I'm thinking it's because of two things:

1. They don't really make any imaginative shots or creative angles in showing the fights unlike with GuP. C3 works in showing the fights with clarity, but rather forgets to make it look dynamic.

2. The soft sounds of airsoft rounds hitting doesn't really sound great compared to the loud, thundering booms of tank guns.

The one thing C3 does have to improve its action are the Rambo imagination scenes, which are quite epic Also, they show the tactics used pretty well, like that impressive bounding overwatch (the first person providing covering fire while the second advances, then the second person lays down fire once they reach their position while the first advances, repeat etc.) where they clearly show you what and how they're doing it without needing to tell you.

How about both of you take a chill pill? Gosh, it always make me feel bad for liking both thing and standing in a middle of thing like this.

As long as they focus on the main theme of the show, I'm cool with it.

Do you realy want stand BETWEEN tanks one sides and Guns other? That isn't the nicest way to die

Eitherway I do like guns (which guy wouldn't), But tank is just undeniable more awesome.

BTW my avatar is naval heavy cruiser, which is also cool.

You're talking to a guys who's visited GuP thread, Uppotte thread, Aoki Hagane thread, Strike Witches thread, Sky Girls thread, even Gundam, Symphogear, Nanoha, you named it. I already stand in the middle of almost every military weapon in the world. I don't think there is a nicer way to die than that.

Back on the topic, I just hope our main girl will grow up quickly, or she's going to be a big burden for the team when the time come.
I guess the main draw of the first episode is the girls' interaction, the jazz, and that blond Rambo. The fight is okay with that method "show, don't tell", but it still need a little push to become really interesting.

Watched the first ep.

It's the fun show indeed but I agree that it lacks of something.

While anime about paint ball gun/ BB gun sport is new in anime industry, it is still based on a gun battle which is not really as unique as tank battle in GuP. However, I can see that it has an potential to improve itself in the future ep.

Also, I like the lead girl.

An awkward girl get into a new school with big expectations.
Damn, that club sure has some weird interests.
Has an interesting theme, but I wasn't into Girls & Panzer or Upotte.
So I think I'll skip this one and leave it to the guys LOL

Well that was quite fun, and I think the imagination scene was the best bit.
I wonder if they'll do more movie parodies, that could work well.

Thinking about it, I don't really see a great similarity to Girls und Panzer.
The thing about GuP was that the entire premise was patently ludicrous, but played straight that it worked.

The thing about this show is that it shows a game/sport/pastime you could actually go out and do. And that's a big difference!
(Which also makes me wonder if they're being sponsored by the people who make airsoft guns!)

Tokyo Marui was seen in the credits, giving out a possibility that themed TM airsoft guns may actually be released.

I agree with everybody, there is indeed something missing here that was present in GUP. I don't know what it is though.

also for some reason the voice of the long haired girl irritated me, it was off.

I'll still give it an episode or 2 before i decide whether to drop it or not, after all they promised an even bigger hentai next episode lol

The real life moving boxes are of the Black Cat. So they use whatever animal as a reference to it.

Well, pretty much what I expected - although I hope, hope, hope that the series goes into some details regarding the MC.

Cute girls doing cute things is a pretty reliable formula for me, but I do like to have some character development of some sort.

For now it is a keeper but I could see myself dropping it if nothing happens with the characters in general.

Seems like there's some sort of Gun/Tank Craze in Japan...

A lot of Gun and Tanks manga/anime are poping out.

On another note... I bet those Air-pellets from that MachineGun still hurts like crazy.

I actually recall reading once of a guy from Japan who went to America for IPSC and won the 2004 Real Steel Challenge.

Turned out that he'd been practicing accuracy, reloading and all the other handgun skills with airsoft guns, and only managed to get a real gun when he arrived in America. He said that he didn't have too much trouble with getting used to the real gun, because of the shape and all being the same as his airsoft gun, and just needed to get used to the recoil and weight. Link here and another here

Having said that, Sakai did spend a couple of weeks getting used to the real gun, but by that point it seems he'd done loads of dryfire practice (which airsoft essentially is), and at the short ranges involved there's little difference between airsoft and the real deal. (Well, for handguns, anyway.)

Edit: To add further - shooting aside, airsoft guns still let you practice the other essentials. Draw, stance, movement, reload - the form is the same, the actions are the same.

Also, I really found Yura's delusions to be amusing. And now I'm wanting to look up airsoft clubs in malaysia.

Eh... I guess this show isn't for me. The only part that interested me was when "Rambo" delusion mode started with jazz music playing in the background.
