Two things about the new Akatsuki member, he doesn't have his forehead protector on his forehead, maybe we wont find out were this guy is from and/or it will be some kinda of mystery to Kakashi, if they fight. Second thing would be his eyes, unless its an error in the raw. His eyes are just white and creepy looking.

Great chapter. I guess this chapter put to rest all the discussion about who won the fight, as if it wasn't obvious enough BEFORE. Let see if people will still argue about it. What a creepy guy was the Akatsuki member.

One thing is for sure...if this guy is travelling alone then he must be insanely strong. Plus he is totally weird...implying some special jutsu...so Kakashi can't copy him. Run for your life, Kakashi!!!!

I'm not sure if that nin's appearance means the next arc will be about akatsuki. Remember the beginning of the Tsunade arc? Itachi and Kisame came to konoha but after a few chapters we heard nothing of akatsuki.

The same could happen here. Though I hope not.

Akatsuki is an elite group made with some of teh strongest ninja's in the naruto-verse i forgot the number of member i think it's 9, correct me if wrong

I'm guessing that it's not sarcasm along with these questions coming up within the mind of any Naruto manga fan that has seen this raw.

And why are u stating what Akatsuki is anyway? Also, there are 8 members with each 2 members as a pair. It used to be nine when Orochimaru was part of Akatsuki.

It would be cool if this certain mysterious nin fought against Kakashi. It also would be interesting if Naruto also turns up as a missing nin because of startling situation.

They were 9 but then Oro left and became 8. They split in groups of two then-- 4 groups.

Finally! Kishimoto has brought some unpredictability back to the manga. It took him nearly 6 months, but we're finally at a point where we have the unknown to look forward to. Poor Sasuke, set on his ideal to gain more power but he goes to a dark unknown and doesn't gain the eye ability he hoped for, and then we got Akatsuki finally coming back into the picture with this unknown member.

Yay for Kishimoto!

I knew he would find the battle interesting

He does seem to have some kind of special power. While sinking in to the ground is nothing special (Oro does it all the time) his Venus-trap collar looks far from just a fashion statement.

on a side note..

Those "color" pages are far inferior to the Inane color-crews work. Those guys are doing such a great job

i wonder if we will see a different naruto after this. he has been pushed to his breaking points emotionally with the events that jsut happened. and of all the times the strongest gennin could be used they end up in the hospital. but what i really want to see in this next arc is the ultimate team up with naruto and garaa. .
i also wonder if naruto is going to get a new outfit since his has a hole through it.

Nah.. remember the first episodes? He has like a hundred of them

Remember the akatsuki are S class because of the crimes theyve commited, its already been discussed that this class refers to notoriety, rather than power. Although im sure they are all incredibly strong.

This confirms that sasuke could have killed naruto had he intended to. So he's not a total evil badguy yet, he just angsty still. Also, he left the battlefield on his own steam. Naruto lives (obvious in that he can open his eyes and answer kakashi) Pakkun has lost sasuke's scent because of the rain, and Kakashi has decided to take naruto home first and not chase Sasuke. Also, Kakashi has indicated that his is highly pissed at Sasuke. New akatsuki member having a conversation with someone, himself perhaps. He observes that things have become very interesting. Well, its a lot of answers to the last battle and clears some things up. I have no problem with sasuke having won: at least it wasnt a tie. And it doesnt mean that sasuke is stronger overall, being the nature of this series, circumstances, emotional issues, and fighting styles all played a part in the outcome of the battle. There is a teaser to the effect that "separation is the begginng of a new meeting, or possibly another battle" So maybe they will settle the score, or even perhaps rejoin forces one day.
