No it wasn't. Asami obviously got married and had Erina after he graduated, which was long after Joichirou left.

Once Gin and Jou vacated the 1st and 2nd seat respectively, Azami had every chance to be the 1st seat, given his astounding position in his 1st year.

You mean Jouichiro and Senzaemon. These two sure know Azami really well, and they are also shippers on deck.

But calling the police won't solve the real problem here. And that's why Souma, and by extension the others, are the only ones who can help Erina return back to her former self.

I'm sure everything will be throroughly explained much later, so don't jump to hasty conclusions and call old man's request to Souma "senseless".

I think Senzaemon asked Jouichirou to "save" Erina before. But he couldn't.

Yeah, he was better I guess, though if he had managed to perfect her god tongue who knows, she might have been able to be in a higher seat or even the first one. Though him being erased form the history of the school means she is the youngest to achieve that.

IDK bout you but when you're suffering deep emotional trauma you usually get a therapists that actually knows how to help you deal with stress/anxiety/trauma.

But hi like you said it's shounen might as well roll with it.

Err we don't really know how the elite 10 in Azami's generation stacks up to the elite 10 now. Or for that matter how Erina stacks up to her fellow elite 10 members. For all we know Erina might actually be better than the likes of Kuga but haven't really bothered to found out due to lack of motivation to Shokugeki with the other members of the elite 10.

Its a common occurence in Asian households, so I don't see the issue there.

My folks canned and whipped me with a belt regularly, and that's a pretty common punishment in the country I reside in.

Word of mouth (especially if the child also testifies to getting abused) are solid evidence for gaining custody. In America/EU a least, if Erina makes it clear that she's terrified of her father and doesn't want to see him a restraining order can be issued by the government while the custody issue is sorted out.

Not really the same. My parents have also hit me regularly before but they've never restricted me like Azami did to Erina. I can still see my friends, read my own letters, choose my own calling in life etc. unlike how Erina is treated.

Not that hard if you have enough money. Senzaemon is filthy rich, so hiring a detective agency to record a video of Azami abusing Erina and a psychologist to prove her emotional trauma is pretty easy to him.
