Why? So only you and maybe nine other people can watch it? This is an anime, not some National Geographic documentary special.

In that case it will have to be like Game of Thrones and not a lighthearted magic witch anime.

This looks more interesting more than I thought.
I had read manga, it was good but nothing special.
Only reason I watch because I bored, from harem/ light novel anime.
This is unexpectedly promising, and I decided to follow this series.

More like "History channel WAS for"
In the past it really a HISTORY channel, many historical stories either peoples, items or lands. It was something I can watch all days.
But now, even H2 channel was boring many things that not really historical shows

There still many history of peoples, counties or myths to be made but they didn't do it.
Instead they just made shows about trading, A LOT OF THEM!!

Just finished watching the first episode. I have to say that it's an interesting take of the Hundred Years War concept by adding witches. But seriously, what's with the two fingers thing anyway!?

It's giving them the finger, using two fingers.

two fingers ? do you mean the V Sign which archer/bowman gave to Galfa to mock him ?

Maybe this is the simplest explanation :

But their two fingers can't compare to Taka Kato's gold finger!

My top anime this season
Went in with 0 expectations since I didn't even read synopsis but it was glorious, Was funny as hell with all the sex jokes which reminded me of Seitokai Yakuindomo and that Dragon part was just cool.

Maria is adorable and funny as hell.

It's really funny too

Cause these days the 2 finger now symbolize "peace sign"... but a lot of places still think the 2 finger is for "giving the finger".

Basically the difference is, 2 finger palm toward others is peace sign, while 2 finger palm away from others is "giving the finger"

As for the anime itself, pretty interesting, I love witches, and I also hate churches, so this anime is awesome ATM.

Apparently the two finger palm away from others means the peace sign in Canada. I know this because when I was at Uni, we had a friend who came from Canada and giving the two fingers (palm away from others) to people, even random passersbyers. We gave it about a month before we told him what it actually meant in the UK. XP

I am loving this show already. Maria and her succubus are already likable characters, the setting leans more on authentic than fantasy (minus the magic and succubi), and the dialogue is believably written and not at all awkward. If I didn't keep watching this there'd be something wrong with me.

I heard that homosexuality was a common thing among nobles in medieval times.

Hmm, are the angels only opposed to outside forces like Maria and themselves intervening because it "disrupts" order? So would they be OK if humans were the ones to stop their own stupid fighting? That seems like a big condemnation of humanity, rather than just organized religion.

Episode 2:
I think the BD will probably remove some of the censors.

Overall, a solid episode. Animation quality remains top tier while we see more of Maria's potential. The fantasy elements are also pretty well drawn out whether it's some of the mystical creatures or just the setting itself.
