It's a 2 cours show, but I haven't been able to find the exact number of episodes yet. It can be between 24-26 episodes.

As far as I can tell, there have not been any announcements for character songs yet. However, they have announced today concerning the new opening and end songs for the 2nd cour. The ending songs from both cours are sung by the seiyuu for Akame, Sora Amamiya.

Schele song = airhead
Mine song = childish song
And Bulat song = kinda trapish :x




Esdeath song = more likely about being sadist and Tatsumi I think

There have been debates about Seryu before a few pages back and other places on whether people love her or hate her and why. Got as heated as the Esdeath debate because of differing moral views and whatnot.

It really depends on what is considered as the welfare of the empire and the subjects. From the empire perspective, destroying Night Raid is bringing "peace" to the empire. Removing political opposition who could threaten to "weaken" the empire could also be considered as protecting the current empire.

Yeah, our modern perspective do view what the empire in general is doing as immoral. And yes, anything the PM is doing is considered corruption. However, when it relates to Esdeath, it is a lot more grey. Is annihilating the opposing army considered corrupt? It's mean, yes, but it is a strategy in a time of war. Is following orders to those above her considered corruption? Not necessarily. A soldier's duty is to follow orders. Now, if those orders are against his conscience, then he can defy them. However, in that scenario, he will usually be listed as a traitor and expelled from the military (or worse, executed), especially in a medieval feudal system.

So far, in the anime, nothing Esdeath has done can be considered corruption. Morally grey, yes, but corruption, no.

Esdeath didn't even try to rationalize it like that to Najenda. She did what she did so she'd have people to fight and torture tomorrow, not for the good of the empire.

I didn't really feel that much of an attachment to Schele(?). It just felt like...she was here one episode, gone the next. There was almost no time to make an attachment. What's the point of dedicating an ep to characterising her then throwing her under the bus like that?
