"In the Persian Gulf War, 35 of the 146 combat deaths among U.S. soldiers have been blamed on friendly fire." In major operations of any kind, friendly fire will always be an issue, imagine how many people were butchered incorrectly in mad melee when people were barely wearing armor or uniforms .. or it became a wild muddy melee? I don't think the Americans can be blamed for that, my main response was that any comment about the Americans being able to defeat the Iraqis if their situations were swapped is utterly laughable. Completely. That said, it's an interesting analogy and reminds me of both ep. 11 and a video of Sumeragi playing World of Tanks. She ducked between two enemies and managed to avoid fire from one of them that killed the other..

Regards Desert Storm, there's been an in-depth analysis of the matter, which essentially boils down to "Combined arms >>> tanks alone." The air war over Iraq was a significant contributant to the Iraqis being demoralised and not combat-ready. Having said that, it is also true that American tankers enjoyed qualitative advantages in their hardware and training, against the Iraqis - as my example I refer to 73 Easting, where H.R. McMaster's Eagle Troop went up against an Iraqi force that outnumbered them heavily and slaughtered the Iraqis, due to a combination of surprise, bigger sticks, and better training.
I should also note that for much of its existence, the OPFOR cadre at the National Training Center simulated Soviet-bloc equipment, and regularly kicked the asses of the American units rotating to them for training. (OPFOR has since switched to more closely simulate current paradigm in Afghanistan.)

it is the Japanese kanji for "継".
google translate has it as -- succeed, prosper, flourish, achieve, accomplish, acquire or -- inherit, take over, succeed of course, it depend on the context it was used. without knowing how it is used in OAV 3 I tend to favor season 2, or just stay tune. PS: saw two spoilers from 2ch, since they are not confirmed I will skip it. but apparently "lot's of GUYS CRIED" after watching it. currently they are working on 8000+ msgs in around 24 hours, truly amazing. I personally haven't see 2ch ACG board exploded like that since the end of School Rumble manga. PSS: the cos Akiyama at the Ooarai showing is a guy!

Speculations: 1. Erika will be knocked out by friendly fire (from Maus) 2. Leopon will manage to have two~three kills. 3. Anglerfish will be knocked out by no other than the Pz III. |

Concering Oarai in general, it would be statistically interesting to compare Google results for them with regard to their earlier notoriety (footage of a giant offshore vortex during the 2011 tsunami, and damage to the town; before that, anglerfish and sweet potatoes) versus what they have now (Garupan otaku pilgrimage site). |

I'm with you on this one. It is discourteous to talk about the contents of the final episode before it has been aired. That said, speculation is different and should not be suppressed.

Wasn't that the one that was considered to be the Finnish school? The one next to it is Chihaton Academy. The pne at the end that is cut off is the Maginot Girls' College. Wait, what does that say on the St. Glorianna carrier plaque? In English no less (it is just slightly to blurry for me to read entirely). Looks like it is from th Queen to a Captain in the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Forces and the Spirit of Friendship is used.
