What's Battletech doing in the Nanohavese!?

Hmm, actually, that might be interesting...a Nanoha/Battletech fusion... and then we'll have to decide which types of mechs go with which character...

Well it's because that's more than 40 millenia ago. Mechs, even darkness, have come and gone out of fashion.

I wonder if that's why MGLN never had any bad guys who were truly evil for the longest time....

Nanoha movie was voted the 4th best anime movie of the fiscal year 2009. Only losing out to Evangelion, Summer Wars and Macross Frontier. It even topped Haruhi.

Saw that yesterday on Sankaku but I'm impressed by those numbers : Nanoha Movie 1st : $*2,444,050 *19scr *3w
So few screens and only 3 weeks of projection and they managed to earn so much. Looks like a very good operation for 7Arc.

Edit : Of course, Nanoha 1st being ranked 4th in the best movies of 2009 is great. Looks like Japanese fans loved it :].

A very good operation that leads to another very good operation...please?

But I was more impressed by it's quality rating, than it's per-theater performance. Both are nice to look at, though.

Hmm 19 screens, not a bad release for an anime movie.

Good to see people liked it. Hopefully we can see stuff like this more often. Like an A's movie, or an animated Sound Stage X ova. Hell, maybe even an animated Vivid or Force. Though, I'm probably asking for too much >_>

Pity the movie will never be dubbed with how poorly the first two seasons sold in the States. I'd be interested to see how much money it would make if it opened on a screen here.

I fear that even if the Nanoha movie was perfected by God himself it simply would not sell well because of it's lack of popularity within the states. Unless "word of mouth" did something amazing.

If breaking a million here for an anime movie release (not 3D related) is a rare exception
Spoiler for One example:
just imagine what the domestic sales of an anime movie like Nanoha with no advertising or promoting would look like.

You might get a sell out with one screen per big city. More than that could be pushing it.

Fate seems to be crying an awful lot in the movie, if the screencaps are anything to go by.

@Radiantbeam: Nope. I just happen to like those ones, so I post them. They're all from the same scene. After Fate wakes up from the Asura and finds the resolve to join Nanoha in fighting.

That makes you an advanced Fate fan. Congrats.

She doesn't cry often, so really, that alone should say it's somewhere near the end of the series/movie.

This is the only scene where she cries in the movie, that she didn't cry in the series. "Precia! Alicia!!"

Fate had time to herself to reflect on her past with Precia around the beginning of the same episode right before confronting Precia. It looked as if she shed all her tears right there (from all the built up emotion).

If there was a reason she didn't shed any tears after Precia fell to her doom, she may have been too shocked to shed any tears. Even after everything Precia said to Fate late in the series, Fate still wanted to save her which may have made her lack of tears unusual. (If the above image is the same scene in the movie, I believe that her emotion looks about right.) I couldn't use the excuse that she didn't have any more tears to shed because she had alot more the following episode with her and Nanoha's reunion.
