So, the redhead twintails girl join the hero's team. It leaves two more girls from ending theme not showing yet. The twintails girl's ability to see anyone with her vision is quite convenient.

Must suck not being able to procreate just because your ruler is gone. Kinda funny that Henriette was only gone eleven seconds before the dude snatched the elf boy. You'd think the kid would've yelled, she's certainly within earshot.

Speaking of Henriette, I dunno if it's just SubsPlease decision, but god the dialog for her was annoying AF. She keeps referring to herself in the third person; "Henriette is an only child, and her parents are long gone". I know that's literally what she is saying, but usually translators will adjust it. Annoyed me enough to demux the file, pull the subs and edit them. Only other time I went to that kind of effort was when some subber had Myne as "Main" in Honzuki no Gekokujou lol

I think I'm done. The writing is just not good; events seem like they happen s̶i̶m̶u̶l̶t̶a̶n̶e̶o̶u̶s̶l̶y̶ spontaneously and out of nowhere. This whole elven forest thing feels ridiculous; the thought that a random kid could just exit it when they were supposed to have their memories wiped when they do is just plain stupid. Let alone the fact that "haha I'm evil" guy just happened to pop up and know that this kid elf in an alley over any other elf that was in the city was his ticket to the forest.

My dissatisfaction with the series started when I expected Alan to settle in a town far away from the capital and live a normal life, but this never happened. Having that expectation and thinking it would be another Shin no Nakama is on me, but after giving it a number of episodes to grow on me, it has yet to do so. Paired with the subpar animation and weak story writing, I won't waste my time on this series any longer.

The character drawing looks like it's done by some untrained, maybe elementary school kids. I will continue to follow the story nevertheless. I just want to know which girl will end up with the hero. The hero wants to stay low profile, but his sense of justice won't allow him to rest.

Saving Anriette arc incoming? Allen isn't going to let her face punishment for his sake. And it might lead to her permanently joint the cast.

A pretty poor showing from Alan. His skills are top notch. But his mindset is a bit iffy. I mean yeah the odds are probably great that this shady group is attacking children for completely legitimate reasons . There's looking for an excuse to look the other way and there's that...

Probably a good thing to have this group around him. He needs people that will remind him of the parts of himself that he's trying to cut away.

Either way the Henrietta situation should prevent Alan from remaining passive. The girls were bit naive, but it seems like a stretch that the roadblocks just so happened to be lifted right now. Plus Henrietta can casually handle that situation seems like a bit of a stretch. The bigger thing is that she's obviously sacrificing her freedom and probably her life so Alan can have his free from all obligations second life.

If nothing else it should be a good reminder that his thinking isn't going to work. He has connections and people he cares about. So long as he has those he's not going to be able to avoid having to take action. Unless he's ok leaving Henrietta to her fate then he might as well just do what he can.

When Alan and his girls are about to leave the empire, a trap is set up for them. Alan suspects the messenger who informing him that the twintails is in trouble. The messenger is a good storyteller. Regardless, Alan has to save his friend. Alan has no choice and walk into the trap. He is quite confident about his ability, so it would be like walk in a park. The feeling of getting corner still makes him uncomfortable.

Jesus they write Alan as an idiot. Even Henriette, someone portrayed as intelligent and capable, couldn't see this betrayal by a group of assholes coming? Duh. Does she also assume Alan will never find out? If she lets herself be taken prisoner to supposedly free his party from suspicion and that results in her getting executed as an assassin, if/when Alan finds out does she not realize how badly that'd hurt him?
Knowing he is the reason his friend was executed? The better move would have been to just leave the Empire all together and be done with it.

It was fairly naïve to meet up with someone they are already suspicious of, and his guard is totally obscured, and they don't ask about that? Not that wearing full armor is weird, but when you're already on guard I'd want to see the person. I can forgive that, but when Mylene was suspicious of him at the inn and they didn't press the issue, that was agonizingly stupid.

Now the question will be is the redhead cousin complicit or not? I'm going to assume he's legit and that the Black Wolf asshole just got lucky that the cousin's guard just happens to have traits almost specifically tailored to allow this deception. We saw Alan manhandle the BW guy in the forest with ease, so if they show him having a tough time next week I'm going to eyeroll hard. BW guy coming back to be a PITA reinforces my belief that you should not just knock out enemies; finish them.

