anyway", and Ryuji said to Taiga that they will work together to get happiness, this includes getting approval from Taiga's parents.
* Taiga and Ryuji played wedding, amazing kiss scene that is a hundred times BETTER than the two of the novel. Taiga managed to tell from Ryuji's physical stance that he wants to kiss her, and then Ryuji taking the lead, the initial awkwardness of the peck on the lips, and Taiga saying "once more" and the two going into a full kiss, then Taiga saying "once more" and the two goes into a deep kiss with Ryuji cupping Taiga's face. Absolutely amazing detail, execution and flow.
* Taiga Ryuji and Yasuko returns home, Taiga goes back to her apartment, listens to the many messages her mother leaves her, then decided that she must also face her problem and leaves, leaving only a note for Ryuji.
* Everyone at school is surprised at Taiga leaving, and they all contacted Taiga on their mobile. Minorin got angry at Ryuji and slaps him, but Kitamura stopped her, Ryuji explains that if that's what Taiga decides, he can only accept it.
* Taiga replied to everyone with a picture she took of a lone star on the dark night that she took the night she left. Ami-chan suggested that they should take a picture of the class and mail it back to her, including the Christmas decoration crystal star that Taiga brought for the party.
* While looking for the crystal star in the school storage room, Ami-chan and Ryuji talked. Ami-chan confessed that she wanted someone to see her true self, that she is a child, and it was enough that one person did see it, even though it didn't turn out to be love.
* One year passed, you hear some first year students talking about the third graders. Kitamura made a great student council president and everyone loved his work, also found out that he is going to America after graduation. There were talks of the Palm Top Tiger legend and how the PTT is the infamous Takasu-sempai's girlfriend etc. When everyone was on the playground Ryuji caught the head of Taiga in their home room and he ran back only to find the room empty. He walked to the storage cabinet and opened it and inside is Taiga. Ryuji commented on Taiga's height and maybe she's grown a bit but Taiga said she didn't, Taiga said she she wanted to surprise him and Ryuji then said he loves her and Taiga became all embrassed, lastly finally she headbutted him and said why can he say such embrassing things, and that the mood was terrible when he said it. THE END
The final episode was predictable, but the execution was flawless. Amazing ending.

Spoiler for comments on spoilers:
Aww... I haven't watched the episode yet but I was hoping for a continuation of the prologue at the very end so we'd get to see Ryuuji and Taiga living together as a couple. I suppose I'll have to watch the episode to appreciate the way JC Staff decided to end it. Also, Ryuuji's one-year wait for Taiga sounds painful; it was only two months in the light novel T_T
Re Tango337: Corrected ("visual novel" --> "light novel").

Spoiler:
I was wondering what that second picture was from ep. 16. Good to know the director didn't forget about it.
Goes to show that JC Staff can make a pretty good adaption if the source material is finished, I guess having a good director helps (director from ZnT 2 and 3 should die)
Amazing... my heart was throbbing the entire episode Given the short time they had, I can honestly say it was so well adapted that I'm fully, fully satisfied. Indeed, a good director is crucial, and wow did he deliver.
