The fight was definitely stunning in every way. I didn't expect ??? to show up here.
The claw guy ended up helping after all. And he got himself a good reward, although I doubt he'll be able to tame Mogami. I think the part inside the dream world should have been longer, or that there should have been more inner narration from Mob. Either way, I found it pretty lacking. The return to the real world and what happened afterward was good though.

So new episode. It really felt like different from the previous ones. There wasn't that much comedy and Reigen went from a bit asshole to pitiful. I wonder if Mob will aid him next week or if he will apologize to his student.

Reigen was utterly blind when it came to Mob's growth and the state of his own life. As it turns out, he was the one without any friends. He was a real asshole to Mob, but I still felt bad for him because we know he isn't a bad guy.

In fact, I think the recent eps have shown us Mob's increasingly thoughtful and sensitive personality well, and I can see exactly why a few girls have shown some interest in him...which is of course completely unlike a harem protagonist. The story has done a good job of making it clear that these girls appreciate Mob's good qualities as a human rather than necessarily having romantic attraction at all. I'm sure Mob's future girlfriend will an amazing woman...to put up with his blandness, she'd have to be. |

Okay, this episode sold me. The relationship between Mob and Reigen took an interesting turn. Mob admired Reigen for his advices which actually quite striking. Kind of like a good father figure. Reigen also saw Mob in need of help which made him keep on with the whole exorcism job. The way Reigen tried handling the media was a bit complicated due to how things escalated but Mob was optimistic to the core. It's a shame season 2 appears to be having a smaller audience than season 1 though.
By the way, in case you are interested in a minianalysis about the series. |

I'm glad things ended well for Reigen. People were obviously right about him being a total fraud, but it's not like he actually ever hurt anybody. He handled the fake stuff himself leaving his clients satisfied and left the actual spirit matters to Mob.
This incident made Reigen realized how badly he had been treating Mob recently, and the two naturally made up at the end. Mob never resented him because he knows he's a good guy.
