The form isn't even explained in the movie, he just pulls it out of his ass. This entire movie feels like one giant shitpost.

Piccolo also gets another power-up on top of Ultimate and turns orange, the only color they hadn't used yet.

Oh and nevermind what I said about Gohan being the only one losing transformations, apparently Goten and Trunks can't turn into Super Saiyans anymore.

Gohan's hair isn't white at all. It's a dark shade of gray. Only his eyebrows are white. Maybe the colors are just messed in those screenshots, I don't know.

Ok, after reading the spoiler here, there and every where, here is my initial thought of the movie

Gohan got a new form...so see? don't trust the leak too much

Reading at the other forum, oh man, ppl were complaining Gohan did not get a new form, and when he does get a new form, ppl complain it's coming out of nowhere...sigh..well ask Frieza back in Namek how he felt about goku became super saiyan out of nowhere

I am not really a gohan fan but it's refreshing to see the focus to shift away from goku and vegeta once in a while. Gohan got utlimate back in dbz, while cool, it was a mistake because you can't define a power up without the change of the hair color XD...Now he gets the new form with color change, he can join goku and vegeta, IF NEEDED (probably not, but compare to his ultimate form, it's much more convincing to let Gohan back to the top now, again, if needed)

So in the animated continuity, in DBS it's gohan who gets the coolest kill...Goku's kill on frieza was lame as he got the second chance.

At last, if you told me after the resurrection of F that Gohan will be able to kill off a major villain, and get his own movie, I would say you are dreaming, but here we are!!!

That's not a fair comparison. Super Saiyan was heavily foreshadowed prior to Goku attaining the form. Gohan attaining Super Saiyan 2 was also similarly foreshadowed.

The problem is that Gohan got his entire potential unlocked and should have only been able to grow stronger through training. But he didn't train in a good while, he couldn't even go Ultimate anymore. Then he just gets angry and unlocks a new form that apparently makes him the new number 1.

Now, I like Gohan and Piccolo and I'm very happy to see them being relevant again, but there had to have been a better way to do this. Maybe have Gohan actually learn his lesson and keep training instead of sitting on his ass. That's the third fucking time.

Its adult SSJ 2 Gohan with gray hair and red eyes, yes.
Looking at how the lighting played during his fight against Cell Max, looks like on purpose to made it looks silver like MUI.

The transformation scene itself definitely re-enactment of SSJ 2 Gohan.
This time instead of Android 16, its unconscious Piccolo that triggered his rage.

Much better than going purple like Vegeta. LOL.

It's good that Gohan and Piccolo have had more of a role in this movie, and Gohan's new transformation reminds me a bit of when he woke up from SSJ2 vs. Cell the first time. Well, if they make another DBS movie, hopefully it's Future Trunks, I'd like to know what happened to him and Mai.

Gohan's ssj2 had a better explanation because Goku saw it in the time chamber, but back in the days when the power level was described with numbers, goku was at 180000 against Ginyu? and Freiza was at 100 million? All it took for goku to get this jump was one injury + one rage boost

But I agree that at least Goku trains so I understand why some fans are angry at this power up from gohan. I will have to watch the movie to be sure, but at the very least he looks nothing like the weakling in resurrection of F, so a bit (tho very tiny) better?

And I don't think he is the new number 1. I think he is more like Jiren. I don't even know if Gohan can sense god's ki with the new form. Tho no one cares about being able to sense the god's ki anymore

I definitely won't argue that the power levels were all over the place in the Namek saga. The Zenkais made absolutely no sense. Vegeta was at 18000 against Goku, then at 24000 after his first Zenkai, then at less than 33000 after his second Zenkai since he got beaten than Recoome, and then he ties with first form Frieza who was at 530000 after his third Zenkai. How does that even work?

I'm glad Toriyama realized his mistake and dropped power levels entirely after this.

And I actually have a theory about Gohan's new form. Piccolo in the movie gets the same potential unleash as Gohan courtesy of Shenron, who says he also gave him something extra. The something extra is the Orange form. Said Orange form has red eyes just like Final Gohan, so I'm thinking those who get their poential unleashed have a "limit breaking" form they can unlock, and Gohan simply never managed to do it until now.

I doubt they will give any explanation, but if they do, I hope it's something related to kaioshin...The dragon is actually a mini kaioshin, to create, grant wishes and make the world better. All kaioshins have white/grey hair and I think Gohan has the more proper "limit breaker" form beyond the ultimate, since the ultimate form was granted by the old kai, a proper kaioshin...Piccolo is more like a mini version

I am 1000% sure they won't go that route...unless the movie really sells well so they are interested to shift the focus more to gohan and piccolo...Toei, if you wanna use this idea, please pm me for my approval

Toriyama really is senile. He said in the pamphlet the reason the title is redundant (having "Super" twice) is because he forgot the series was named Dragon Ball Super. He also states everyone just accepted it and one attempted to correct him, which IMO is the crux of the issue with Super. No one dares contradict Toriyama because they all see him as a legend, so he gets to do whatever he wants included retarded stuff. The reason Dragon Ball turned out to be so great in the first place is that he had one hell of an editor who constantly told him to change stuff.

I don't really blame him for forgetting stuff since the franchise has been running for decades and a lot of it isn't even his direct responsibility anymore (even better authors like Araki forgets a lot of things with Jojo), but people really do idolize him too much.

It's not really exclusive to him either. People just tend to credit the single public-facing identity they know and overlook the other collaborators. It happens with games and movies too. Even for the real creative auteurs their works are still a collaborative effort.
