Unless Ryuukishi decides to convert all the bmp into png, I don't think we will ever see all episodes in a single disc.

But I don't see that happening. He never used a single png so far, rather he converted a few backgrounds in jpg with horrible results.

The actual barrier to putting 1-8 on a single DVD is the music. Very little of it hasn't been reused in Chiru, and some that hasn't is still actually in the BGM folders, and unlike the BMPs it's apparently entirely uncompressed (beyond being in .ogg anyway). The overwhelming bulk of the file size is BGM. I'm not even sure if it would all fit on a single DVD even if you did make all the .bmps into .pngs.

But that's not what anyone was talking about. I think they mean dual DVDs, with 1-4 on one and 5-8 on the other. Provided ep8 adds only a few hundred MBs to the total size (which it should if it has a few new portrait sets, some new backgrounds, and a dozen or so new songs like other eps), that should remain true.

EDIT: Also as I understand it, the compression used by NScripter to create .nsas basically is about as good as converting .bmp to .png generally. The WH-created translated .nsas started using .png conversions at some point, didn't they? And if I recall, it's not a major difference unless the file is extracted. But of course the only people extracting the graphics are photoshoppers, analysts who pore over all the little pictures, and people using it in fan stuff.

With about 3/4 of all the portrait sets extracted and converted to .png, and all backgrounds in .jpg, I can get an entire compression file in Renpy down to under 200 MB. It doesn't matter though, because once again the BGM would be where most of your problems lie. Using every BGM track from 1-7 would add about a gig and a half by itself, I believe (and I may be grossly lowballing that figure).

Last time I practically got everything right, both the characters both the kind of relationship between the two. Unlike what happened with EP5 where I totally failed ^^;

I think this is also part of the fun of Umineko.

Is the translation at 50% now or are you saying that once it reaches 50%, there will be another partial patch?

According to Klashikari's twitter, not only will there be a 50% patch but it should be out in a week or two.

I'm with you there...AmiAmi has been out of stock for a while too. This is the first time I haven't had a copy of the game in time for the first patch, and it's driving me crazy!!

Maybe a bit of an offside question, but can anyone remember the hemplars raven(or something?), cause I'm trying to understand that one again, but I don't know where to look(which episode and chapter). I thought it was episode 3 but I am not sure. I know it is not in chiru, or episode 1.

I really dont see how he could have used this incorrectly considering he at least did some info gathering when it came to things like the circles in the Key of Solomon. Maybe he aint good with paradoxes?

Let's be fair, Schrodinger's cat isn't even supposed to be a viable circumstance. It's obvious that some concepts are being bent for the sake of the story (and for their application in "witch logic").

It's not what you're used to seeing, but it's not an accident, either.
