Which won't be the last novel most likely. The last two were supposed to be the last novels. Instead they open even more up, instead of closing loose ties.

Wow, the next novel has yet to be released. Hopefully we will hear something soon in the next few months before the year ends.

Spoiler:

No idea if this was added in the novel or it's a manga thing only.
It also happened in Sigma.

Wonder what the guy's relation with the mommy was aside from the husband's...

I don't think they've released the english version of Sigma past volume four. I wish a group would scanlate the later volumes.

There's 9 volumes currently released and only 4 in english.

Although I don't understand the raws, I can understand most of it from the pictures and I'm quite a bit disappointed. It just doesn't feel like the old FMP.

I agree. The art style changes the tone, as well as the fact that Hiroshi Ueda changed some of the dialogue and took out some rather important parts that give a lot of information. I translated the story Kyokuhoku Kara no Koe, which is essentially Kalinin and Sousuke's past, out of volume 8 of Sigma, and it's almost a different story from the novel (which I am sloooooowly working on translating)

Also, there's actually 11 volumes of Sigma released, I can only find up to 9 in Japanese though. 10 and 11 I've seen around in Chinese, but I don't understand Chinese at all, so it doesn't help me much.

My signature is a link to the journal where I keep my translation work, so if you were curious about Koe, you can find it there. ^_^ I'm not planning on translating Sigma as a main project, Koe was sort of a wind-down project, taking a break from the novel, so don't expect to see much of the manga out of me. I'm also very slow, because I like to take on 50 million projects at once *cough* so I'm really taking my sweet time about it. I apologize for that. (I haven't worked on Oogui no Comrade in weeks *wince* I'm a terrible person)

An article has been written regarding the TokyoPop release of book #4 of Full Metal Panic!: http://ranobecafe.wordpress.com/2009...eres-volume-4/

I wish TokyoPop would get their acts together and tell fans what the heck is actually the status of these novels. >.<

TokyoPop recently lost a licensing agreement to a few of their manga, so when it come to getting their act together you guess is as good as mine. (32 voluems of Rave collected and then this happened.frustrated: )

It mentions a release next next year... Hm....

@Dash

- There are scans already out in English. Not sure if it's alright to say who's hosting them. Officially, Chuang Yi of Singapore has 4 volume of Sigma in English.

So we are waiting for a release to come in 2010? I do not mind for the best things come to those who wait. Unless the author is going to procastinate, then we have a problem.

I read most of it too anyway. But I'll buy the English novels if they do come out in Canada/US in the next few years.

Just joined today. I have to say this is some wonderful discussion regarding everything FMP. I have read all of them in English (up through NOT) and I can say everything is accurate. Can't wait for the next one! PM me if you would like to read them in English also.

Interestingly enough it's back on Amazon, though the 31 DEC 2008 release date is a little optimistic:

http://www.amazon.com/Full-Metal-Pan...407927&sr=1-12

Not sure if we'll really see it this time or not. Hopefully they can redirect some resources from all those now-defunct manga to cranking out some light novels.
