It is kinda amusing that the server would go out at that particular moment, eh? I made a double post somewhere because of it also. (Of course being a moderator I could simply clean up the mistake so perfectly that nobody can tell where it was.)

Important Notice:
While the poll is going to be over in about 8 hours, the results are not final until they have been vetted by the staff. xris is going to review all votes to make sure that nobody has done anything they shouldn't. Also, all votes by people who registered after the beginning of the contest will be removed at that time.

I'm kinda hoping that you'll eventually put up more than three banners, just like last time, there are so many good ones it would be a shame to limit ourselves to only three

This time, Wandering_Youth and mantidor both said were very upset to discover that the contest arrived while they weren't paying attention and missed their chance to submit banners. I was also rather diappointed not to get any banners from them and I'll bet there were a few others who would have liked to compete as well. To forstall such a tragedy next season, I'm going to give everyone a chance to circle their calendars. The Spring banner contest will begin on (or very near) February 24th. Not checking the forum frequently is no excuse this time guys!

Thanks to everyone... I never had won anything on "teh internot" so, I fell really surprised. All I can say is Thanks.

I'll tell the little story about the banners... I saw the thread 4 hours before the contest for submitting banners ended, so I had to do it fast.

I started searching for some nice images in my HDD, then I saw someone who said "somebody, submit a Tsukihime banner"... then I thought, why not Fate Stay/Night? So I made one with Saber... then, I really wanted to submit another, there wasn't time to make a completely new one, so I grabbed the cute image and made another...

Now, the problem... I posted about an hour before the contest ended, and without notice (or noticing? excuse my english) I cropped too much the banners, like 580 X 60!
Then it was the fastest editing on my life, and I finished, I think 20' or 10' before the lock.

I also made an Ai Yori Aoshi one, but I reaaaaaaaly hate that series, so I didn't submit that one :P

Like someone said, the image isn't too winter-like, but there is a really complicated (not so much) work with Photoshop Bevel and Emboss, Gradient and shape for the font.

Well, that's it... thanks a lot again.

I haven't seen that! All I've been seeing are Prince of Chronics' and GG_Luna128's banners, but I'm overjoyed that my Alpha banner made it on top of the site! I'm now one step closer to my much dreamed of YKK forum theme. ^^;

The forum is channeling everyone's wishes. I see Diabolistic's adorable banner in the header of the page. Osaka looks so settled in the top of the forum. Her expression makes me want to give her a cookie and pet her head.

Thanks, but it was all my fault, my fault! I did notice the contest starting but I let myself get caught in a bunch of stuff I had to made for the university and I completly forgot it, >_<! but it wont happen next time, I have learn my lesson.

and the funny thing is that it happened again! I was saving my vote to rescue any banner at the last minute, and I didnt make it on time... although my favorite banner made it ^_^ sadly I just found out Hellychan's banner only got 4 votes

its not fair! These formums need more bishies in the banners!

Overall the winner banners are awesome, congratulations! next time hopefully Ill be back from this period of hiatus Ive been into, I want to be the adicted forumite I once was!

but for now Ill be going away and probably will come back after the new year, so merry christmas and a happy new year to you all ^__^

Yep, remember NSW said it's possible he'll put other banners besides the top 3 on the forum. Which is good - isn't it boring to see the same 3 banners again and again?

I'm surprised I got through though. I didn't want to enter at first... it was a 45-minute job on the last day of submitting which I did hurriedly and ended up getting late to go to somewhere. Oh well, I'm not complaining.

I wonder who to put on the Spring one... though actually, I was hoping that after Spring at least to introduce a different theme rather than the seasons. Like, perhaps a techno theme for one season or an action theme or something.

Spoiler for for anyone who actually gives a damn: All I did was take this pic and rotate it a bit. I added on snow on the collars and what not. I also gave Kino a very subtle snow-breath. Then I have these custom brushes I made last year (I used about 3 or 4) and randomly splattered white in varying transparenices on the background and then manually erased out the words "forum" and threw on "Animesuki" with a glow matching Kino's coloru scheme so that there's some balance. Finally I Color Balanced Kino so that she became a bit bluer and fit the thing. I know she looks a bit sick but the thing is I had to because if I didn't she would contrast too much. I wonder who to put on the Spring one... though actually, I was hoping that after Spring at least to introduce a different theme rather than the seasons.
