Seriously though, Akari is like a sister to Haruto. He doesn't see her as a woman like he does Yuzuki. Okay, he barely sees Yuzuki as a woman, but you know what I mean.

Corrected. You surely meant that girl with Short hair where he was only hanging around and reading manga for nearly 2 years without any form of passion.
There are many chapters that demonstrate how nervous and attracted Haruto is to Yuzuki.

Let me say it like this. The thing with Asuka was just hanging out and reading manga for 1.5 years and nothing more.
Now he is in his first real relationship with a hot babe. It´s easy to see that he is extremely attarcted to her and because of that he is nervous and shy too. Something that he never was with any other girl besides that crush he had for Nanami. They are together for max 2 months and had not much time for eaych other unril they started to live together. The nervousness and shyness will vanish sooner or later while they live together anyway. And then follows the nookie.

Yep, as sadly shallow as it is. When a manga couple enters a sexual relationship (whether it be in the story or an epilogue and they have a family), I feel like the manga has achieved something.
