Do we really need to pretend we don't know who Eto is? Her identity should be obvious for anybody who followed the last two episodes properly and/or isn't deaf. They didn't even bother disguising her voice last week, it's not supposed to be a mystery in the anime. There's nothing to spoil. If Tokyo Ghoul was an anime original show, everybody would be freely discussing this by now.

Well, at this point is not even a spoiler, is it? I mean, I am not the smartest guy around, but if I'm not wrong she spelled it out for everyone. By the way I'd expect someone more refined somehow, but counting how Touka and Hinami are, it's better this way. But it lows down her chances Now that I saw them, the one-eye twin sisters are surely an interesting option too. They are also of the same kind, one-eye-d.
In any case great episode. I'm really digging it and the cool Kaneki surely is cool.
The only little complain is that now Touka looks much less badass than in season 1, but I take her as of now any day rather than having back the old Kaneki

have not explained what a kakuja, but at least touched on the subject that Kaneki practiced cannibalism, and Hinami is 100x more moe anime in the manga. my god.

Finally, pacing picked up a bit with the ghoul action. Aogiri Tree makes their move directly!

I thought Amon was fun to watch this episode. Same with Mado. Not sure how I feel about Kaneki fighting although I do think his powers have gotten better control since he fought on-screen from season 1. The fight involving him was a bit fast though imo and I bet that hit he took directly to the stomach hurt like hell. Overall a good way to deliver after the buildup with this group against the investigators. Oh hello cliffhanger.

Wtf is with the fighting strategies that people use in this show. They're so bad. The action choreography here was disappointing as hell. also the animation was pretty poor.

Interested to see Kaneki's new powerup and also Juzo's fight.

Guess you can never run far enough from a messed up past.
No wonder he became an investigator.
Aogiri attack came at an interesting time.
That ghoul prison sure offered a whole bunch of interesting characters.
So the halfling twins know Juzo... intriguing.
Kaneki proved once more that he's a weakling..

Not really, the character he is fighting is extremely powerful and has his natural weakness of a Kagune.

If you read the manga you would know that Kaneki is actually very powerful at this point.

As for everyone who read the manga, the anime is introducing Kaneki's you know what a lot sooner then it was introduced in the manga. This is going to get interesting.

the anime did not explain the advantages and disadvantages of each type of Kagune, it should have happened before the aogiri arc

Kaneki is a Rinkaku, he is strong against koukaku (Tsukyama) and weak against Bikaku (Nishiki).

Nishiki is a bikaku, he is strong against rinkaku and weak against ukaku (Touka).

Tuskyama is a koukaku, he is strong against ukaku and weak against Rinkaku.

Ayato is a ukaku, he is strong against bikaku and weak against koukaku.

each Kagune has unique characteristics

the rinkakus are those with more cells RC in your links, they regenerate more easily, but the connection between the cells is fragile so although such kagune be very destructive power, it can be easily cut.

the koukaku has a kagune with metallic characteristics, they are strong, but because of kagune they use, are slow.

the bikakus are considered the best because it has no weak point.

the ukakus are good at small and large range strike, but tire quickly.

is also explicit that if you get hit with the type you have disadvantage, its regeneration will be affected, since in that case the RC cells will act as poison.

Hm, I'm getting the vibe here that Kaneki joined Aogiri to become stronger to protect his Anteiku pals in this episode. He also still blames himself for Ryoko's death. Makes sense considering the character Kaneki is.

The awful animation and choreography completely took me out of the episode. This season has been a disaster on that front. It's particularly bad when you compare this to the manga's amazing art. Only the episodes with talking have been good.
With how much the first season boosted the manga sales, you'd think this season would have gotten an increase in budget.

The story is moving pretty fast. The setting of the battle is different from the manga but everything is playing out roughly the same way. The only major difference here is Ayato's presence and him finding out what happened to his dad.

They should have explained Kagunes earlier and the action does leave a lot to be desired. But at least this new route does leave possibilities for Ayato.
