I think Hikki just said what almost every loner would say, not that I'm trying to lump loners together, or at least what his character is supposed to like. Think about it this way, a person often gets attracted to people like them, and gets curious about people completely different from them, and that suits Hikki's line.

When I first watched Oregairu, I thought "This guy reminds me of someone, but who?"

Well Yumiko's circumstance is much more severe compared to Yukino's, but their personalities are pretty much the same: kuudere, always wearing a thick facade, their fathers get high postion in socialty, reject people around them, hard to befriend with, loner. If Yukino didn't have siblings and her father were stricter (?) more bastard (?) (I can't find the right word to discribe Yumiko's father ), there was a high chance Yukino would act like Yumiko.

At first, I thought so too, but Yumiko is far more emotional and aggressive than Yukino, at least towards the MC.

You could compare this main trío to a lot of other anime/manga/LN/VN but it's their chemistry and interactions what made me interested in this series in particular.
