I'm actually pretty confused on that. I've seen people singing this thing's praises on here and MAL, but isn't that just some weird Guana thing piloted by "not-Kunato"? How can anything piloted by that psycho be the best anything?
(vague answers please, no spoilers )

Finally got to watch the episode, so glad Sidonia is back! I feel kinda bad for that lady that was keeping watch over that placenta(Kinda forgot everyone's names except for Nagate and Izana). I thought that thing at the end was going to be an ally, but judging from the preview, I guess not?

HOLY. CRAP.
Tanikaze sure had it rough, love hurts. Especially if she has tentacles. Keep up the patriotic fervor Angela. I think her music is what everyone in Sidonia listens to. Kunato 2.0: Twice the Jerkass, Better Scheming, More Evil, what more can you ask for?

Wow, that was just so fantastic, I don't even know what to say. Okay, maybe a little bit what to say, but wow, that was a freaky scary episode in so many ways. I tend to never get freaked out in anime no matter the horror story, but the atmosphere in this episode really did a number on me.
I really can't wait for the next episode. This series is so good.

Just echoing the voices of like-minded people: The Best Girl has finally arrived.
Now, with Ochiai back in the game, the show would be more exciting - its not only Sidonians fighting the Gauna, with some petty hatred (Oh, Kunato) and politics between them (and Tanikaze harem building); but also the rise of a true Mad Scientist dreaming of transhuman ascension with Gauna as a mean to reach it, lurking and slowly infecting from within... I don't know, but witnessing Kunato, Mozuku, and Numi got bodyjacked made me feel a little bit excitement in my body, even though it is terrifying to think about... Ochiai can't even contain his mad scientist gloating at the lab... Quote:
D'awww, that littlegiant girl even introduced herself...and call OchiaiKunato "Father"...wait... Next Episode Preview: Mmhh...fun with tentacles... Last edited by cupumanager; 2015-04-12 at 09:26. |

Good start. My favorite sci-fi show in years returns. The little Ochiai gauna-spider crawling into people's eyes was fairly amazing. Is Sidonia doomed to become gauna? Does Tsumugi have enough Hoshijiro in her for Nagate to fall in love? (Same seiyuu as Hoshijiro....) What about my feeling -- stated by some character in an early ep of the first season -- that gaunas may actually want to befriend humans? They imitate to ingratiate, but attack when attacked (?).
I noticed the CG getting a bit sharper and more interesting, too. But I still much prefer the amazing OP of the first series. Angela does a nice enough job here, but it doesn't grab me like the first OP did.

I agree that the nematode Ochiai devised to take over host bodies is creepier than that ear-crawler that was in The Wrath of Khan.
The devil is loose aboard Sidonia now. There will be much suffering and devastation before he is taken down once again.

Well, after finding slightly better subs than the first time, I understood a little better what was going on. I wonder what Ochiai's plan is? He thinks of Guana as insects that he wants to destroy and yet he thinks humans should be more like them?
And didn't Kunato's sister Mozuku get her head chopped off? Did the blood nematode possess her dying brain, and then sew the head back on to the body? Also, so, is this new Tsumugi guana girl what Ochiai made out of the Hoshijiro placenta girl? If so, what's his plans with her? And how is Nagate going to react? I doubt that the people of Sidonia are going to easily accept a guana ally, but then again, with Ochiai's manipulations behind the scenes, it's quite possible.

And the second best show of last year (only beaten by Unlimited Budget works) is finally back. And WHAT AN EPISODE! Wow, so much happened in such a sort span of time. We got creepy horror, harem comedy, some action, and more alien girl weirdness all in the first episode.
You just know this 2nd season is going to be a crazy ride. Like I said, mucho creepy horror in this episode. lol It was so sad to see the cute scientist girl get possessed. Why the cute girl? Oh the humanity!!!!!!!! Last edited by bigdeath; 2015-04-13 at 01:01. |

Wao I seriously got taken aback by this episode! My hybrid alien girl can't be this cute! Seriously Tsumugi's voice was so sweet I alsmost got a heart attack there, and her entrance was impressive everyone on board Shidonia was speechless!
OP and ED were a let down though. |
