The way this chapter ended just feels like Suwa Squad will not only win the up-coming match but also that they got a much higher win-rate than the currently undefeated Wakamura squad. Am curious to see what Osamu's strategy was for this kind of "build your own soldier" game. Really like how creative all squads have been in this Trion soldier battle.

I wonder if Team 7 will reuse the cheap snipers the day after or if they'll switch to another strategy?

So Osamu did the glass cannon idea that Mizukami was probably thinking about when he saw the suggestions from his teammates. Smart play by Megane-kun. And I'm sure he is already thinking about what to do for day 2 when the other teams either try to copy or to counter their hidden sniper tactic. My guess is thus that Suwa team will switch gears on the next day. Also they and Utagawa are most likely the ones with the highest win rate for day 1.

I like Mikumo idea, but Kuga squad tactics seem more fun. Everyone in Wakamura just going what just happened after their loss

Good for Osamu! When talking about Tamakoma's strengths, it wasn't "Agent 3: Glasses".

Are we ever going to move on to the next phase? I think we get it by now.

I mean there is only one combat round left so we should soon be near the end of this phase. Well depends how many chapters that combat round is going to last of course.

Well a whole chapter dedicated to Rokuro where he hasn't figured out he needs to think for himself. With so much focus on this character during this entire arc it's probably fair to say he's going to be on the expedition team.

I don't think so. He doesn't want to go, and even if he suddenly gets much better, he won't be that much of an asset. He's just being groomed to become a captain. Maybe to let Katori focus on being the ace.

I kind of like how Hyuse is so considerate in all this. Plus he’s pretty confident that what he’ll have to say will be a real slap to the face. It’s probably on the level of Rokuro being arrogant in thinking he’s the kind of hard working type Osamu is. Osamu has plenty of flaws, but he’s desperately trained, struggled, sought out advice and also tried to find his own answers on how to improve. Rokuro is certainly working on improving and trains. He’s not lazy. But there’s a solid gap between effort levels here.

I like the reveal on the training. Both to build up Rokuro’s ability to look at the wider combat situation and also…to try and get him to think for himself. Can’t always rely on mentors forever.

I mean, Rokuro isn't entirely wrong in thinking both he and Osamu got where they are through hard work rather than natural talent. And I'm not sure Osamu worked all that much harder than Rokuro - there's only so many hours in the day, and they've both still got school to consider.

But the level of resolve is different. Osamu used himself as bait in a real battle, even in his real body. I don't think Rokuro ever had to do something like that.

And Osamu's better at thinking for himself rather than blindly follow instructions.

I'm at best ambivalent about that. I can see why Inukai thinks telling Rokuro to think for himself defeats the purpose, but sometimes people need just a little push. To be given "permission" once, and then they do the thing with no problems.

Or that there will be an Invasion arc while there is an expedition at the same time. Like if there is downtime on the expedition like having to travel for several days till they reach their next destination.

Personally I could see either Katori or Hana or both join the expedition, both would be considered a big assets even with Katori's difficult personality, but with Hana being there at the same time it would probably be more agreeable.

The Rest of Katori squad stays behind and forms the Rokuro squad with some new members till Katori/Hana return from the expedition.

Might not happen but I could see it happen that way.
