No one want to mention that everyone lied to Cruz, not saying his power was a stigmata and that Blade hadn't learned it. No way Blade just conviently learned it after some time. I agree with others something is defintiely up with this. I doubt Blade has been changing due to the increase in power. Clone Arclight basically did the same thing and he retained his original personality. Plus, I doubt that this would happen this far in the story and that Blade is strong-willed. Also, this the first time a stigmata has reacted to another, let alone the same one, meaning something is fishy. How can Blade use shield of Aegis even better than Cruz to unlock stigmata than force Cruz's to fully awaken? This also still doesn't explain the eyes he had. How does Blade have Aruka's stigmata? He only "supposedly" learned it when they were attacked by her clones. How does he suddenly know the Fourth Wave and Ice, a fragment we haven't seen him encounter in the present?

I also find it interesting how Saten couldn't prepare for this. How he was tricked so easily by Blade, surprised about Shield of Aegis, and the powers he had that surpassed his clone were proven useless after the angel appeared? Another reversal seems unlikely, but anything can happen in this manga apparently. Some part of me believes that the Arclight is testing Blade to show his real character to Cruz in order for him to lose faith in him. It was rather easy for Blade to gain the upper hand and obtain almighty. All I can say I can't wait for the next chapter.

Blade knowing Ice and being able to use the Fourth Wave the way is supposed to is most likely a product of the alterations that were made in his memories. Eve's kneesocks also suddenly appeared on her legs, and Yamada's arm was healed.

You know, given all the death and destruction that's occurred in this arc, I just realized that Setsuna is pretty much now the head of Simeon. I'm not sure if Uten and Kafka were exploding like the rest of the clones were (or if they were killed by Gido, who knows) but pretty much everyone in Simeon besides Kuchinashi and the rest of the Girl Squad is now dead.

So yeah, my favorite character is now the head of a super evil organization! Never would've guessed that'd happen.

Also worth noting that Ishiyama is now probably the head of Triple Six. I wonder what he's up to since the last time we saw him was when he and Gido were facing off against Seth and Solva. I wonder where Saten was to get those two bodies, too.

I think the Goddess part refers to what Shield of Aegis is, the shield of Athena, the Greek Goddess of lots of things (not gonna list them). I wouldn't read too much into that besides it the kanji related to Cruz's Fragment.

What I believe happened was that Blade memorized the Fragment, Shield of Aegis, but never knew how to use it because he didn't know what it was. After seeing Cruz use it, then he was able to understand the Fragment and fully learn it. It's the same process with the Fourth Wave with Saten, being able to "learn" the Fragment, but not knowing how to use it.

But that's just my thoughts on the issue.

Worse thing is that she probably won't be able to avenge her boss, though the killer is technically her boss too. The same with Kushinashi.

However, the timing was just too convienent. Blade knew he couldn't fight Arclight head to head. He must have had an ace to use later. He's only seen Cruz use it four or five times. Its too quick to learn it on the spot like that, and too awaken the stigmata before its original user could. In fact, the stigmata on the Cruz appeared right as Blade released his. This is the first time these two things have happened. I'm wondering if Cruz is truly the owner of Shield of Aegis.

Oh, and one final point that I just thought of after re-reading the chapter...

For reasons already said I'm sure it won't take long for Saten and Gido to get back on their feet again.

But man, things aren't looking good. It's just too much of a coincidence that the Second Christ didn't have any regenerative ability to reconstruct his body and that Blade too lacks such. I obviously mean Doppelganger, Saten has it, Blade doesn't. And given Adam N. wears his collar two years ahead in the future, I'm afraid Blade is about to meet with the same fate.

I always got the impression that some of Cruz's memories were borrowed in that world, as well. Maybe it would have been only Blade's memories if Cruz and Saten hadn't stumbled in, but they are contaminants that changed the very flow of time as regards to Blade and friends. Cruz was even able to blaze a path using his memories where Blade had a hole in his. And the stigmata belonging to someone Blade knows -- well, he knows Cruz. Besides, who is to say that Blade's memories were only up until that point in time, and didn't include some from a future where he knew Cruz has a stigmata? Point is, I wouldn't put too deep a thought into it, that whole memory world stuff was weird.

Let me try tackling this...

For the first part, I'm not sure Gido needed to be there for the cloning process. And if he did go to the City from time to time, I'm guessing he said something like, "I'm going to the City to buy some things, be back in a few days." (or something along those lines. Blade and Eve don't seem like the brightest ones to think something is up, especially with it being Gido)

We don't know when Blade met Mengroze but Blade could have met Mengroze sometime after Cruz burned the marking on his hand. If that were the case, then Mengroze would have the mark on his hand when Blade met him. That'd be consistent with what we know of the Memory World: everything was jumbled up with different pieces from different time periods mixed together for this story. As for him not knowing who burned the mark on him, Blade may have not known that piece of information and may have not "memrozied" enough of Mengroze to have that information in the first place.

I'd like to talk a bit about those Lightning beams coming out of Blade's back starting page 12. At first I thougth they looked like the "veins" connecting arclight to the Angel in the cocoon which he was absorbing. On second thought I figured they sorta looked like wings when I looked at the other pages. I think disk called those "veins" out of Arclight's back "wings" too btw.

Now I thought since we saw them appear around the time Blade showed the stigmata on his left hand it might be a part of Aegis shield, but Yamada was using his Aegis shield too and we haven't seen the seem lightning beams coming out of his back.

Wings are associated with doppleganger(according to Saten and what's said in the new new testament about where the stigmata are supposed to go) and then I vaguely remembered something from the anime.



In the anime at some time Gido was talking about a shield powered by doppleganger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sG0fYmESMOQ (skip to 20:10) But Blade shouldn't have doppleganger so that can't be it right? I know the anime is a completely different thing which doesn't lend itself to draw any sort of conclusions from with regards to the manga(which I won't), but if Imai kami helped write the story for the anime there might have been little things in it which have ties to the manga even if that wasn't clear at the time.

I think it's just Blade using Shield of Aegis. Blade's using it to protect his back. Those beams of energy (wings) only appeared after he showed the stigmata of Shield of Aegis. Cruz is using Shield of Aegis in front of him and you can see those beams of energy in front of Cruz as well. I think it's supposed to show us the size of the shield.
