Inquisition isn't a bad game to start with, but i would recommend playing DA: Origins first because One it is slightly better than inquisition in terms of story only slightly, playing it first would give a better understanding as why the main villain inquisition needs to be stopped, Now inquisition doesn't do a bad job with it far from from it, but playing atleast Origin first does help it, it also gives more background to certain important character in inquisition

The Qunari's ones are the last on Adela's post. If you check the thread, Eham has made more progress in bringing these in game, and you can even see a few modded images back at the official forum too.

Just started this game a few days ago on PC, I'm about half way through the game and it's kinda eh... alright so far? It's not wowing me but it's not as disappointing as DA2 was.
If there's one thing that is bugging me no end is the limited customization and horrible helmets. All the open face helmets have dumb pieces of leather where character hair is supposed to be sticking out of their hat and it's ugly to the point of annoying. Wish Bioware take a look at Korean MMOs or games like Saint's Row that offers tons of customization.

Playing along...
You know, not that I necessarily object to them cleaning up some of the more bizarre character and race artwork they did in DA2, but it does seem a little odd that Spoiler:
On a completely unrelated note Spoiler:
Probably going to start the game over once the new video card I ordered gets here. This GTX 460 handled DA2 well, but is scraping the bottom for Inquisition. I want to see how this stuff is supposed to look. Oh, and I'm kind of getting used to the PC combat controls. They're... not great. Probably more tolerable for me playing as a mage than they would be for a warrior, but still, not great. I think the lack of a single-click auto-attack is one of the biggest failures in comparison to the previous two games. And, you know, all the precise conditions and tactics you could give your companions, if you got into that sort of thing. I never delved as much into that as one could, but it was useful.

The camera controls (or lack of control) actually made me nauseated the first few hours. The next day it got better as I figured out how avoid going tactical when I just wanted to move the camera or have it just perch behind my character's shoulder.
I haven't turned AI off so far and have been able to tweak companions into not being stupid (I haz a cannon. I shall charge to point-blank range no matter what the knobs are set at -- DA:O). I played most of DA:O like the old DOS Pools of Radiance. One action at a time, manual (bleh). DA:I has been wonderful in comparison.

Whelp, i just finished the game and boy.... i'm quite torn on the game in general, while i enjoyed playing the game, there's so many flaws in it that really shouldn't be there considering it's a sequel.
I like the tone and general direction the story went with a greater focus on the world's politic and society but the side missions is terribly dull and really not worth the effort of doing it. The best "side" story writing is in the war table missions that is mostly text dump in a choose your own adventure format which is a shame. While the game presents an open world style but quests proceeds in a linear fashion. If there's another sequel (of course there will be there another dragon age), i hope they look into refining their quest structure. Let players proceed in multiple ways and put quality over quantity of the missions and item collections in the game (the shard and bottle collection doesn't add into player experience). Gameplay wise, the tactic system is too limited while companion AI is as smart as a donkey. The original DA:O tactical system was so good, i'm not sure why they didn't just lift that wholesale. The game doesn't flow properly as well with too much boring side quests too early. I think most players going through the game first time is going to end up overleveled and trivialized a lot of the combat. Character wise, it's better than most previous Bioware games. For me, Morrigan have always been the best character ever written for Bioware and she continues to be the best despite her brief appearance in Inquisition. A lot of people probably can't stand Sera but she's probably one of the better written character in the game. While other character probably gets better lines in general (Iron Bull, Dorian, Varric), Sera have a worldview that's not only juvenile but also hypocritical tempered by her upraising. She's brash but breakdown when confronted with foreign element that's out of her league like a tabby cat used to being the king in a field of mice being thrown into kennel of warhounds. It's a pity i played a male character this time around and couldn't romance her to see all her writings. Overall, it's a mediocre game that still possess that iconic Bioware writing quality but should have been better gameplay wise considering the legacy of Bioware's RPG.

Only 250 saves allowed across all characters? That's not even enough for one character, mine right now being the case in point. That's a pretty aggressive hard limitation for a game where people like me are likely to have more than a dozen characters before we stop playing.

Hmm... Played a second character through the prologue-thing before going back to my first (discovered that yes, warriors are indeed harder to use with these controls than mages), and I noticed something that I didn't catch the first time. On the way up to the forward camp, there were dead templars scatted here and there... each of them with what looked like a piece of red lyrium hanging on a chain around their neck.

Recently came back to the game to finish up the story, have to say, rather disappointing, good game but I personally think they tried too hard with the MMO side of the game and filled it with too much worthless junk.
Shame I really liked dragon age origins, awakening was ok, but this was good for the first 20-30 hours then it's just the same.... Oh well done and dusted now, hope others find this better than my experience. |

My new video card has finally arrived (expedited shipping my ass...trological sign), and... whoa. I can SEE! Loaded up my character who happened to be on the Western Approach, and the draw distance was incredible. A 'fog of war' (so to speak) that I hadn't even realized had been there was suddenly lifted, and I could see practically from one end of the map to the other.
Everything runs smoother, too. The cutscenes (based on a small sample) actually run smoothly now, rather than lagging up and having pieces get chopped out. Time to start over and play the game the way it's meant to be played! I've only got about 80 hours on my main character, so it's no big loss. Hardly counts as having played at all.