Also when you are trying to be inconspicuous, why the hell would you go to the guild wearing such suspicious outfits? Duuuuuh. Then Alan making his excuses to Lise about why they are running... seriously? Are you really worried about justifying ignoring the orders? Weird thing to worry about when you know they are your enemies.

The way they portray the girl escorting Henriette and how they shown the helmeted girl stopping to take care of the kid tells me they are going to write that the BW people are good (well, generally) and just have corrupt leaders. Escort chick will find some information that makes that obvious and since she's teeth-achingly upright she will then make it her mission to expose them and thus she'll join the Team Alan harem. If I were him though, I would not accept her. I don't want anyone in my party with an inflexible mindset like that.

Oh one last rant; you are leaving the city to chase after your kidnapped friend. Why the hell would you casually roll down the road? Why drag the useless cousin along in the first place? The plan should have been to race down the trail to catch up with them before they can get to the capital; no need to let them reach their power base if you can avoid it. For that matter, they shown three prison carts in the BW caravan. The point of using decoys is to throw people off; really should have sent them via alternate routes. Having all three together just means in an ambush, the heroes simply need to check three carts rather than one. Not much of an issue, heh.

Well, guess my assumption about the redhead was wrong heh. This episode further reinforced my opinion that Alan is a dumbass. The jaggy teeth explosion guy already gave you headaches and the BW didn't punish him. So you trust the same people to admonish him again? AFAIK, he has never met vice captain chick before, so why would her swearing on her honor mean anything to him? If I don't know who you are, I don't know if you are honorable or not so that oath is worthless.

Given how OP they've made Alan out to be, I find it very hard to believe the teal haired girl should be that much of a hassle for him. I was hoping he's mention that he's being hunted by BW so Henriette would realize she lied to her. Speaking of Alan's strength, when the explosion guy made his threat I would've thought the simpler move would be to lop his head off like Alan alluded to initially. You can't activate magic if you are dead, plus if he had beheaded him then he wouldn't have had to deal with the vice captain's interference

Alan's entire personality is just bizarre... I liked the first half of the series a reasonable amount but since Henriette has been involved the show kind of nosedived. If I wasn't this far in I probably would have dropped it by now.

Henriette and green hair have the same speech kusequirk. Wonder whether there's a meaning to that.

Henriette: "A rather dreary chamber, wouldn't you say?

Lizette: "I think it's better than a dungeon cell"

(Henriette ends the episode locked in a dungeon cell)

Henriette: "Okay, she was right."

So the cousin is apparently the mastermind behind this arc.
I hope Allen realized the truth by talking with the knights captain and he's just playing dumb for reasons.

I figured that's gonna be the case. If he really has no clue yet about redhead, God... he's even dumber than I thought lol

Now I'm kind of curious about Henriette's past life... not enough to read the LN or anything though. Tough to give this more than a 5.3/10 or so, it was an interesting series but just not very good.

Her past life was shown in the beginning of episode 1.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

I am not fond of how the plot twist is presented. It is somehow interesting.
The drawing really needs the improvement.

Yeah, I can't give this one more than a 5.5/10. Although maybe I should. It wasn't particularly good, but it wasn't annoying. There are shows I dropped along the way that was just exhausting to put up with. This was just below average. The animation wasn't anything special, the main character was a bit annoying at times, but the overall journey was fun enough. The girls definitely played a key role in keeping things enjoyable and the villains while dumb were amusing to see get struck down.

Also kind of nice in a way that they didn't save that many of the antagonists. Alan's brother and Curtis crossed lines they shouldn't have and couldn't come back as a result.

In some ways it was sad that Henriette was so chill about her fate. She really only wanted to keep an eye on Allen and make sure his vacation of a second life went as well as possible. Her own survival wasn't all that important. Presumably she'd just head back up to the heavens and chill out there anyways.

I hate to say it, but I presume she just didn't much care since she knew Allen had Riese and didn't see any place for herself. She was well aware of the category of old friend that Allen put her in and unlike Curtis she could at least restrain herself to not chase too hard after what she couldn't have. But now she's traveling around with the harem so who knows .

The show wasn't great, but I didn't hate it. So I'll give it props for that .

Still not fond of how Allen didn't act until Riese insisted to save Anriette, maybe author was still trying to balance the "I want to avoud problems" with the "I want to help my friends". The villain this time outside of being creepy wasn't really a threat, but well, this Is a series about and overpowered protagonist.
Anriette now officially joined the party and the harem, but It also was the last episode...time to go back to the LN (that isn't actually caught up with the anime yet, the English version of course) to see how the story goes on.
