The love is still there, but between a mother to her son. As for the health problems, I only think it's affecting Izuru because his unit awakened.

Simon wearing a visor for no given reason always struck me as suspicious. That combined with hair similarity between himself and both Izuru and Asagi was also eyebrow-raising.

This show actually answers all the jokes and wild speculations some people threw at them. And yeah, they even went further than the wildest speculations by making both Izuru & Asagi into Simon’s sons

Now I just hope the show doesn't pull a Leia on the girls although it'd be fun if Tamaki turns out to be Asagi & Izuru's sister

None of the Wulgaru have shown to have any health issues as of yet. Teoria has been on earth for years away from her people and the means to slow it down but she seems fine. Aside from desiring to take the human DNA, they haven't shown any health issues from their prolonged failure. This makes me wonder if there is something else happening to Izuru.

teoria's nutritional supplements are "replacement plugs" if I remember correctly.

simon and teoria did it, that's why teoria knew izuru even before he lost his memory

, i'm giggling at the fact that simon managed to do something even jiart wasn't able to.

they both share the same paternal DNA. hmm, there might be more to the name "rabbits" than we (or i) was able to see before.. what are rabbits known for??

I'm guessing kei will end up with asagi, and izuru will become the hero he always wanted to be.

I'm not really seeing the mom/dad angle of this. A resemblance due to sharing genes, sure, but there's an awful lot of qualifiers going on. "Kind of like brothers", "shared DNA", "created", "manipulated genes", and so on. I don't think we're talking about direct genetic material sharing (sperm/egg), but rather, artificial creation and genetic manipulation of a fetus to produce a super soldier, of sorts.

I won't argue relation, but I don't think it's direct descendant from two parents. I don't think it's just that the machines need DNA specific to each pilot, I think each machine only works if the pilot has Walguru DNA. In fact, the mechs may not even have the requirement of specific pilot DNA, and it might just be something fabricated to help prevent an obvious clue about a classified project from being noticed.

I'm personally guessing that Izuru and them were all born normally but had Wulgaru dna inserted into them at a later time. This is why they seemed to have their past COMPLETELY erased when compared to others who still know their parents like Chandra. They needed to have their memories erased to keep it a secret even from themselves to avoid complications. The choice to use Teoria's dna on Izuru likely came because the 2 of them were close.

no kidding. I wish they were more clear how her dna was used. Did she give birth to him, just submitted dna that created him, or was her dna used on him after he was already alive? That is the question i want answered.

Well, it would go without saying that the DNA used would have to pertain to their abilities and not their appearances. Either way in terms of dialogue, they take some very lax approaches to how DNA works.

As far as them being 'brothers' though, pfft. Unless they were all born in test tubes there's no way. But it seems that there are some things that they're still not telling us. There's more to this thread and I suspect Commander Simon or Teoria will explain it to Izuru soon enough.

So we get to see Teoria fight now? This should be quite a show!

It's like he's nothing compared to Wulgaru's high ranking officials but to vanguards who cling onto their cartridge and soon die when it's gone. Well, this might probably be a good thing since perhaps a Wulgaru has a choice to have their DNA genetically altered with a human, continue the race through a union of both races. There's prob an artificial womb for the birth of those students. I doubt that they would utilize real women for something this secret and important.

Being a genetic donor does not make that person a "parent".

Spoiler for simon and izuru speculation: what is Simon and Izuru are the same person rather than father and son? Izuru is suddenly degrading rather quickly when he never showed any symptoms before. The gate battle and season finale are approaching quickly as well. What if Izuru tries to sacrifice himself to put a stop to the gate and somehow goes back in time due to the gate going out of control due to its destruction? While there he starts going by Simon in order to prepare for the inevitable Wulgaru invasion? Or he lost his memories from the gate destruction and started to go by it as a result Kindve out there but the secrecy concerning Simon has felt odd to me. __________________
