I watched the first two episodes. Aside from the cringey forced "comedy" of Trainer fucking Special Week over by not telling her how to handle crucial things like paddock presentation and the winning concert (which I assume was partially written in such a way to conserve time)... Despite what I said when this was first announced, I don't think that what I watched was terrible.
All of the horse girls' designs are very cute/fun to look at and I like seeing them interact. Silence Suzuka's personally is really sweet and charming, something I didn't expect from how she was presented in promos, so that was a pleasant surprise. I might give it a couple more episodes to see if I want to stick with it or not.

Watched episode 1:
Surprisingly better than what I've expected. Liked both the race and idol parts. Although this somehow starts with the generic formula of sports animes where a promising beginner starts to build up the way to becoming famous... I'd still watch this. 7/10 for first ep.

Episode 3
Meh. I watched the first two episodes purely for the novelty lol factor and the fact that the comedy was actually kinda funny at times but now that the comedy has devolved in running gags and the novelty has worn off, I'm going to just go ahead and drop it now. DNF.

Lol'd at how long they kept showing Special Week's fat belly during the celebration. I honestly thought her skirt was gonna come undone during the race. And Gold Ship has to be my second favorite horse. Her training exercises are unorthodox to say the least. |

Because Hana didn't allow her to run her way. Suzuka likes to take the lead and keep it all throughout, just like the real-life Silence Suzuka. Hana wanted her to hold back and go all out only at the end. A sound strategy but that's not Silence Suzuka.
They should show more of her races though. It's a waste having her in the show and not display her awesome racing prowess.

Spe-chan's first Big Win and her first Big Loss in the 3rd episode.
Maybe because she ate too much and made her skirt hard causing her to lose 'horespower' But a loss is much needed. The Idol parts are ridiculous.

I was getting into a discussion elsewhere about how and why Special Week was eligible for trying to get a Triple Crown, but Silent Suzuka wasn't. This was not explained in the anime at all, and likely on purpose.
Silent Suzuka was born in May, late for race horses, which means he missed most of the major races as a 3 year old and only started racing when he was 4. This means he is automatically disqualified for the Triple Crown as the Derby is for 3 year olds only. One has to wonder how this translates to the fictitious setting. But the fact is Silent Suzuka was never in contention and they kept that part canon. Horse ages are likely not translated to horse girl ages, but chances are the anime studio doesn't want anyone to think too hard about it.

I like that they try to follow the real life events but I hope they explain this stuff in the show. It's not cool having to go read some wiki to understand what's going on in my cute horse chick anime.
On a side note. Since they are following real life, I wonder when we're gonna get the anime version of Mainichi Oukan and Takarazuka Kinen 1998. They already introduced El Condor Pasa and this episode showed Air Groove. So everything is ready for these big showdowns. I hope they won't skip them.
