No. The post on Gunota is a summary of the article; Arrow is a branch of the new earth government. The statement taken after that about Setsuna taking a leadership role is just a statement about Setsuna, and not related to the previous sentence.

Think of Arrow as Oz in Gundam Wing. Well before the coup...

How about we don't compare it to other series because they are, oh... I don't know... two different series?

Perhaps the meaning of existence lies within their will to fight.
People feel a sense of accomplishment through battle.
And it’s also a fact that the ones actually fighting are never perceived as being tainted.

How about we stop people from... I don't know... confusing CB for Arrow or CB meisters joining fed/Arrow

Just was noting that the way they wrote Arrow makes it sound like a specialist sub-unit... happens to sound like the specials "Oz" in Wing. No need to get your panties in a bunch!

Nice pic Anairam

But we know OZ being "specials" was only a title used to mask the fact that they were Romefeller's own personal militia within the military. Their higher authority allowed Romefeller to interfere in the Allliance's affairs in a legal manner, aside from providing the Alliance's mobile suits. The Specials weren't designed for any specific type of conflict, which is contrary to Arrow's stated purpose.

Of course, both organizations would have to draw their inspiration from the Titans, though until we start seeing corruption and power hungry individuals, I do think it's best that we not make these series comparisons since they will influence how we think they will act when we're not supposed to be seeing these connections in other Gundam series.

I have extremely mixed feelings with everything I have seen of season 2. I didn't like 00 gundam at first but I do now. The new uniforms or whatever are fine, just clothes, I wish that they weren't all the exact same besides color though. Maybe someones could just be short sleeved or no jacket, all of them being the same is lame. I'm glad Setsuna looks even a little older, his face isn't as chubby if you compare season 1 and season 2.

The other new gundam designs are alright. To me for some reason it feels like they designed the four new Gundams besides 00 and then just said downgrade them for season 1, but hopefully that's not the case. I just can't wait to see them in action hopefully we will get pictures of the weapons soon.

And I also think it's alright to compare arrow to Oz or Titans, from the very short description they sound similar enough. I don't think anyone said that they were the exact same thing.

I hope the new season will at least be so so.

Detailed summary of Newtype's Gundam 00 SS coverage from Kouryaku No Yakata (was summarized by Gunota, but it is missing key info)

Quote:
Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Page 18 is Mizushima's interview:

Second Season is Federation vs. Anti-Federation.

The story follows the confrontation between the independent security enforcement organization within the Federation called "Arrows" which suppresses the Anti-Federation elements.

Gundam Meisters gather again to pilot Gundams. Their purpose is still to "extermination of war through military prowess". However, they act as people whose Gundams were entrusted to by Aeolia.

Setsuna takes a leadership role in the second season. He wanders the world while knowing that peace is achieved by the Feddies through the distortion of truth. This is his motivation.

Most people aren't aware of the severe oppression of Arrows due to the Federation's complete control of information. It fights to protect peace to a degree of recognition.

Setsuna is a man who can only fight. He is conscious of the hypocrisy of "extermination of war through military prowess". However, it is necessary to stop imminent war. Therefore he appears more militaristic than before. He tries not to get swayed towards the pacifist road that the heroine-like Marina takes.

Lockon is dead. He will not be revived.

They decreased the lines used to draw the 4 Gundams so that more effort could be placed into the action. And the two lines (the beard that is the symbol of Gundam) were added in.

The story of 00 has three overlapping layers, one is Aeolia's plan, another is the Meisters', and the last is how war affects the normal citizens who get involved. Saji is involved in CB's fight in an unexpected way. Louise's situation in the last episode of the first season will be made clear. The relationship between Saji and Louise exist in one axis.

Pages 20-21 has introductions of the Meisters.

Setsuna:
To sever the distortion caused by the false peace from the world.

Director's comments -
Setsuna has greatly changed internally in the last 4 years. He resents the state of the current world and is conflicted about whether his actions were correct.

Lockon:
The bullet that shoots the spark, shakes history again

Heads to the battlefield with his partner Haro. Pilots the Keldim Gundam.

Director's comments -
He is here after shouldering inevitable circumstance and joining CB. This time, to visually showcase the confrontation with the "Arrows", the Meisters' uniforms are seen.

Allelujah
What does the will to unite see in the new world?

Director's comments -
Allelujah is changed by his surrounding environments. Whether the cross that previously killed his comrades affect him will become an important point. (?)

Tieria
One chooses and starts to walk the road to the future

Seriously injured in the decisive final battle in which he flew the Gundam Nadleeh but he was rescued by an organization and his life saved. Afterwards, he did his best to rebuild Celestial Being. Presently he looks for the meaning of his personal struggle.

監督から
・ヴェーダから切り離されたことで逆にイオリアの計画への思いが深い、ティエリアの立ち位置が明確になる。 再結集した後の彼は一番ブレないキャラクターになる。

Gunota didn't really miss any key information there. He just pulled out the important information out of the remaining drivel.

The fact that the Meisters are still fighting for CB against the "Arrows" and the false peace from the Federation is not key information? This isn't shown at all in Gunota's summary.

In fact, this news changes a lot of what the perceptions are for the second season... It seems that everything they did in the first season appear to be for naught and CB is trying to reverse course.

I think a lot of people figured that out based on the description of the Arrows. Though this makes it all the more clear that they're a Titans like organization =/

I am not liking the designs for season 2s gundams at all. Oh well, hopefully the plot is decent.

Agreed. But the point is not to figure it out... It is that Mizushima has already told everyone what the story actually is about...

I doubt it'd be the same... Its still the same old "use force to defeat force" rhetoric from CB, and this time they seem to fight both the Federation and the Arrows..

Plus the fact that Aeolia's plan still seems to be alive...

I find it interesting that they actually made the mobile suits designed in a manner that would be easier to animate. That explains why the new suits look like someone splattered white and a different color on a humanoid shape.

Actually, I believe that's the reason why Kunio Okawara's simplistic, boxy designs were used in the later half of Seed and Seed Destiny as well. The fact is that animating mecha is expensive and the highly detailed suits from the first season would be difficult to animate, which is why they appeared to have gotten Okawara to simplify the 1st season's Gundams and call them new suits (Okawara's unconfirmed, but IMO this has got to be his handiwork, or at least his not-so-inspired apprentice's)....
